Updated! AICN Exclusive! First look at a Webisode from Stephen King's THE MIST!!!
Check out the newly updated version with a higher resolution and an added "Stephen King's" on THE MIST, which is the official title. STEPHEN KING'S THE MIST. It's at the link below!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The good folks putting together THE MIST have another treat for you AICN readers. They're about to kick off a series of "webisodes," their own production diaries.
I'm not sure how regular the webisodes will be, but we know there's definitely one and you can view it below!
The first webisode takes place during the earthquake scene I talked about in my set reports. You'll also get a cameo appearance by a talented comic book artist and writer and glimpses of some of the characters.
I've also just locked down a return visit for next week, so keep an eye out for further reports... I won't show you my cards yet, but I will say I'm lookin' at seeing a great creature scene. Can't wait! In the meantime, here's Frank Darabont welcoming you to the set!
Here's the link!!!

They seem to really want to go above and beyond for AIC

Ners .... Just started to reread the story yesterday - I can not wait. Whle you're there, get him to spill on that Indy script!
-
.....looking forward to this movie Quint!
It's been quite awhile since there's been a really entertaining monster movie. Even longer, for a decent Stephen King adaptation.
I have faith in Frank Darabont's talent as a film maker, and his desire to do The Mist justice.
Great webisode AICN! -
...until MUCH closer to the release date. Seriously, the anticipation over this one is gonna kill me.
-
darabonts city of gods was about. great webisode too. cant wait
-
The man's got great charisma and he's very witty. I bet he'd be a charming guy to hang out with in real life, not just on the set. Looking incredibly forward to this film. :)
-
a return visit which hopefully lasts for the remainer of the duration of the shoot. Quint, dude, make sure your set reports are just as detailed as the last ones. They were the best things this site has had for a long time.
-
....thats a 'really entertaining monster movie'.... if not one of THE MOST entertaining.
-
Thank goodness for Frank D. He more than makes up for the less talented Mick Garris and his lame adaptations. The Mist is going to rock. I can feel it in my bones. Well, in at least one of them.
-
is tricky - not the "night flyer" -but not Mick Garris's Shining.
The youtube video below does capture the essence of King- and the stop motion Dragon in the middle would fit right into the mist....

Any director that gives a shout out to The Goon comic book is awesome. I cant wait.
-
...he seems nice.

You're a lucky man, Mr. Quint.

Thanks to Mr Darabont for letting AICN post this-all this stuff is just going to make me all the more excited and pumped to see the film. The scene seemed a bit more intense than how I pictured it- I kind of thought it'd be a slight shift (kind of like how the bedroom shifted in 'The Green Mile'). But I'm not complaining-I just want to see some more, and hopefully, any future webisodes won't give away too much of the creature effects.
-
The overhead shot during the earthquake where you see the entire store - that's exactly how I've always envisioned the store. I agree completely with Fred4sure about the look and the anti-Garris sentiments. Please Gan, let this rock.
-
Damn you, Mrs. Carmody.

I've been in the "Core Group" of extras. We've been on the set for just about the entire month. Guys, it has been an HONOR to work with Frank. He is really just as cool as you'd want him to be. I've been fortunate to actually be a "Featured" extra.. working directly with some of the principles, like Marcia Gay Harden, Jeff DeMunn & Toby Jones. But also along side Brian Libby, Bill Sadler, Buck Taylor, Thomas Jane, and some of the best crew in the industry. Some of my favorites have been Jeff DeMunn and David Jensen! It has been an incredible experience. It's been a great set to work on, everyone has really been fantastic. Even the "day players" have just been a joy. There are several that aren't listed on imdb, but are fantastic. Juan Pareja, Walter, Miss Ginnie, Kim Wall, I hate to leave anyone out. I have a few pictures on my website, with more to come. If anyone's interested, I'd be happy to share stories... but I don't want to "give anything away!" Quint, great site... looking forward to seeing more of the webisodes. It's fun to watch that, having been right there!
thanks
