AICN Comics Presents A YouTube Trailer For The Next Babe Creation From PAUL DINI's Delicious Mind!
Hey folks, Harry here -- Paul Dini's latest creation... Madame Mirage has hit the world of YouTube - our first look at the character, and we can only wonder at what mischief we'll be seeing her get in or out of, but we'll all wanna see her get in and out of as many fetishistic Paul Dini convceived fetishistic situations, clothing and scenarios... eh? Paul's shown me some previews as this project has been going forward and he's quite excited by it and by working with TopCow. What will the @$$hole$ think? Wait and see... I can't wait to read their coverage - along with all their coverage as usual. Here ya go, here's the teaser...

Boom Tschak.
-
I'm really looking forward to this and Warren Ellis's Black Summer. Good times.
-
Wow.
-
..too big. Like ecchi-anime too-big. But they stay just the right side of not too distracting.Looks good, Dini is The Man and...screw it: WOWZER WOWIE WOW!;P
-
And as for the Dini creation, i guess if nerds are going to jerk off to drawings they might as well be well written drawings.
-
And I really liked her choice of hats. What???
-
looks hawt. Possibly just what Top Cow needs to get their name in the spotlight again.
-
is Carmen Sandiego?
-
Its the 90s/Image/Chaos all over again.
Give her HOOOGE boobs and sell books. -
The guy's a goddamn institution. Film noir and Paul Dini sounds like a match madde in heaven.
-
Kidding aside, I trust Paul Dini to deliver an awesome comic. And also the artwork looks cool. I'll be checking this out
-
gimme a break gang, i like shit like this at eastman and laird's museum in northampton MA from the 1940s or whatever... but cmon, freaking out like this is the hottest thing ever? some of us nerds are turned on by real women, not cartoon cyborgs with wasp waists and watermelons for breasts. (or "boobs" to anyone i lost there at the end)
-
Does anyone remember that project?
I thought it was supposed to be for series animation, unlike "Madame Mirage", which is a book (for now). -
I think I know the answer but I shall ask anyway. Does anyone else hate Greg Horn's "style"? I absolutely loathe his covers. If you do like his style please state why. I merely want to hear what others think. Clearly his playboy style is appealing otherwise he wouldn't be doing so much work. Thanks to those who respond.I already have this title on "pre-order" except I opted out of the two cover set. That's right, I only chose the Rocafort cover. Besides the wasp frames with watermelon breasts concept, I still hopeful that this series does not disappoint. Mildly trepadacious...

So she's even got a little blonde sidekick like Zena, eh? To get the chicks in, right?! And yeah, at the other end of the boobieverse, where's Jingle Belle? Pert is good too you know. Dini is very flexible, and can write characters with both large and small breasts. Which reminds me, "Hooray for boobies" is the greatest album title of all time. Someone should say boobs some more.
-
But it's clever that they made a trailer for it.
-
...Big breasted hottie that carries a .45, has a mysterious air about her, flowing white fabric, lost of gun smoke and/or fog, sultry looks, gives off a 1930's pulp vibe, is seeking revenge... Love Paul Dini, but he feels at times like he's chasing down his next Harley Quin to cash in on.
-
a pair of tits. The guy has written some of the best Batman stories even, and easily some of the best Joker stories. I like film noir and I like Paul Dini so I'm there. Sure, the unrealistic look of comic book women is ridiculous, but that's everywhere and it's not just Paul Dini's fault.
-
...I was hoping you were just mistaken...fibbing...bald faced lying, even... But sadly, we lost another of the great ones this week. Detective Comics #475 and #476 "Laughing Fish" story is still one of the best Batman stories ever. Godspeed.
-
So it's doing trailers for comix now? Can't it just get what it needs from the magic box?
-
I din't think so, it looks like a comic, which is too bad because I don't really like reading my porn (even if it's not really reading, just a silly comic book). The blonde intrigues me tho. why is there a trailer anyway?
-
He's a tracer. He "paints" over porn stars and titty magazine models. He's a fraud. Look at any of his Elektra "drawings" and you're looking at Aria Giovanni, just traced.
-
you need to stop describing every hot chick you see as "delicious," "yummy," "scrumptious," etc. It only reinforces the fact that you have to eat everything. It's creepy, like guys in their thirties and forties who use emoticons.
-
Last I knew, that dog's been outta business for YEARS, Light-up-eyed gargoyle and all! Damn cool while it lasted though.
Funny to see a reference to my old hometown on AICN... poor Northampton, it went from being a funky little college burg full of old-school hippies and tough blue-collar dykes (in the 70s, when I was a kid) to a hellish super-rich stepford-lipstick-lesbian resort for NYC snobs who can't cut it in the city or else want to raise their adopted brown brats in a Whole Foods Market smoke-free hatespeech-free economic-diversity-free twilight-zone version of small town america. -
Paul Dini is great.
-
I'm kinda surprised the trailer didn't include the line "You did notice her gigantic rack, right?" Although that might've been too obvious. It's somewhat interesting, I guess, but not sure why I'd spend $3.50 per issue when I can get the same thing for free (with real chicks) from a hundred torrent sites.
-
My girl has wasp waist and watermelons for breasts. You mean she´s a cyborg? That´s scary...

