ROME’s Titus Pullo Lands Lead In CBS’ Living Dead Pilot!!
I am – Hercules!!
The Hollywood Reporter is chock full of casting news Tuesday morning. A lot of it involves HBO stars migrating to network pilots.
* Ray Stevenson, who portrays the brutal yet good-natured Titus Pullo on “Rome,” will play a small-town detective in CBS’ zombie dramedy pilot “Babylon Fields.” It was announced late last week that Amber Tamblyn (“Joan of Arcadia”) had been cast in the same pilot.
* Lauren Ambrose, kid-sister Claire Fisher on “Six Feet Under,” has been cast opposite Parker Posey in “The Return of Jezebel James,” the new sitcom from “Gilmore Girls” mastermind Amy Sherman-Palladino. I’m guessing Ambrose plays the estranged but fertile younger sister of the successful but infertile Posey character.
* Molly Parker, who played Alma Garret on “Deadwood” (and is not to be confused with Polly Walker, who plays Antony’s girlfriend Atia on “Rome”), has been cast in CBS’ “Swingtown,” about the wife-swapping ‘70s.

uno?

whats this zombie thing on CBS? Where can i know more about it?
-
its the most important thing i could think of to say!
-
Well I guess this is as close as this site will come to having a ROME talkback. I guess It'll haveta do...
-
So Ray Stevenson is going to be in a show about zombies? If I understood that correctly I'm effin psyched!!! Although if anyone should do a zombie show it should be HBO. Speaking of, aren't they creating a vampire show as we speak!?
-
really, whats that slave girl up to? she is trying to bang everyone... im beginning to wonder wtf her character is. Pullo's slave rape scene... i could live without it! i didnt even get to see any tit meat, and you know im dying to see them!
-
The slave chick is just a power monger, hence trying to sleep with men of power. Anyways she'll be killed off next epidode, mark my words. She'll feed Pullos wife that poison powder stuff and Pullo will kiill her.
-
Is if Polly Walker was in the wipe swapping show. She's real pretty. Not that the other woman is unattractive. What I'm trying to say is that I would derive sexual gratification from her body. Just so we're clear.
-
I just read a few descriptions on what the show will be about, sounds like it's gonna blow. Now a straight up Zombie drama starring Pullo on HBO would rock! This, not so much...
-
at least we got to see a full screen shot of someone washing here titty. The slave girl wants to be Pullo's wife to get more power and status. Brilliant episode I think. The stuff with Atia was pretty damn good and on top of that we get a twisted wedding. God I feel for Octavia. Octavian turned into a real nasty peace of political cock.
-
A zombie "dramedy"? Oh boy...
-
Thats what I was going to say. Boo! Did you see yesterdays? "Now thats what I call an exit". What a fucking line. Classic show. Ray znd zombies. Yay!!!
-
And I'm liking this season maybe more that last...probably because it's the last season and they're squeezing in all the historical events they can.
-
who played Ellsworth on Deadwood now has a recurring roll on Supernatural.
-
let's hope it's great.
-
I was kind of underwhelmed by this latest episode of Rome. There was barely any plot development on the part of the major historical characters (lots of groundwork for the following episodes though). If anything, this felt more like filler given that most of the running time was spent on the second-tier ahistorical characters. This is why I disagree with the people complaining about the series ending after the second season. Sure, Pullo and Vorenus are great, but the rest of the second-tier ahistorical characters aren't. They'd need a lot more characters like Pullo and Vorenus to carry the show beyond Octavian's victory over Marc Antony.Having said that, yeah, Gaia is hawt. She's going to feed the abortifacient she picked up at the apothecary's shop to Eirene and cause her to have a miscarriage. Pullo or Vorenus will find what's left of the drugs, and realize that the miscarriage was no accident. This will prompt Pullo to ream Gaia a new one (so to speak). With a gladius (*giggle*).Oh yeah, once again, Simon Woods has failed to play Octavian as well as Max Pirkis would have, had they kept him in the role. *sigh* Woods' Octavian is not even close to being one tenth as calculating and brilliant as Pirkis' was. Biggest mistake of the show.
-
Sounds great to me. I'm in!
-
Why not just call it Shaun of the Dead, the tv series? Sounds like that's what they're trying to do. But I do love Pullo. But I'd rather see him in Series 3 of Rome. I can't believe that's not gonna happen. It's SUCH a great show.
-
AND theres a zombie show on the way?!? Aaah...Life is good.

AND Anna Paquin is in Alan Balls new Vampire show?!?
by carmillavondoom
Am I dreaming!?!? Where is futureguy when I need him! ;^)
-
The novels Alan Ball is basing the series on are total shit. I love vampire stories, not lame Anne Rice rip-offs with werejaguars and weredogs. I'll watch for Anna but the source material is strictly 7th grade creative writing class.
-
I do remember hearing about a Zombie show, i think it was on Fox. wasn't it Kevin Williamson or am i thinking of something else. i remember hearing that it was great. I like the guy who plays Pullo so it'll be good to see him in another show, especially one about zombies. it's still hard for me to watch CBS though.
-
Fucking best line of the season! And I disagree on the new Octavian/ Augustus/ whatever... I think he's doing a remarkable job. He has the intellect of the kid but is a little quieter, solemn, and evil do to all the war and backstabbing he's experienced firsthand. Also, what the fuck is up with people repeating exactly what I've just said on these forums without giving any recognition of agreeance? Do I come off as that much of an asshole or do you simply not understand what the fuck I've just said? I'm serious, I feel like the invisible man here, fuck!
-
Do you think Pullos going to kill the slave or fuck her!? I guess he could fuck her to death tho, I mean it is HBO...
-
...as Dirge would be great...he would barely need any makeup. Imagine him swinging a shovel to the tune of Mozart's Dies Irae. But who to play Zoe? The ubiquitous Dakota Fanning? Our 21st Century Jodie Foster is a little bundle of talent, but this really calls for a 21st Century Cristina Ricci.
-
so i might check out whatever this new show is she'll be on.
-
"Now that, is an exit." Fucking best line of the season!
-
I love that line... By itself it might not be much, but in it's context it's fucking perfect!!
-
Octavian is very reminiscent of the young Malcom MCdowell? He's got that cold snakeeyes thing going that's pretty cool.
-
not 13. Thats been buging the shit out of me.
-
The 1st book is on my queue at the library; haven't read any of them yet. BUT, Anna Paquin will certainly make it worth at least the first few eps...on that we BOTH agree! :^)
-
Anything with Ray Stevenson will get me to tune in. Same goes for Kevin McKidd.
-
Thank you Dirka! It's been bugging the shit outta me too!
You know I was just thinking the other day I haven't seen Ray Stevenson in much else and what a shame that was...
That said, it's reeeeeeeeeeally stretching my imagination trying to picture zombies that are so clever it takes a detective to find them? -
Happy, dammit? ;)
-
Didn't anyone see that bit about a wifswapping '70 show!!!!!! Time to go rent Beyond the Green Door first.
-
I think you're mistaking McDowell's cold, maleficent intelligence for Woods' bewildered constipation.
-
THIS...IS...SPARTA!!
