Reed Richards... stop trying to hit me and hit me! Cowboy Curtis to hang ten on the shiny board?
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I don't share Harry's cautious optimism for FANTASTIC FOUR 2. I flat out hated Tim Story's FANTASTIC FOUR. I think it is the shittiest Marvel film so far. And yes, that's counting PUNISHER and ELEKTRA. Even the best stuff in the first movie was a pale reflection of a better version that the material wanted to be.
I do look forward to Weta's work on the Silver Surfer, but I know whenever it's not the Surfer I'll have to sit through the Fantastic Four I hated in the first film.
And don't get me started on the scaredy-cat decision to half-ass Galactus.
Word has hit the trades that Laurence Fishburne will be giving the Silver Surfer his voice. Interesting decision. He's got a power to his voice, a quiet power at that, that will be a good match for the character. Once again, it seems the CGI shiny dude will be the only thing worth sitting through the rest of the crap for.

They have similar accents. Why not?
-
What we REALLY need is a Power Pack movie
-
And i STILL miss George the 7th Chicken. Where could he be? He was a voice of reason on these talkbacks... now it's all "flames on Michael Bay = Beanpole's gotta eat". Tsk.
-
Laa....aaa....me
-
Galactus is gonna be a FEELING, yah, yuh know he's gonna be like the world eater in all of us, yuh know? like, who are we to judge, because like we're all deep down big clouds of gas that eat world, yuh know?
-
...although have to admit Fishburne is a good choice for the voice. Still think it's fucking stupid if Galactus turns out to be A CLOUD. FUCKING STOOOOOOPID.
-
That sucks for Doug Jones. I've herd his version. It would have worked.
-
You haven't seen the movie yet, Quint. let the talkbackers do the presumptuous-shit-flinging, and let's keep the 'official' AICN staff as an objective voice of reason, eh?
-
or did I dream that announcement?
-
This is going to suck, its going to be a shitfest, a crapload, a train wreck, rothman should burn in hell, etc.. etc..
By the way, I loved Daredevil (DC), liked Punisher and hated first Fantastic Four... -
Looks like the post-production costs just went up significantly.
-
Nah, I read that too. Fishburne is Galactus, not the Surfer.
-
unrecognizable to most, but it could be a great draw if done right. Lose the Snarks and give them a proper villain, and then let the casting calls begin!
-
Fantastic Four was one of the last "big" superhero franchises and, quite frankly, Story seriously fucked it up. I hate the cast, the music, the humor, the script, etc. I have no faith in the sequel and will wait for Netflix to check it out.
-
It was pathetic. Made no fucking sense. Although Elektra is close behind. How does Marvel miss so often when they has the perfect formula in their lap...Spiderman?
-
will go see this. While the Surfer looks very cool, my money is going to Spidey 3...
-
Okay, The Punisher went out in the sun, he wore shorts and he wasn't an italian sterotype.
Has anyone here ever read one of the countless retellings of his origin? Did you really buy that whole scene, they always have where there's this utterly scumbag looking dude, that a decent parent wouldn't let walk on the same street as their kid, with slicked back hair hugging a little boy and a little girl, maybe even smiling behind a broken nose with a caption talking about how happy he was? Half the time with a cute blonde wife behind him?
Yeah, that's about as believable as a gigantic guy dressed as a purple mascot for Radio Shack fighting a horny Jessica Alba, a flaming whatever that kid's name is and Vic mackey, or the entirety of the plot behind King Of Queens, I mean come on, a woman like that and a fat guy? He'd have "accidentally" confused her with a hamburger long before she could whine about clothing through nine seasons.
Yeah, the ending had a bit of cheese, but the acting was pretty good, better then it had to be, if you ignore John Travolta, a man that hasn't emoted since the crotch seam was too tight in Saturday Night Fever and it made him a woman.
He was a man avenging his family, he wasn't fighting for bragging rights or the ability to leave some island, and he did it violently, somewhat smartly and it was a funny movie, a great move. You couldn't have two hours of naked guy getting drunk in the darkness then driving pirahna through people's eye sockets with baseball bats, that's not a movie, that's a saturday night on acid.
-
But then the X-Men movies will never be cool and use a villain like Apocalyspe, he's too sci-fi like the Sentinels. I think Fishbourne is a great actor but he's not what I expected for the Silver Surfer. I kind of hope they will do to F4 what they're doing to Hulk soon.
