The Hollywood Reporter is chock full of casting news Tuesday morning. A lot of it involves HBO stars migrating to network pilots.
* Ray Stevenson, who portrays the brutal yet good-natured Titus Pullo on “Rome,” will play a small-town detective in CBS’ zombie dramedy pilot “Babylon Fields.” It was announced late last week that Amber Tamblyn (“Joan of Arcadia”) had been cast in the same pilot.
* Lauren Ambrose, kid-sister Claire Fisher on “Six Feet Under,” has been cast opposite Parker Posey in “The Return of Jezebel James,” the new sitcom from “Gilmore Girls” mastermind Amy Sherman-Palladino. I’m guessing Ambrose plays the estranged but fertile younger sister of the successful but infertile Posey character.
* Molly Parker, who played Alma Garret on “Deadwood” (and is not to be confused with Polly Walker, who plays Antony’s girlfriend Atia on “Rome”), has been cast in CBS’ “Swingtown,” about the wife-swapping ‘70s.
