Fox will use the almost-last installment of this year’s “American Idol” as a lead-in to “On The Lot,” the new filmmaker-search reality show from producer Mark Burnett (“Survivor,” “The Apprentice,” “Rock Star”) and filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

Spielberg didnt like our film that we submitted

    by triplefive

i think it shows promise, considering it was our first and made for $50 http://films.thelot.com/films/14811 I thought it was slightly uneven though, considering even one of the fucking Coppolas had a movie on the OTL website. cocksmoker.

I've missed every episode of ER

    by inwosuxred

I don't ever remember it being associated with Spielberg, but either way I'm not watching. I didn't even take a look when Lindsey from Freaks and Geeks joined up. I watched Steve's version of the Twighlight Zone when I was young, but his shows always come in hyped as amazing and that they can't miss because he is the greatest director in the universe, and then whimper away. At this point, I expect most "reality" shows to get cancelled, especially ones like this that will essentially require showing student films on prime-time network TV. I don't buy that the general public has any interest in it, and if they did, IFC and Sundance would be the hottest channels on cable. Thus, I predict this one goes away fast, and will be remembered as a mistake by the very few people that watch it. This show sounds so unimaginative, and there have been quite a few shows that have done this contest already with slightly smaller names attatched(Mirmax/Assfleck/Damon?). None of them were particularly successful. Whoever directs the best film this week gets to live in luxury and gets to choose which filmmaker goes to exile island! Yay. I hope Spielberg makes grown men and women humiliate themselves and treat him like the pope the way Trump does. Whats his lame catch phrase going to be when he coldly eliminates an aspiring director? "You didn't make the cut?"

    I'm not watching this shit...

    by filmcritic3000

Reality shows aren't reality at all and are the epitome of banality.

Spielberg needs to get back to making great movies again. "Duel" was his best film, IMHO. Oh wait...he's too busy bitching that shows like "Heroes" are too violent and that TV needs even more regulation. Ass.

    TV needs more walkie talkies!

I hope this show is good enough to provide us with at least one clip on the Soup before it gets dropped.

"Reality TV" bites a big dick. I have never seen any "reality TV "and am proud of it, Real actors that study their craft are put on the back burner and out of work for this shit.
