Will Chris Tucker Return For FRIDAY 4?!

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here. He will if New Line writes the check, and it seems that Ice Cube is determined to have that happen. He gets that the one thing that will make another sequel worth seeing would be the return of Smokey. I got a tip-off about this from a reader who directed me to an audio interview. The material about a potential FRIDAY sequel comes about 2/3 of the way into the piece if you want to hear it for yourself:

Hi, Ice Cube sat down to talk to Angie Martinez and said that Chris Tucker (Smokey) will be back in part 4! Listen to the interview here!

    hmm

    by Shakes

Wouldn't this be the first non-Rush Hour movie Tucker's done in 8 years if it happens.

  • April 8, 2007, 10:28 p.m. CST

Oh, I ever do hope he does

    by WolfmanNards

What would these masterpieces be without the brilliance of sir tucker?

  • April 8, 2007, 10:29 p.m. CST

    Wow!

    by Darth Thoth

Friday was a classic and Chris Tucker was the absolute best part about it. I thought the series ran its course but Tucker could actually put some fire back into it. Consider me very interested. One other thing. I've been a fan of Cube since back to NWA days but I gotta admit I'm pissed his new movie beat out my Grindhouse this weekend. Bah! But oh well. What can you do? If you're like me... you're going to see Grindhouse again. Peace.

Let's just forget those other two sequels happened

    by Lando Griffin

the original was a classic, thanks in large part to Tucker. I was always a bit turned off by him though turning down the sequels and wanting more money and all. I was just thinking he hasn't done anything besides Rush Hour and from what I understand he's a bit of a recluse. The Rush Hour films were ok but for the life of me I can't remember anything about them. It also always bugged me that after the first Rush Hour he all of a sudden became a $20 mil a pic guy, never quite understood that.

Can we forget about the 2 seq.....--

    by funnyhat

--...and do "Saturday"? the 2nd and 3rd were just awful.

    by Neo Zeed

    by iwontwin

Friday was better than all of the sequels, but the sequels werent complete shit, just passable.

  • April 9, 2007, 12:41 a.m. CST

    FRIDAY is a comedy masterpiece.

    by one9deuce

Haven't seen the sequels, don't care to. But if Ice Cube and DJ Pooh (Red) write the screenplay, F. Gary Gray directs again, and Chris Tucker plays Smokey, I'll most definitely be there opening night.

  • April 9, 2007, 1:29 a.m. CST

PUH-LEESE, Chris Tucker only does Rush Hour movies.

    by GibsonUSA Returns

That's enough to keep him in the $$ fa life!!

  • April 9, 2007, 2:36 a.m. CST

Next Friday was funnier than Friday but

    by DirkD13"

The story and direction was lame. The trouble with the third film was that there was no straight man, everyone was mugging for all they were worth and it just turned into a big steaming turd.

  • April 9, 2007, 6:28 a.m. CST

...and will someone other than his mom give a damn?

    by JackPumpkinhead

And even she will only pretend.

  • April 9, 2007, 6:42 a.m. CST

There is NO WAY that is going to happen...

    by Napolean Solo

Tucker doesn't even curse anymore, let alone do movies about weed heads. NO WAY is that going to happen.

  • April 9, 2007, 9:15 a.m. CST

    I mean why not?

    by purplemonkeydw

It's Friday, he ain't got no job, and he ain't got shit to do. C'mon Smokeeeeey!

Fuck Mother-tucker. Most ANNOYING bitch EVER!

    by kinghenryVIII

I can't stand that douche. He was grating after about 20 seconds of that movie - and any other movie - he's in. That high pitched crap spewing out of his mouth. Ice Cube needs to tell that fucker to take a fucking hike. The douche has only done the Rush Hours after that and they suck due to his "I'm so funny" schtick. Tell that no talent "Where have you been Chris Fucker" to take a fucking leap Ice Cube!

  • April 9, 2007, 10:39 a.m. CST

Screw all you Chris Tucker haters, and he ain't greedy.

    by The Founder

You think this man gives a shyt what some of you losers think? Hell no. I respect him cause the man stays in his lane. He had good successs after those Rush Hour films and was offered a ton of projects. He didn't do any of them cuase he wasn't interested. Sure tucker could've jumped in the fast lane for the money and did movie after movie, but he didn't. Say whast you wasnt but tucker was A list and may still be. Hollywood saw a bankable comedic actor and he could've demanded 20 million for his next projects but he didn't, which makes me question some who says he's greedy. For not whoring himself out to Hollywood I respect him, cuase he sure had a hell of a chance to make more money then he got for just those The Rush Hour films.

  • April 9, 2007, 11:12 a.m. CST

I used to love Ice Cube. Also used to love Chevy Chase

    by SydBarretsMyDad

They were both edgy motherfuckers doing their thing better than anyone did. Now, they are reduced to fucking kids movies......oh well, I still got my copy of Modern Problems and Straight Outta Compton. But Eazy-E would have bitch slapped Ice Cube for the fluff he puts out now.

  • April 9, 2007, 12:06 p.m. CST

    Rush Hour 17

    by liljuniorbrown

Why would he not want to be part of a Friday sequel ,but he would do two Rush Hour Sequels. Friday and the sequels afterwards were great movies, the first film was indeed an instant classic. I hope this rumor is true.

My favorite Chris Tucker moment is....

    by Mandolorian

When Sam Jackson shoots him in the trunk of the car in Jackie Brown and shuts his annoying mouth up. If only it were true.

  • April 9, 2007, 12:57 p.m. CST

    Will he return?

    by KabutoKoji

Well, yeah, as long as he can make it to church on time.

  • April 9, 2007, 1:35 p.m. CST

Word Manolorian! More Chris Tucker death

    by kinghenryVIII

early in movies would do me just fine. That annoying friggin chatter that is supposed to be funny. MEH!

    CHRIS TUCKER RULES

    by Toby___Wong

He rules because he is enjoying his life. He also isn´t greedy like most actors who demand billions for a cameo. You can do nothing but respect Tucker for not appearing all over the screen 6 times a year. He picks his roles and shines in them. It´s not about the quantity, it´s about quality. Tucker is quality whether you like or don´t like it.

    Never Saw The Sequels

    by MarkoOhNo

All I needed to know was Chris Tucker wasn't in 'em. Friday without him in it would be like watching The Three Stooges with only 1 or 2 stooges. Funny, maybe, but not as funny as it should be.

  • April 9, 2007, 5:42 p.m. CST

    Can you understand...

    by BillyPilgrim

...the words coming out of my mouth? Not with Ice Cubes cock in your gob! It would be comedy gold if Tucker had an electric voice box and spoke German through the entire movie.

  • April 9, 2007, 5:43 p.m. CST

    Would we be this lucky...?

    by YZiddy

Would we be this lucky to have the legendary and incredible Chris Tucker return to one of the most brilliant and fantastic film series in decades? [/sarcasm]

puff puff pass puff puff pass

    by Jaka

This talk back (the people in it) is why it will happen. The budget and his actual pay could be almost nothing, but they could give him a large slice of the back end. It could happen.

  • April 9, 2007, 10:47 p.m. CST

Will have a scene where he sucks dick for weed?

    by Doctor_Sin

I would love for him to play an LAPD cop. Oh, the irony.