Anyone else know of this? -
I think it's a good idea to market comics this way. Marvel has done some interesting trailers for some of their storylines/series which might go over well if aired on the right channels.
-
DAWN -- the hottest comic babe ever!!
-
its out of business? i havent been to northhampton in years, sounds like i am not missing very much these days. too bad words & pics is gone, it was a real unique spot. ill never forget seeing all 400 original hand drawn pages of some cerebus chapter there in the 90s (before dave sim went totally nuts...) nice to see its not totally forgotten.
-
I didn't know about that, no...is there any way we could keep anyone else from knowing about it?
-
That shit is so juvenile is isn't funny. Not every woman in the world has big boobs. It'slike it's getting to be a requirement for lame ass fanboy artists. Learn how to draw woman with reference other than porno mags, for God's sake.
-
I'M IN!
*farrrrrt* -
Damn it. Seriously. Wow. This news has truly moved me. This guy... man, this guy and Neal Adams, along with inkers Terry Austin and Dick Giordano, ...man, these guys did amazing work on Batman. And wow, Marshall Rogers visually interpreted Batman's cape like I so desired (and still desire) to see captured on film. Wow. Just go to google and find some pics of Marshall Rogers' Batman. Look around for some of his Batman art. This hits me like a rock. And this is news that AICN should do a special tribute. Hell, I even demand it.
-
I can't wait to take my family to a nearby comicbook store. Wholesome entertainment.
Oh, I forgot. Comicbook stores are dying right and left. I wonder why they can't make a profit in this world. -
That teaser trailer was just embarassing. If the @ssholes don't tear this apart, then I personally challenge Buzz Maverick to a fight behind the middle school baseball diamond at noon.
-
Classic stories that both adults and kids can enjoy. I highly recommend the book Batman Animated. It's by Paul Dini and Chip Kidd. Cool stuff.
-
sex sells! So excuse me and other "oh so geeky fanboys" buying comics with a good looking vixen on the front and center. But I´m sure there will be a niche for lovers of ugly, old, tit-and assless grandmoms as comicbook-heroines anytime soon. So some of you smartasses will be satisfied as well.
-
Geeky Fanboys (like me) cannot keep the Superhero medium alive and kicking for very much more. What is the average age of the comicbook geek/consumer?
New blood needs to enter comicbook stores. That will be very hard if parents( moms with MONEY) feel that a comicbook store sells over priced books selling sex.
Parents would rather purchase a video game at Wal-Mart than enter a comicbook store.
The truth fucking sucks. -
He was my favorite Batman artist of all time. Damn, this sucks.
As for Ms. Mirage, I've already got her 1st issue pre-ordered. Don't let me down Paul. -
...When I saw "YouTube trailer" and "Dini" together, I was actually expecting more than THAT. I realize this was created to push a print comic, but given his ties to animation I would have thought he'd call in some favors or something to do a quick snippet of actual animation...just a few seconds...rather than simply show comic art fading in and out. So basically this trailer is a modern version of the old Merry Marvel Marching Society cartoons where they literally just showed panel art and shook it.As for the book itself, someone mentioned Adam Hughes' GHOST and that's what I immediately thought of as well. Will this be any good? Well, it has Dini attached so that should make it better than most things out of the gate. And given how utterly CRAPPY comics are today, that should really put it out in front. But even with that said, I agree with others that books about porn-looking women for the SAKE of showcasing a hot babe character is what caused the comic implosion and near death of the industry in the the Nineties, egged on by a ton of exceedingly poor Image Comics and everyone that tried to imitate them, where publishers pushed art and hot babes over actual content. So while Dini is definitely talented, I don't need a Madame Mirage just to see big tits. If I want to see a hot babe, I can turn on the Playboy Channel or simply surf the web. Comics should be more than women heaving their chests out in every freakin' panel to the point that their backs would be broken!
-
His work was amazing back in the day, and his unique art style and in particular his attention to panel detail -- particularly on his run on DETECTIVE and the Bat universe -- was just incredible. He really was one of those artists who made a TRUE mark on what he touched, and his talent...and most certainly the man himself...will surely be missed. Rest in Peace, Marshall. You go to a better place having given so much enjoyment to so many. Thanks for sharing your vision with us all.
-
What a cool tribute THAT would be. As *limited* as color was back in those days, ...it would be cool to skip the computer generated stuff, and have someone like Alex Ross hand-color some transfers of Marshall Rogers' original art, ...though I'd hope they would transfer the outstanding ink-work, as well. How 'bout it, DC COMICS? How about a Marshall Rogers SPECIAL EDITION??? PLEASE???
-
Yeah, glad somebody else spotted this. Still, I'm a big Dini and Horn fan so will be looking out for this one.
