Just caught the end of Fox Reality’s awful “Rob & Ambuh: Against The Odds.” Slow Rob Mariano, who’s already lost one “Amazing Race” and two “Survivors,” demonstrated that he couldn’t make money as a pro poker player in the space of three months, but decided to stick with it – presumably because Ambuh still has a few “Survivor” bucks left in her bank account.
In the final episode, the duo get a call from their agent (yep, they’ve got a agent) asking if they want to do “Amazing Race All-Stars.” ANOTHER free shot at another million dollars, and Rob says he’s got to think about it.
Man’s a genius. And Ambuh gets less attractive every day she sticks with him. I hope Charla the dwarf puts their asses in last place during the first elmination round.

I seem to recall most of the hate coming from talkbackers a few years ago, but now it's about fifty-fifty. Most people in the same situation as Rob would do the same thing: milk reality TV for all it's worth.

Amber is the hottest chick on reality tv and Rob is the shrewdest cat to play the game; they should win. The moves he pulled on TAR 7 were worthy of Michaevlli.

People who watch lowest common denominator crap like War at Home, current Simpsons, and Family Guy but didn't watch AD killed AD. A particularly weak storyline in the early part of the third season didn't help.

and I think I've watched just about every season. Where are the hippies? I also wouldn't have minded seeing Bolo stumble around again. I also enjoy the line "The fraternity brothers from Season 1 are all grown up and married. " from the CBS website, as it makes it sound like the frat guys married eachother.

The best team from the first season! They are the most likable people to ever play the race, with the exception of maybe Chip & Kim and the Hippies. They MADE season one. I remember when they had to do a challenge where they had to ride in a small plane piloted by this old dude. Drew said "Me and Uncle Junior here are gonna go for a ride."

I'm not sure why eveyone has it in for Rob and Amber. They played the game better than anyone else and they did it without bickering and yelling at each other. His move with the meat challenge was brilliant as was tipping the bus driver not to open the back doors of the bus. The Race and Survivor are not "reality TV" they're game shows and Rob knows how to play them. I'd root for him or Kevin and Drew. I'd also root for Charla to hook up with Phil because it would piss Mirna off something fierce.

Don't forget that these guys invented alot of the techniques that the racers use today. They were the first to borrow cell phones and use travel agents. They are smart and much more evil than Rob and his ventriloquist's dummy. Of course they are also the only team to finish in 3rd and NEVER cross the finish line. I still remember them sitting in Alaska at the last challenge.

I have said it before and I will say it again... they are always the only couples team that never fights, always does well, and screws over everyone else. They are the perfect reality TV couple.

Sure, they're a little cocky, and Rob's accent is annoying, but they back it up with results. I found the 2nd place couple from last season far more annoying -- the dude with anger management problems and the whiny chick who inexplicably let him push her around and is probably a battery victim now. Jonathan and Victoria. The mom and daughter team that all the other teams hated in the family edition.The hippies are missing because they weren't asked back, which kinda irked them.

was one of the most entertaining bits ever. They dressed in amusing "rich people" outfits after they won the race. Not asking the hippies back is just plain stupid. Its amazing how little personality can be found in this group of all stars.

who was eliminated last night? because of golf or some shit pushing the start of the show back, i only got 30 minutes on my dvr. what happened in the second half of the show?
also, i get the amber/rob hate only because amber is absolutely useless. i used to hate boston rob, but i have to admit, the dude has grown on me, because he is much smarter than he lets on, and knows how to manipulate people. he was one of the most dominant players ever on survivor all-stars, and he knew enough to play up his "celebrity" status and ask people to show him around when he did amazing race. the guy is a dumbass, but he's a pretty savvy dumbass. in addition...i'd personally like to see Charla do well, except for the fact that her doing well also means Mirna does well...and Mirna is nearly as useless as Amber, if not moreso. Also...no hippies = bogus, man. just totally bogus. -

For all the people touting Robb's greatness - he's made some good moves in both races, but many of the things he's been praised for (bribing the bus driver, etc.) didn't get him any advantage in the race. His stunts did get him air time and let him gloat over his supposed 'cleverness' in screwing other people over. If you think that's admirable, you're welcome to it. I don't. (Let me remind you of one of Robb's 'clever' stunts - he asked another team if they had 'gotten on the earlier flight' just to mess with their heads. That inspired them to check and they actually *found* an earlier flight, leaving Robb and company at a disadvantage. That was cheeky fun for the cameras, but NOT SMART RACING.)