-
It's the studios who demand PG-13, product-placement-riddled garbage. I mean, how can you tell a GHOST RIDER story with a PG-13 restriction? It's about a guy with a flaming skull who works for motherfucking Satan! Perhaps it is their fault for picking some lame directors for the projects (why pick the guy who directed TAXI to make your massive superhero film?), but I have a feeling studio interference is largely to blame - especially with the film's made with Fox. Anyway, my point is that now that Marvel is independent and able to have complete control, look what we're getting - Edward "Fucking" Norton as The Incredible Hulk! Robert Downey Junior as Iron Man! Oh, and just so we're all clear on this - THE FANTASTIC FOUR was utterly terrible. I'm not a fan of the comic by any stretch of the imagination, but just as a work of cinema it was horrible, plastic, lifeless crap. Fire Tim Story!
-
now got real balls!...
-
Never ever ever ever ever ever use Apocalypse. He's my favorite villain and they'll "F" him up.
-
I can't believe it.
-
just imagine if done right, with the four horsemen riding their golden hounds....utter destruction! But you're right, they would royally screw him up...sigh.
-
Yeah, after seeing what happened to Juggernaut and some other characters in the X-Men films, I would rather they leave Apocalypse alone. If done right, Apocalypse would be phenomenal. Unfortunately, I don't see them getting it right.
But I would love to see Apocalypse with Archangel as the horseman of Death. -
I've said this before... they can easily do Galactus... Just get rid of their ego's... http://tinyurl.com/2asm86

Anyone who tries to sell you on the idea that Ang Lee created a "cinematic masterpiece that captured the look of comic books using split-screen storytelling" is officially full of shit.
Ang Lee barely implied the important notion that years of abuse from Bruce's father developed a split personality filled with rage externalized as the Hulk. But hey, he did have Bruce face off against his father and just to make things fair, turned his dad into the Absorbing Man instead of giving us Crusher Creel. The first hour drags considerably, followed by Hulk poodles and a final act that ends up as an incomprehensible mess.
As for FANTASTIC FOUR...ennh, better than ELEKTRA, not as good as DAREDEVIL.
-
It's the truth.
-
And if they choose not to do Power Pack, how about Groo The Wanderer instead? Or a Gatchaman movie all in sexy cgi!
-
the first film was truly awful.
I couldn't sit through more than twenty minutes of it. the worst thing about it was the thing. a tiny little man in a suit that looked like it was made of rubber. that character can only be done justice by CG. The ropey old Roger Corman film looks better. -
here's were I get the real news...Why this isn't here I have no fucking idea! http://www.darkhorizons.com/news07/070419p.php
-
And no one really has any interest in seeing Frank Castle "going out in the sun and wearing shorts". Judas Remains, I'm talking to you. He's called THE PUNISHER, dude, not THE GUY ON VACATION IN MIAMI. Just setting the record straight.
-
Great, that makes me feel loads better. Didn't they say basically the same thing to Cyclops fans before X3's release? And of all the problems that X3 had, the treatment of Scott Summers ranks firmly at the top. Galactus may not be a giant cloud, but I still think he'll be a giant let-down. Why oh why would it be so difficult to make him close to Jack Kirby's version?!?
-
about a purple cloud that devours planets, ever.
-
If they use the realism excuse, call bullcrap. If you've got a guy made of rocks, guy made of fire, guy made of rubber, guy made of metal, and an invisible woman...it's safe to say that the realism factor is out. Especially with the addition of the Silver Surfer.-----------If they say that it's hard to do, call bullcrap. Forced perspective or CGI or even a man in a suit destroying a cardboard city ala Godzilla proves that it can be done.---------There is no excuse other than budgetary concerns that should keep Galactus from looking like fucking Galactus!!!!
-
I agree. If Tim Story is such a hard-core FF fan, it seems a no-brainer for him to DEMAND that they do Galactus right. This is THE ultimate (small 'u') FF story. I'd be so damned psych to try to put it on the big screen - I'd quit before I'd let Fox tell me my Galactus can't be a purple-clad giant, goddammit!!!
-
A pissed off cloud is not a "half-ass" attempt. It's just the fart that came out of the ass. And I loved the first movie. While it wasn't anything nearly as awesome as Spiderman or Batman Begins, it wasn't crap like Elektra, and actually I enjoyed it more than Superman Returns. But if Galactus is a huge space fart, I don't see how the movie can be any good. Even if the rest of the film is amazing, I'll be dreading the coming crap they choke up and call Galactus. At least tell us now. I think that's the only thing that saved X3 for me. The let the info about all the lame deaths and depowered mutants leak a year before the film came out and gave the fanboys time to get used to the idea. That may be the only way we could cope with this tragedy, and keep us all from performing some sort of mass suicide after seeing them butcher our beloved mythology in the most terrible way.
