The Chinese RATATOUILLE Trailer Is Way Different That The Trailer We Got!!

The Chinese trailer for Disney/Pixar’s RATATOUILLE has hit YouTube.
It’s significantly different from the American trailer – featuring an extended sequence of “set up” from the film.
SEE IT!!!
I love the rendering of the foggy Parisian night. I'm eager to see how this film shakes out. CARS was cold and creepy to me (never could shake the sense that it was set in a formerly human world in which machines had overthrown mankind and now dominated the Earth); it never really came to life for me. This might make up for it.

I saw this trailer when I was at Pixar two weeks ago, and I also saw the new domestic trailer which we should get in front of MEET THE ROBINSONS. They emphasize very different aspects of the film, and I think if you like this one, you'll flip for the domestic version.

That seem to imply that the Cars built that world. Now, where the Cras came from and why things were human scale? Who the fuck knows? Maybe the Kansas State Educational Board in the Cars universe teaches that cars were created by the great Model T in the sky.

When I saw the American trailer, I thought, "Great. Pixar is finally gonna have a TYPICAL talking animal movie", and none of the American marketing had changed my mind. This Chinese trailer makes the movie look good, original and inspired. NOW, I can't wait for it.

Everyone is always bitching about too many talking animal films. There's no talking here. Just acting. I'm overwhelmed by the subtle movements and gestures. This is JUST what it takes to make appealing characters.

Dear council estate scumbag, Shrek sucks the life out of anyone that sees it. Shrek is a horrible abortion of a movie that's pop culture jokes were dated ten minutes after it was released. It made over 920 million dollars. MTV is a vacuous void that is destroying the minds of our future by turning complete morons into icons. The people that dumb down the industry are the public as a whole and brain dead executives who have no idea what is good, not me. If that was the most touching thing you've ever seen than you have only seen, at the most, two touching things in your life and that's sad. The animation and acting are amazing, I work at one of the top three animation houses so I know a little bit about that. I wasn't saying it wasn't a good scene, I was saying as a trailer it wasn't good. Of course I want to see it, Brad Bird is an amazing director. Look me in the eyes and tell me the trailers for the last 3 Pixar films were good. DO IT! I just thought this trailer showed a little to much and was a tad cheesy. It takes a little more than 2 minutes to get me vested in a character to care enough about that character to be moved. That's a character trait of no attention span and the MTV generation my friend.

one of my mates is an animator at a top London studio and he cant see the fucking wood for the trees sometimes. he's outa touch with the fucking general public, likes he's in a bubble that celebrates oddness, crapness mediocrity but not what REALLY matters. what a pretentious cunt! film insiders are cool, but seriously need to fucking check themselves and stay rooted to where its at and not lose touch with the general public, and worse still patronise them. what an Oxbridge cunt. if he came down my estate me and the lads would fucking educate the cunt.

No, humans, did not exist in the world of Cars. The cars somehow evolved that way. Silly man.
However, that's a fucking trailer. That's capturing some old school fucking Disney vibe. Which I am still all about in a very big way.
SO Jack might have suffered for this trailer. However, it got me interested in this movie. Pixar might do it again one more time. -

That whole cars took over the world thing was the vibe I was feeling. I didn't actually believe that was what they meant (and I don't think you did either), but it just felt like that the entire time. Creepy and inexplicable. Oh, and it ripped off Doc Hollywood, which didn't help matters either.

That's sort of how I felt about the movie too. The cars have steering wheels and seats and everything! They MUST have been invented by a race of men that was later overthrown and exterminated.

The cars all had their windows frosted opaque. There's no way to tell if there were seats and steering wheels inside or if it wasn't just more mechanical parts, and none of them ever opened their doors. What film were you watching?

Speaking as someone who's been studying Chinese for the last two years, I can safely say this is Chinese. It uses traditional characters, so it's probably aimed at either Taiwan or Hong Kong rather than at mainland China (which uses a different writing system). The subtitles have Chinese characters that don't exist in Japanese, there are no Japanese kana at all, and the grammar and vocabulary is Chinese. I suspect most Japanese people would have trouble reading those subtitles, though they could probably get the general idea. If that is really aimed at Japan, Pixar has a marketing person who needs to be fired.
