final update after a valiant effort, the drive array... will not play. the data loss spans about sixty hours between 4pm CST april 2nd to 4am CST april 5th. our apologies to those affected. it honestly was a perfect storm of negative events. editors should re-post preserved material from that time-frame in the next twenty-four hours. **************************************** **************************************** aintitcool.com ran into some trouble at approximately 4am CST (05 april 2007). a drive array "went south" and we are currently recovering about 48hrs worth of stories and talkbacks. this will not affect posting. the site will work normally today. editors can post stories (today's stories are from today), talkbackers can post chatter and it will be preserved even after recovery. Note that anyone who signed up for a talkback account in the past 48hrs will need to wait for the recovery. if you reregister, your account may get deleted when the data is re-inserted into the database. if or when the data is recovered, it will be inserted into the proper order (i.e. the recovered data will be in correct chronological order, "FIRST!" preserved.)