-
I'd say the two are comparable, at least in the fact that I looked forward to both and both disappointed. I was actually more disappointed in HULK, because it strayed too far from its comic roots - at least GR felt like a comic-book movie to me. I don't know what the hell HULK felt like.
-
... but that doesn't mean i'm getting tight pants over the sequel either. I'm far too busy looking forward to The Dark Knight to give a shit.
-
Thing after Tex Mex Night.
-
probably never will, but if I had to choose between re-watching the Hulk or Elektra..I choose Elektra. It's a shorter movie and I would much prefer to stare at Jen Garner than Eric Bana. And I second you Edward_nygma...cannot wait for Dark Knight!
-
they are kidding themselves. no matter what they do, the fan boys at AICN are gonna whine.
-
Bad reporting.Nobody really cares whether you liked FF or not, Quint.A fair number of folks did enjoy it. Enough that the franchise is now part of our lives.Does the site honestly think posting nothing but negatively slanted coverage is going to hurt the box office enough to prevent a third film from being made? Or a fourth (I can't imagine they won't do FF4, just because the marketing will be so easy). You may want to just lay back, close your eyes and think of something else for the next five years or so.
-
The F4 was the most fucking retarded ass Marvel flick ever! Everything about it sucked except "her" ass (no explanation necessary). Anyway, I will not in any way, shape, or form go see this movie in the theater. Perhaps when it reaches cable I'll take a stab at it.
-
I suppose for me, it will be all about HOW Laurence Fishburne speaks. Maybe I haven't seen him in enough movies to get over a certain... speech pattern... he seems to have, in my mind. Didn't he do a commercial voice-over or something? Dang it, I just can't get that... voice pattern out of my head. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Oh, hell. What do I care? This movie seems to be (cough) doomed.
-
Reality: Fox had everyone at the Seattle screening killed.
Which really, when you think about it, would have been the only merciful thing to do after making them watch this movie.
http://tinyurl.com/234xv4 -
Don't hold any hope for this stillborn travesty. But at least the voice casting of Fishburne who is capable of the zen like calm and dignity,is worthy of the Silver Surfer. Otherwise it's pretty ephemeral cine-fodder.
-
That's what I'm talking about.
-
I hope not.
-
Oh, wait that was debunked, wasn't it?
-
in Children of Men as Michael Caine's character had one final pull. After all, those were his dying words.
-
There's still hope for dear Clancy! CLANCY BROWN AS GALACTUS! Oh, and Joey P - Rocket Raccoon is actually one of my dream projects. Believe it... or not.
-
Spider-Man 3.
Or was that one word and a number?Whatever. Anyhow, I again present this chart so fans may place this movie into context.

This is why I like reading your stuff. You hold back no punches and tell it like it be. I agree this is going to be a shit-stain movie.

So the Event Horizon turned him into the Eater of Worlds?
-
They (Fox and Marvel) had there chance to make a good movie, The Surfer was just a tease to get us to spend our hard earned money on there crap film !!!
-
about the Silver Surfer and Galactus apparently having the same voice? Am I missing something? Why is everyone acting like they didn't already announce Laurence Fishburne as the voice of Galactus? Or... did everyone miss that article. I'm so confused...
-
Are you trying to tell us that Laurence Fishburne is voicing SS? Wow. We had to wade through a lot of opinion to get to that nugget of news.
-
No way. The Punisher sucked. Since the director couldn't direct action, he had Castle running around Miami playing cheesy mind games with John Travolta. The director probably thought it was clever, but it was more like a bad episode of Dynasty.
-
The worst marvel movie so far, by far, is Blade: Trinity. I actually can't sit through it.My 3 year-old LOVES Fantastic Four so I have grown quite fond of it.
-
The final act of The Hulk was poor, but aside from that, it wasn't half as bad as you say. But yes, Elektra is by far the worst...Ghost Rider aint far off... Fantastic Four is a little better... X3 is next up the list...Punisher next, then Daredevil which is infinitely better, The Hulk is closely tying with X-Men. number three is Spider-man, number two is X2, and the greatest Marvel film ever has to be Spider-man 2 (until I see Spidey 3 that is).
