Dog Day Afternoon!! ENTOURAGE 3.14!!

Published at:  Apr 15, 2007 2:55:41 AM CDT

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

HBO Says:

Vince and Eric procrastinate over the Edith Wharton movie, rankling Amanda. Meanwhile, Eric plans a romantic weekend with Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui), but can't seem to tell Vince that they want to go solo. Turtle and Drama (Kevin Dillon) find a pair of dream dates at the hottest singles spot in L.A. - the dog park - but their dog Ahnold soon puts the kibosh on their romantic plans. Meanwhile, Ari orders Lloyd (Rex Lee) to "take one for the team" in order to help land a top TV writer. Written by Doug Ellin & Rob Weiss; directed by Mark Mylod.

The next five episodes (beware uninvisotexted spoilers):

3.15 - APRIL 22 - "Manic Monday" - After railing on Eric and Vince for giving her the runaround, Amanda makes Vince an offer he can't refuse. Babs (Beverly D'Angelo) orders Ari to fire an inept employee, but he must first overcome an unwanted side effect he's been experiencing since his breakup with Vince: compassion. Written by Doug Ellin & Marc Abrams & Michael Benson; directed by Julian Farino.

3.16 - APRIL 29 - "Gotcha!" - Drama finds out he will be the target on Pauly Shore's new "Punk'd"-like reality show, and thinks he's in on the joke. Eric attempts to smooth out tensions between Vince and Amanda, but they've already been relieved. Meanwhile, Ari's frat brother comes for a visit, and Ari finds himself jealous of the former slacker's newfound riches, as well as his gorgeous fiancé. Written by Rob Weiss & Doug Ellin; directed by Dan Attias.

3.17 - MAY 6 - "Return of the King" - A casting change puts "Medellin" back on the table for Vince (Adrian Grenier). Ari (Jeremy Piven) and producer Nick Rubenstein (Adam Goldberg) must broker the deal between Amanda (Carla Gugino) and the studio by day's end, but can't use the most important tool of their trade - the cell phone - until after sundown, because it's Yom Kippur. Eric (Kevin Connolly) suspects that Vince and Amanda's relationship is sabotaging the deal. At the races, Drama (Kevin Dillon) saves a slow horse from the glue factory. Written by Brian Burns; directed by Dan Attias.

3.18 - MAY 13 - "The Resurrection" - Eric and Vince are determined to get "Medellin" off the ground, but the rights to the script stand in their way. Feeling tense the day of the "Five Towns" premiere, Drama seeks relief at a massage parlor, but can't avoid Daily Variety. At the auto-body shop, Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) meets a girl who shares his love for limited-edition sneakers, but her overbearing father hampers his game. Written by Doug Ellin & Ally Musika; directed by David Nutter.

3.19 - MAY 20 - "The Prince's Bride" - Drama has an offer from Brett Ratner for "Rush Hour 3." Ari finds a backer for "Medellin," but the source of his wealth, and his wife's intentions toward Vince, are shady. Turtle has a date with Kelly (Laura London) - under the watchful eye of her father. Written by Rob Weiss; directed by David Nutter.

10 p.m. Sunday. HBO.

Some talkbackers are so unoriginal. I know you were trying to be amusing Pennsy. It's just old and the show deserves some praise. It really is a show that you'd think the talkbackers here would enjoy.

    More Ratner!

    by ijustlikemovies

Maybe it comes from too much AICN, but the Drama/Ratner plot would seem to be a good 'insider' angle.

Tony. Entourage isn't the greatest or anything, but I hate the grind of the Sopranos while waiting for some lighter entertainment.

    rte has bought this but

    by emeraldboy

but you can tell when a british or irish tv station has no faith in a new show. Itv put entourage on at 11.30 and pulled it becuase, it didnt have a strong enough audience they said. Rte has put this on after lost at 10.55. Rte has also kicked ugly betty around like you wouldnt believe(first it was 7.30pm, then 9.30pm on a different day). Tv3 did the same to Studio 60(debuted it on a thursday night, then dropped it and put on a monday night at 11.30. Stop fucking re-scheduling shows, god damnit. and I wouldnt be suprised if the same thing happens to heroes on the bbc. They did the same to family gauy last. 11.30 sunday night. Crap. Before that it was bilko and I could go on.

It's like someone is following me around with a camera! I too live in a mansion, take impromptu vacations on private jets, constantly surrounded by gorgeous women and smoke pot all day with my friends. Can you sue for having your life plagiarised? :)

    by celestialpudding

    = comic gold

I only just downloaded season 3, ep 13 (i'm in china with no access to HBO ok so don't sue...i'm sure i'll buy the DVD) and the comic timing of jeremy piven and the "gaysian" that plays lloyd has me in stitches as always...BRILLIANT!

thank the phallic gods for carla gugino being on the show! I had a crush on her since I saw snake eyes in the cinemas...HOT HOT HOT!

the point I was making was

    by emeraldboy

that British and Irish channels buy these shows from america and then show them at awkward times. and then they vanish and british and irish stations say well these are minority shows and they have very small audiences. West wing is another example of the atrcious scheduling that happens on this side of the pond. Rte's handling of West wing was so bad that IT became a news item in several irish sunday news papers and a number of journalist contact to give about it. It worked and for the rest of its life It showed the west wing at 10.30pm. NYPD banished to a 2 am slot. Riduculous and I remember my mother got me to write a email and she was told that, well nypd is a minority show. There attitude regarding music on tv is just as appalling if it dosent come with a text vote, they are not interested. They used to have a great arts coverage and now they dont.

Sure the show is bullshit but I can't look away

    by timbenzedrine

Any actor that fucked up as routinely as Vince would be lucky to get a walk on the scifi channel at this point. No one cares about Eric and Slone, and Turtle continues to be a waste of space. It looks like it's up to Ari LLyod, and Drama to carry the rest of the season. But I'm telling you, that if nothing interesting happens by the end of this season, I'm done.

Turtle and Drama Should Always Fail

    by _maltheus_

It's kind of the whole point of the show that they're just Vince's entourage, eating crumbs from his table. Everyone loves Drama, precisely because of his obsession over past, inconsequential glory. Who wants a show with four Vince's? If Drama had big success, he'd likely move out. Either way, it would fuck up the dynamic of the show. I predict the pilot will get on the air, show 3 episodes and get canceled. Then we can have Drama go on and on about the three talkback geeks starting a petition to bring it back, ala Firefly, all the time. That would be funny. I don't think Entourage is some kind of great show or anything, but I don't think it really needs tweaking either. If you don't find it a fun show to watch, then I don't think a little more plot is gonna do it for you.

I can't stand Eric either. It used to be Turtle but

    by gqtaste

somehow he's grown on me. But E is one short motherfucker that wouldn't be able to pull that ass in one second. I really wonder if there are actors like Vince who couldn't wipe their ass w/o assistants from their people? Ari and Lloyd and Drama make the show and all the T and A.

    Can't understand the hate...

    by bulldog23

...for all the characters besides Ari, Lloyd, & Drama. Yes they have the funnest lines: they are the comic relief (duh). They are all pieces of the puzzle. Compare Ari in season 1 to now - the character is so much funnier now that he has lloyd to play off of. And yes, E can date Sloane because of his association to Vince - their relationship in that context is totally believeable.
