A Curious First Look At RUSH HOUR 3... Tucker, Chan and the 8ft Man!

Published at:  Apr 14, 2007 12:01:05 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here... Not sure how this scene fits into the Paris adventures of Tucker and Chan - but seems it's a Yahoo outing for New Line today - debuting that HAIRSPRAY stuff - and this scene from RUSH HOUR 3.

It's your basic Tall Guy vs shorter guys gag - with the Tall Man being essentially unstoppable. If I could whisper to Jackie, I'd say, take the man's knees out. But that's just me. That said - looks like more goofy hijinks. Right?

    Chris tucker....

    by emeraldboy

To the studio: you cant make this film without me. Studio: we are making Rush Hour 3 and youre integral part of the cast. Course you are on board right. Tucker: Pay me 25 million. Studio(doing great impersonation of a young eddie Murphy): Get The fuck outta here!. Tucker: no 25 mill. No film. Long pause.......10 months later. Studio: Here's your 25 mill jackass, now get to work. Day one: Everything seems to be fine but wait whats this, tucker the unfunny fucker wont come out of his trailer. For reasons we dont know. Ratner: I gave up supes for this shite. Movie wraps prodcution. Everyone agrees never to work with tucker the unfunny fucker again. Tucker is scretly lured to NY. He ends up in the HQ of Weinstein company and tries to pull the shit he did with newline, Ie pay a large amount of money or i wont do it shtick. Tucker learns you dont screw with Harvey and Bob and is found dazed with baseball bat marks on his head and body and with distinct odour called Cigar de harvey. You dont wont to know where placed the cigar!

and unlike the ratner haters, I think he does action very well and The chan fights are the best things about one and two. Then jackie had make around the world in 80 days and the tuxedo and the medallion, three huge stinkers. The jet li/ jackie chan project sounds cool. I sense that chan hates hollywood for ruining his career.

The first Rush Hour I didn't care for. It just seemed very slight. Not a lot of jokes. Not a lot of really impressive action. The second Rush Hour was too much. Too much attempted jokes, and too much unbelievable action. This one I don't expect to be much better. Ug. It's going to make so much money.

These flicks never had pretensions to be anything more than they are: mildly diverting, slightly entertaining, mainstream action comedies. For what they are, they're fine. I probably will end up watching part 3 as well, though likely on DVD than in the theatre. I don't really go to see movies in theaters anymore anyway, other than for big, epic movies like Lord of the Rings or Braveheart.

and wish we were seeing a third Shanghai film opposed to a third Rush Hour. Not a big fan of Owen Wilson but his schtick in his pairings with Jackie was surprisingly more tolerable as they both looked like they were having fun in the films. I don't really get that vibe with Tucker -at this point it just seems to be an easy paycheck and a comfortable role where he doesn't have to challenge himself. No one else thinks that it's extremely odd that it'll be a decade come next year where Tucker will only have appeared on the big screen in the three Rush Hour films? I realize he wouldn't need the money but...an actor's ego is usually not sated just by money but also a constant acceptance, as stallone has proved.

you also say Bo bui gai wak is a good jackie chan film? are you one of those guys who says a film is great just because its Hong Kong / chinese made? his most recent film sucks as much as all his latest western ones - little or no fighting (and what's there was tame, and too much family friendly baby crap) jackie chan hasnt made a good film in years...in china or the us...
whereas some of jet li's 'hollywood' films (unleashed/kiss of the drasgon) are far superior to a few of his old asian ones (the master/dr. wei anyone?)

    Rush Hour 2 was horrible!!!

    by spectrebeeyatch

The first one at least tried to do something fun the second one just felt pointless. You knew who the main bad guy was but they tried to fake you out anyway even though everyone knew that Chinese dude was the bad guy. This will be the same Chinese bad guys in France and other places fighting Jackie while Tucker screams like a bitch. I'll pass.

When the fuck did Chris Tucker become talented???

    by pdennett316

Did I miss the memo? Or are people mixing him up with Chris Rock again? Seriously, $25 million for Tucker??? Fucking DeNiro and Pacino must as for fucking $Billions if thats the case. First was decent, second was shit, and third will be worse. I have no desire to see the same gags repeated in France with shittier fight scenes.
And for the muppet who asked "Why go to the movies if we hate movies?" Are you fucking retarded? Just because a person says this is going to suck doesn't mean they hate all film. Believe it or not, not everyone likes EVERY piece of shit that Hollywood farts out. It also doesn't mean that every TB'er who says a film sucks is the SAME TB'er. Your question was so nonsensical and childlike I'm now sure that you typed the question with a magic wand attatched to your forehead. Be careful now, keyboards aren't drool-proof. Dumb shit!

Not a huge Rush Hour fan, but...

Chris Tucker's initial reaction is hillarious, "This Boy's on Steroids". LOL!

The Rush Hour Movies are comedy classics!

    by 2thehnl

Why not just appreciate funny, cop humor and good action for what it is? Pure entertainment. Those of you who are whining about the movies obviously take yourselves too seriously. Chill a little!

I was watching Rumble in the Bronx last night

    by johnno

Why can't they just make more low budget films with bad actors like that? Those are way funnier, and all I really need is just a decent excuse to see Jackie fight a bunch of bad guys... alas...