-
Quint, we all know you hate the FF franchise, and quite honestly there's a lot to hate, but I thouh this was news site. I mean, though it sux, is there any reason to post fake shit just to make the movie look bad B4 it comes out? some would wonder how much Fox's opposition is shelling out to plant rumors like these. Like Harry couldn't make a few calles/e-mails to confirm/deny a screening? and that cloud thing. WTF. Serioulsy, AICNEWS right? Not AICRUMORS.....
-
14. Elektra
13. Blade: Trinity
12.Blade
11. Blade 2
10. Ghostrider
9. Fantastic Four
8. X3: The Last Stand
7. The Punisher
6. Daredevil
5. The Hulk
4. X-men
3. Spider-man
2. X2
1. Spider-man 2
I dont expect 'Thor' to be any good... have hight hopes for 'Iron Man'... 'Magneto' will suck if The Rat is near it. Punisher 2 ought to be good. I think 'The Incredible Hulk' is unnecessary, however the ever unreliable IMDB lists Spider-man 4 as a 2009 release.... Aside from that, 'The Hands of Shang-Chi' is the one im most hopeful for. Woo Ping is directing!! -
C'mon the first FF movie wasn't awesome, but it wasn't bad. It was better than the Blade sequels, both versions of The Punisher, Elektra, Howard the Duck, Captain America, and all of the TV movies.
-
Because your list seems to be missing Dr. Strange, Man-Thing, Howard The Duck, the Dolph Punisher, Generation-X, the Captain America films (Reb Brown 1979, Matt Salinger 1990), the Nick Hammond TV Spider-Man movies and the Avengers and Iron Man animated features. And the Hulk TV 'movies' that were meant to serve as spin-off pilots for the blindfolded Daredevil and the alcoholic viking Thor. Awesome suckage on that list. Oh, I liked "Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD". I know with Stan Lee acting as Marvel's agent Hollywood will put the emphasis on the mainastream core Marvel Universe properties, but can we get some post-Howard love for the great '70s alternative Marvel series? I am still hoping a Master of Kung Fu film gets made well. And how about Adam Warlock, Killraven, Omega, Ms. Marvel, Son of Satan, Jack Russell, Morbius, Spider-Woman... *** Why didn't making movies of Concrete, Elfquest or Reid Fleming, World's Toughest Milkman get off the ground? And in the current comic based film rich environment, why not try again? Okay, Nexus would be too ambitious, but why hasn't anyone tried to make a Badger movie? If comics like Dr. Giggles and Time-Cop can get lensed, why no Usagi Yojimbo or Thunder Bunny? - Back to Marvel, if they've already got live action versions of Angel, Iceman and Ghost Rider, why not replace Black Widow with Elektra, stunt-cast Kevin Sorbo as Hercules and voila, you've got your Champions movie.
-
Fox pretty much debunked it -- what the heck?
-
Its a story that has been done to death at this point, they should've taken another approach instead of such an obvious one.
-
to see THAT Punisher movie - it's the same origin formula. It needed a different structure.

Mmmmmm, sweet mercy...
-
Fishburne will make the Surfer that much cooler. Also, I don't really care whether or not Galactus is some kind of energy being (i.e. "Storm Cloud"). Frankly, the gigantic purple guy would probably look silly in live action next to human actors.
-
I didn't HATE FF, I just thought that "The Incredibles" fucked FF up for me.. *sniff* god I love that fucking movie *sob* It's.... it's just beautiful. I know alot of you might wonder why it WOULD fuck FF up for me, but lets face facts, the Incredibles is just the fantastic 4 movie that the fantastic 4 movie SHOULD have been.. I read years ago that the Fantastic Four movie had some pretty major reshoots done just after the release of the Incredibles just to be in the same market, that was the last indicator that this was going to be a stinker. It would take a movie on par or better than the Incredibles to make me love FF2, and I can NOT see that happening.... DAMN YOU BRAD BIRD!!!.......... no no, wait, come back, Daddy didn't mean it Brad...
-
The shitfest know as 'the incredibles' fucking stunk to high heaven. Two weesley kids one with the powers of human torch (without being on fire or really flying) and the other with invisible woman's powers? Then the father with The Thing's powers and the mother with reed richards powers? FUCKING STAN LEE SHOULD HAVE SUE'D THEIR ASSES.. they had to change the little boy flash's powers just enough i assume so that they couldn't directly connect him to the human torch thus getting sued. BESIDE THAT POINT, INCREDIBLES FUCKING SUCKED... it was boring, fun for kids, but it was fuckign boring for adults. YOU WANT FF2 TO BE LIKE THE INCREDIBLES?!?!? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?! WHY DONT WE MAKE IT LIKE THE TELETUBBIES WHILE we're at it....face it they've been FF kiddy enough as i can tolerate in the first movie. Anymore kiddy friendly and ill shit a brick
-
It's funny when someone is so LOUD and so WRONG at the same time. Nice rant, although it was a bit "childish"...
