"Spiderman Unlimited" / "The Avengers" follow-up

...with a bit of a follow-up to HREF="http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=3115">last week's report regarding
Spiderman Unlimited. HREF="http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=3115">Last week's report posted
images of Spiderman, the logo fopr the series, etc. - promptng a deluge of questions about the new
project.

For example: "Since Spiderman looks futuristic in the pictures, it the project basically
Spiderman 2099?" Things of that nature.

Well, thanks to the efforts of DANE WHITMAN, here are answers to a few of these
questions:




** The series will be for FoxKids, probably airing this Fall.

** The title of the series is indeed Spiderman Unlimited.

** The concept is not an adaptation of Spiderman 2099. In fact, my
sense of the SU concept is that it is being specifically generated for this series - but
perhaps I am misinterpreting.

** The costume design displayed in HREF="http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=3115">last week's report is
not the final costume for the series. There's a developemental process which goes into the
making of any series. Presumably, the images I posted were part of the developmental / design
process, and not reflective of the final costume design.

** Peter Parker will be the lead character in Spiderman Unlimited.





Given the number of questions the images raised, I wanted to be sure to answer as many as I
could given the information slipped to me by Dane Whitman.

By the way, while the
Spiderman designs reflect a work in progress, there has been strong indication that The
Avengers designs HREF=http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=3134>(previously posted on
Coaxial) are - more or less - the correct designs which will be used for a new series, also
expected this Fall.

    THOSE are the costumes they're gonna go with? With the exception of Wonder Man, they were AWFUL. Good lord, it's like they got Joel Schumaker to put 'em together? Is Hawkeye gonna have nipples, too?

    Blake, foxkids believes in one thing "update for the 90's". Always. I'm not interested in the Avengers show, i never got into the characters. Hawkman didnt look THAT bad, he just looks different(for the 90's). Time will tell..........

    Well, I guess they'll finally be replacing that series that has been canceled for years now. Anyway, I never have had a problem with foxkids. Cosidering that it is aimed at the 5-11 year olds. In other words, if you're expecting B5, get out. I really like the godzilla series. Once again, it is a big monster series, and its not like the focus is the story. I will always think that the classic japennsess godzilla is the only true godzilla. You can get some of the latest movies off of reel.com,godzilla vs. king ghidora and godzilla vs. destroyer. They kick that terrible amercian movies ass. Anyway, fox kids is aimed at 5-11 year olds. Its not like they could understand B5(there are exceptions of course).
