DreadCentral Has the WRONG TURN 2 Trailer!!

Published at:  Apr 02, 2007 9:08:20 AM CDT

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

I know, I know... WRONG TURN hardly demanded a sequel.

I met director Joe Lynch at the second-season MASTERS OF HORROR trailer, though, and I can tell you this much... this guy is a degenerate gorehound. And I mean that in the best possible sense. He’s a true lover of the genre.

So does that translate into a good film? Will this one be better than the film it’s following? Only time will tell. For now, DreadCentral has your first peek:

Just a heads up that we've got the exclusive new trailer for Wrong Turn 2: Dead End in both regular and hi-def! This one was cut together by director Joe Lynch himself!

It's terribly badass, check it out!

    I wouldn't normally be interested

    by franklin t marmoset

But this one has Henry Rollins, who I've big a big fan of for years, and Erica Leerhsen, who is purdy. So that's my chump money gone already. I might just as well post it to the bastards now, get it over and done with. When will I learn?

    "West Virgina"?

    by farley flavors

Way to proofread your trailer before releasing it to the public. This doesn't bode well for the quality of the actual film...not that I thought this film would have any quality.

It could be a sly nod to the misspelled NIT Championship tees, or just a typo.

I used to confuse the films "Wrong Turn" and "Dead End"

    by tonagan

Then I finally saw Dead End, thinking it was Wrong Turn, and was surprised to find out that it (Dead End) was a witty, clever "little" film with solid performances (albeit a somewhat predictable ending). Still haven't seen Wrong Turn, though.

Not the greatest flick ever but certainly not horrible. It's at least up there with that episode of The X-Files called "Home."

Gorehound? That's why this sequel will be a piece of...

    by jackpumpkinhead

...bitter smelly liquid chocolate. Wrong Turn wasn't a damn plotless gore flick, it was a fun nod to old hick horrors. If this guy cares about gore rather than plot or atmosphere, this will be a typical sequel, i.e. garbage.

Wrong Turn was a fun flick...

    by sledge hammer

...it did exactly what it set out to do, did so in a pretty entertaining way, and didn't overstay it's welcome. No classic, but certainly a fun bit of schlock. And compared to wretched shit like Hostel and Cabin Fever, or all those pg-13 horror thrillers (than neither horrify nor thrill) we've had thrust on us over the past few years, it's a friggin' masterpiece.

    Why horror movies suck today

    by i dunno

There are no iconic villains. I don't mean that every horror movie has to have a wise-cracking guy in a fedora and a sweater. But there isn't even a Michael Myers. Just a collection of rednecks, mutants and Euro-trash torturers. That's why horror movies now seem unnecessarily brutal and pointless. A solid villain that the hero can get back at and kill (if only temporarily) you can get away with a lot more violence with that than just women tied up by faceless entities, raped, tortured killed and then END CREDITS. Saw would sort of be the exception to this, as it has a real villain (two actually). But the Surgery Channel with a screaming soundtrack just doesn't cut it.

    Oh, this sequel though...

    by sledge hammer

...Yeah, not exactly holding my breath to see it. Though I will eventually, if only because it has Henry Rollins in it, and because I eventually check out pretty much every new horror to hit the shelves sooner or later.

Time to cut down on the anal probes, chief. Wrong Turn was NOWHERE near as good, scary or disturbing as that X Files episode. I say that as someone who actually lived in West fucking Virginia for a few years and knows what incestuous mutant cannibal troglotards look like in real life. Maybe we'll finally get the dead raped deer in the sequel?

    by kbass

Sure, it's easy to take shots at us here in West Virgina? Virginiuh? Vergyna? Sheesh...
Anyway, watch what you say or we'll turn our inbred, cannibal hillbilly monsters loose on the world. No one is ready for that kind of heat. NO ONE!
Oh, and Eliza Dushku was great in the first one. She's a keeper.

    by renoreno

...I was pleasantly surprised. The part that they had to hide inside the hut and the family came back with their dead friends and started to cook them was awesome! I was in my chair hugging my knees!

Much better then it should have been. Agreed with above. It's not THAT bad of a movie. memorable kills (for what cable shows) and Dushku could Dosh-me anytime. See what I did there? With the name?I did like the axe to the head while the chic was up in the tree - good kill.