-
I've never met anyone that didn't like The Incredibles.
-
A "version" of the Human Torch? Did I miss him yelling "SPEED ON" somewhere in the movie?
-
is by far the best Fantastic Four movie out there. Better than Corman's movie which by far is the second best.
-
[quoting myself from a prior talkback]...when the guitarist assassin walks into the diner, pulls out the guitar, and sings Castle a tune. It was such a non-formulaic moment, so *bizarre* in a way, that it made the movie unique among similar guy-getting-revenge movies. I love stuff like that, that tells you the world is just a bit stranger and weirder than you believed when you got out of bed that morning. Here's to more superhero flix showing that spark of personality rather than adhering to the safe template.
-
Yeah, that's you. Apart from you being way wrong in your movie taste(ok, thats your opinion and you are entitled to it), you are very wrong in thinking that The Incredibles was a direct rip-off of Fantastic Four.. Ok, the idea of a superheroes family may be taken from the 4F, but all the rest of the story was clearly inspired in some concepts that appeared in a little comic called Watchmen, in the 80's... but how could you know? after all, you're just a moron...
-
MAN-THING. It's so bad, it went straight to video. I Netflixed it out of curiousity for the ol' carrot-nose. Holy crap, is that 10 tons of cinematic badness. Seriously. It's that painful. Anything else is high art in comparison.
-
So speaketh the Mooninites.
-
I'm curious as to which fans that FOX is talking about? They seriously are not talking about true fan of the comics. I think they are referring to kids who saw the first movie. In fact i know they are.
-
He does sound a lot like Laurence Fishburne.
-
and although I have to admit the first time it was somewhat distracting and slightly entertaining... BUT THE SECOND TIME I WATCHED THAT PIECE OF SHIT I WANTED TO SCOOP OUT MY BRAIN WITH A BED PAN AND WIP IT AT THAT FUCKING ENSEMBLE CLICH'D CHARACTERS... the fucking emo daughter, the add kid, the fucking bored housewife, and the stupid retarded fucking mid-life crisis father. Sure it was fun in some parts, but overall incredibles wasn't that great of a fucking movie. To say it was the best superhero fucking movie??!?!?! WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?! ITS A FUCKING CARTOON COMEDY!!! THE BEST SUPERHERO MOVIE IS SUPERMAN, SPIDER-MAN 2, BATMAN BEGINS... to say that the incredibles compares at all to those movies makes me want to shit on a seagull and watch it try to fly away.
-
I can totally see why the producers didn't want some giant man in a dumb purple helmet attacking Earth. LMAO
BTW, the first movie was better than Ghost Rider and Singer's Superman. -
I would rather watch a cgi movie closer to the CB rather than a live action scared of the true look of the characters hack job. Marvel shouldn't let directors direct their movies if they are going to shy away from what they are. Even Raimi had to alter the GG & New Goblin because he's embarrassed by their look!
-
You sound seriously stressed. Incredibles was a frickin' awesome movie. As is Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, the 1977 Superman.
Word on the street is Galactus is going to look like a giant space carrot. The earth is saved when it chokes on William Shatner's fat ass. That is all. -
I'm serious. X3 was the worst of the three x-men movies but it is STILL better than Hulk. Sorry. But anybody who says that movie is great I defy to sit and watch it again. It is motherfucking PAINFUL. Say what you will about Ghost Rider, but it was fun to watch and felt like a comic book movie should, albeit maybe one that aimed too young for its audience. I have high hopes for Hulk 2, though. Norton is inspired!
-
Hulk was on par with X3 for me.
-
I agree with you, that was a great scene. But you didn't mention my favorite part of it, which is that after the guy sings his song about how he's gonna kill Punisher and then walks out, Punisher just kind of shrugs like "Huh, that's odd" and then takes a bite of his eggs.
I also like the fight scene with the big Russian dude, a long fight with no dialogue (if I remember right) and they end up destroying most of the apartment building. And then he leaves the body unceremoniously on the floor.
