Two 28 WEEKS LATER Posters For Your Plaguey Perusal!!

Published at:  Apr 16, 2007 9:19:15 AM CDT

Merrick again...

…with a look at two newish posters for 28 WEEKS LATER. I haven’t seen these making the rounds in too many places (although it’s possible I may have missed ‘em), and thought they might be of interest.

The top one is, simply, a new theatrical poster if I’m not mistaken – while the bottom image is international artwork. I dig that second image quite a bit. I really love its “orphans in a storm” vibe, as well as its graphical depth (the way the biohazard symbol looms behind the buildings, etc.)

A huge thanks to Buzz LightBeer (the favorite pasttime of my ex wife) for sending these along.

Yeah, the second is much more evocative...

    by killakane

Nice and dramatic, reminds me of those classic posters of the seventies which were far more dramatic and detailed, hope this is a new trend...

Orphans in a Storm would be a great title, Merrick

First one sucks. second one awesome

    by i dunno

I hate it when posters for sequels look the same as the original. Like the ones for the SW prequels. Just change the faces around and they're the same. The originals didn't do that. What about that Gone with the Wind style Empire Strikes Back poster? That was awesome. But I digress.

Orphans in a Storm sounds like...

the prequel to Snakes on a Plane. Looking at the second poster, are we to assume that robert carlyle aint gonna make it...?

First one is garbage - looks like a clown.

    by scarranhalfbreed

The second one is cool, but the tagline is godawful. Do movies even NEED taglines? Can't the image and the title sell the movie without some cheesy supposedly dramatic sentence plonked over the top of it?

    Nice thing about this movie...

Is that there's no need for the floating heads. That said, these posters still look somewhat generic.

first poster = meh, second poster = great

    by newc0253

i thought 28 days later was much overrated as a film but the second poster actually makes me want to see the sequel in the cinema.

but the 2nd poster's mathmatical progression is off:

    by newc0253

    1, 2, 8, 16, 28? what kind of progression is that? it should either be 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 (n+n)or maybe 1, 2, 8, 64, 128 (n*(n*2)). but how you get 1, 2, 8, 16, 28 is beyond me.

The first one- nothing special, the second one...

    by novaman5000

Makes this look like a huge, sweeping epic. It's not necessarily what I think of when I think of a sequel to 28 days later, but I do like it.

Is it 28 weeks after the first 28 days later?

    by tonagan

In that case, it would technically be 32 weeks later, right? And that progression is a bit odd newc0253 - I'll probably spend the rest of the day trying to find the logic in it. Mathletes unite!

why the hell are they not advertising robert carlyle's role in this? if it is supposed to be so badass they may as well use the fact that TRAINSPOTTING's biggest badass is finally in something halfway decent again to their advantage

    OMG that's a GREAT idea...

    by rendell

Franco Begbie turns up in 28 weeks later and he's so mental that everyone thinks he's infected when in fact he's just having a fairly average day!One of the infected runs towards Begbie, twitching, snarling, intent on it's next victim. Begbie fixes Infected assailant with a dangerous stare and at the appropraite moment, glasses the infected with a pint glass he just happens to be carrying... in the face! Said infected is momentarily stopped wherupon Begbie gives the infected a swift, hard kick in the Nads. Game, Set and Match to the King of the Hibs Casuals.Begbie stands trumpantly over the prone, wimpering form of the infected and says "Now get that shite oot 'er yer system 'erfore aah kick it oot!"

Pretty cool, in my opinion. Both of them. I'm interested to see where Fresnadillo goes with this.
Also, good calculations above. I'd never heard the word "mathlete" before, but it makes total sense.
