Gob Bluth is a SPACE INVADER!!!

Published at:  Feb 15, 2007 5:22:17 AM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with one more story to post before I can catch some beauty sleep before my birthday dinner/poker game.

This flick, set up at Fox Atomic, is a comedy called SPACE INVADER and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT's Will Arnett will star as an astronaut in a love triangle (whoops)... the catch is it's set on a space station.

Gob Bluth is in it. That's all I know and all I care about. I'm in... unless the trailer is PLUTO NASH bad.

    Based on the video game

I hope so. It would be funny if it was a seriously done sci-fi comedy adventure with cg action comprable to the 70's videogame.

    I like Pluto Nash!

I don't like it enough to buy the DVD, but I saw it on TV and it was okay. Far away from being the worst film ever of the week.

    But What About Space"d" Invaders?

    by aquatarkusman

Deputy Pillsbury: No license, no registration, no plates, no headlights, no taillights, no WHEELS, and I caught you going 3000 miles per hour. That's [punches on calculator] 2945 miles per hour in excess of the posted limit. // Blaznee: Great. There goes my insurance.

Hell, I'd be in just to watch Will Arnett run around at the bottom of the screen for two hours firing desperately into the air.

    You just know...

    by darkman

That the studio was sitting on this script for years, then the REAL situation hit the fan and they were like, 'Oh, shit. We GOTTA fast-track this!'. Also, I fear that someone might be prepping a film version of the game for real. I'm not the only one.

I would seriously be excited if this was a gay love triangle set on a space station, with two gay guys and one straight guy - let the hilarity and life lessons begin. That would be awesome funniness. As it is, this will be some insufferable crapfest.

(SPOILER WARNING) The film's finale will be...

    by spyguy

...an impressive display of CGI where the heroes shoot repeatedly into their own defensive shield, creating a hole that allows them to shoot the UFO that taunts them vertically overhead.

Hollywood is just watching Venture Brothers DVDs to brainstorm now, isn't it? When are we going to get a DR. STRANGE movie where Wong is replaced by Strange's teenage goth daughter?