I think that movie gets a bad wrap. I really didn't expect to like it, but it won me over. Since I do not read the comic strips that it's based on I wouldn't know about all that literal translation shit, but on its own it's a good revenge movie and works much better than the Dolph Lundgren version due to the casting of Tom Jane. -
Although my list is very 80s and they probably won't be made. Ever. But I'd love a Cutey Bunny movie. I'd especially love a Cerebus the Aardvark movie, but I'm pretty sure a serious Cerebus movie is never, ever gonna happen. "Moonbat!" I cry. "Jaka!"E-Man! I always liked Black Widow, but I'm dubious about that every happening. Or, if it happened, I'm pretty sure it would suck. Loved Deadman, and that might be happening, but why do I think it'll suck? I don't see Elfquest ever being done right, but I suppose it's possible. Sort of like a Xanth movie, it sounds good in theory, but in practice, I quake with fear for what might result.
Definitely would like to see a Cerebus movie. "The Rise and Fall of Cerebus the Aardvark". It'd be so rockin'. Probably could still rock with a PG-13 rating. Do it, people! -
Megatron kidnaps the silver surfer and interrogates him. "I was studying earth's Marvel comics one day, preparing to invade to find the energon cube, when I came to a sudden, epiphany. They call you the 'Silver Surfer' but you are not Silver. For you see, all things that are silver naturally tarnish, but your nads do not. No matter how much piss inevitably dribbles onto them, they always are perfectly shiny. So either you buy cases of Tarn X, Or perhaps you are just TOO SILVER. In any event, shitty adaptions of Marvel comics are a rapidly spreading disease. And we, and by we, I mean not the wii, but we the decepticons, are the cure."
-
Catchphrase Generator v2.1
-
It's a sequel to Fantastic Four, produced by the exact same people. Who cares what Galactus is going to look like?
-
Oh fuck that. I called it- Nolan screwed it up in 2.
-
Really, the truest match to a comic and a great movie all in one. The only superhere movie to do so IMHO. That being said, I'm surprised all you geeks are complaining so much about the movies being made at all. Would you rather go back to the days when the only comics on film were SuperFriends? Take what you can get, and fookin' ENJOY IT!!!
-
...but to find out for sure I'd have to sit through it again, and that's a sacrifice I'm not prepared to make. Are the hulk poodles better on second viewing?
-
Goes on these weird, tiresome rants on a movie that the MAJORITY state is a good flick. Then, he says: "WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU". Yep, it's EVERYONE ELSE who has the problem....
-
I'm soo glad i'm no longer the only person on this site that liked the Punisher. I was a huge fan of the comic and I went to the theater twice to see this movie, partly just to support it. I did not like the singing hitman so much (Mark Curry) but I think Tom Jane is the only actor right now that "gets it". Tom Jane loves comics and all things geeky and he wants Punisher 2 to work bad.I've heard he wants to move it to New York and go a little darker with the tone. I'm a fan, have been since watching him and Aaron Eckhardt in Thursday.
-
They're still pissed about the rat poison in their food...
-
I wish the mom would come to life and visit my house, I'd bang the elasticity right out of her. You'd be able to position her into all kinds of wacky contortions, and it wouldn't matter.
-
is that I can't just put it in and skip to the good stuff--the Hulk stuff, without having to endure the goddamn preview for Fast and Furious 2. It doesn't let you skip to the menu.
-
Mr. Incredible, no matter how strong, can bang Elastic woman to the cows come home, and she'll bounce back no problem. And talk about your 'reach arounds'....I didn't even know there was Hulk stuff on that DVD....
-
Yeah, the FF movie should have been soooo much better. Marvel's first family didn't get the great picture they deserve. And WTF happened with Dr. Doom? Not only the best villian in the MU, but one of the best Marvel characters period was just practically thrown away in that movie. I sure hope the 2nd one will be better, but I doubt it.
-
Dont get me wrong-theres plenty wrong with it.That scene where Travolta gets dragged almost ruins the entire movie..Still,theres a lot of great camera work in there.Theres this shot after Jane flips the car and kills dude with the shooting switchblade..Its a crane shot where theyre both laying in the street=killer. The whole action sequence with the Russian was fluid and well choreographed. And it suited the character,Id be pissed if they gave Puni ninja/Jedi skills.Im more geeked on the sequel(huge Shield fan)If TPTB have any brains whatsoever they need to put that song "In Time" over 2's trailer.
-
You're right, the shrug is a great touch, but he does start off with a raised eyebrow. THAT, followed by the shrug is what makes it perfect. :) Yes, Tom Jane was great choice. Here's hoping the material for P2 lets him deal with personal conflict of having to fight the cops/FBI trying to stop him.
