New Look At SPIDER-MAN 3! Very Cool!
Hey folks, Harry here - just back from THE ASTRONAUT FARMER - really good flick - but here's what I got when I checked mail - a look at SPIDER-MAN 3 was waiting for me! GLEE! Not a terrible bunch of new stuff here - but you do see various Sandman hand shapes - the mace and the hammer I think are new - and I love them. This just keeps looking better and better. Check it out and see for yourself...

i cant wait for this one

They have most of the cool superhero movie news up before you ever do. You might want to check it out now and then.... or wait for your own site to pick it up and be behind the curve.
-
This had better kick so much ass...
-
ill grant you the lame "first" comment...silly
-
sorry to break it to all of you, but its true, his appearance at the end will lead to the fourth movie
-
You know it to be true.
-
That Sony is completely downplaying the Venom angle in this movie heh... nothing bad there, just saying that it's nice they're not overhyping it.
-
will this be the army of darkness of the spiderman series?
-
I get pumped to see each film everytime and I'm left dumbstruck at how overrated each of them is... just plain unsatisfying once the end credits appear. Tobey Maguire's acting/line delivery is HORRIBLE... emotionless and/or forced. He was great in Seabiscuit... why can't he be great in Spider-Man movies? The effects make the movie borderline The Incredibles... which in the animation world is excellent, but in the real world of live action is terrible. The ONLY good thing in my eyes is James Franco as Harry. That is the ONE aspect of the franchise that is pure and full of depth. Everything Peter goes through is handled with extreme cliche. Maybe it's just Tobey and the effects overall. Who knows? But everytime, like now as I am once again thinking "Wow, this COULD be better", the movie comes out bland. I'm no hater at all. They are not FUCKING HORRIBLE (as most TBers in their black or white world would say) by any means. Just nowhere near the quality in acting, story, and effects along the lines of Batman Begins and the X-Men movies. And hell, even Superman Returns to a lesser extent. SR fucked up by slow pacing and lack of a better villian/storyline. But the acting was there. The effects were the best! The casting was right for the most part (I'm on the fence with Lois... she wasn't bad casting, just could have been better). Anyways, Spider-Man just doesn't do it for me. Yet.
-
...each one of the Spidey movies is quality, top to bottom, and III looks like more of the same.
-
wow, i saw this at least 2 days ago...way to be on top of things...cool nontheless
-
Change it. Please, thank you.
-
there won't be a fourth movie. It's already been stated by half the cast, and Raimi himself.
-
Some may disagree, but that is just my opinion. I think Raimi was just an excellent choice to direct these movies. They have just the right mix of fun and pathos for the character, and they are really true to the spirit of the comic books.*****I was never a huge Spidey fan, but I love Marvel comics (Grew up on them) and I'm glad that Raimi's Spiderman movies have done so well, for it's own sake, but also for the fact that their success will now allow other Marvel comics characters to be put on film.*****I am hoping that a good Captain America movie will be made (in WWII period, or split between WWII and modern times), and have my fingers crossed for Favreau's take on Iron Man (another favorite character).*****It's funny that Topher Grace has been cast in this movie as Eddie Brock. Back when SPIDERMAN was being developed, I joked that Topher Grace and his THAT 70s SHOW co-star Laura Prepon would make a good Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. I was only half kidding about Prepon, though. She is almost a dead-ringer for the Mary Jane Watson character from the comics. And Topher Grace had the same skinny nerd look as the Parker character. Anyway, just funny that he should end up in one of these Spiderman movies. Maybe if Tobey MacGuire declines to make anymore Spiderman movies they will recast with Topher as Peter Parker. You know the studio will want to continue making Spiderman movies even if the principals (MacGuire, Dunst, Raimi) do not sign on for more. It's too much of a cash cow.
-
They should just make this a full CGI movie. Nothing's worse than being hit in the face with CGI every 2 minutes. Btw, Parker's emo.
-
... a ditz. I will never forgive her for suggesting that Spiderman die in Number 3. What a complete idiot...
-
...it really does
-
Yeah, so apparently Bryce Dallas Howard is "heavy" in this movie according to some people, but she looks pretty hot to me. Seems like the epitome of unrealistic standards, methinks.
-
So it's Maguire's fault that the character doesn't "talk" like Peter Parker? Moron.
-
This gets better and better every time I see more of it. Only Rant Breath's violent death by sodomy could make me happier. GLEE!
-
And that's really saying something. Um, seeing as how Tobey Maguire IS Peter Parker, doesn't that then mean that he sounds like Peter Parker?
-
Latest scoop! http://tinyurl.com/2edksr
-
I like the first two Spiderman movies, but I hate to see this becoming just another cash cow for the studio. Why is it that, whenever something great comes along, it gets run into the ground with countless sequels? Does anyone out there think that they WON'T keep making sequels (with or without Sam) until they can't squeeze another nickel out of Spiderman?
-
....that it's too damn entertaining. And let's not forget just how much Raimi nails the character by sticking as close to the source material as possible with a few necessary adaptations (like organic-webshooters and the like), while still delivering an entertaining movie. What's up with that? I mean, that just rubs me the wrong way, to no end. Don't even get me started on how Tobey MacGurie nails the whole Peter Parker as-a-down-on-his-luck everyday geek just like he is in the comics. I mean, what were they thinking. This isn't a Superhero movie. How the crap did they make all that money anyway, puling crap like this? No, if you want to do a Superhero movie right, then you have to make wholesale changes to everything from stupid costume designs ( turning him into some kind of leather-bound fetish-freak with silly looking boots and a laughably small insignia) to idiotic changes to his core character traits by making him.......oh I don't know, let's say....a stalker, and...er.....a....deadbeat dad who sulks and is moody all the time, with inconsistent and illogical vulnerability to his Achilles heel, which only works when it "feels" like it. That would work. That would be a Superhero movie I would pay to see. I mean, who cares if it struggles at the box-office to break even and takes three times as long as "Night at the motherfrakking Museum" to break $200 million at the Box Office.Who cares? Right? Who gives a rat's ass if it alienates a majority of the fanbase, with its idiotic revisions and sets the entire franchise back further than the previous movie that sent it into development hell for all those years, in the first place.
This whole sticking-close-to-the-source-material thing just doesn't do it for me. We need silly revisions that don't vibe with the comics, crappy ( read: booooring) story-lines that don't make sense, annoying supporting actresses, and moody-deadbeat-dad-stalker lead characters, to really hit the spot. Anyways, Spider-Man just doesn't do it for me. Yet.
(......oh and in case you missed it,I enjoy being a contrarian blockhead just for the sake of being different; even when 90% of the crap I write makes less sense while making me look like an idiot. - Shout out to moto) -
WTF is wrong with this site... why aren't you ever on the ball anymore... I've taken to getting my geek news from elsewhere now (ign, etc) because you are so slow bringing us the news. is it cause your too busy banging your girlfriend all the time to care anymore?... i remember when this site used to have the exclusives months before any other site could say jack robinson. sad........ so sad.
-
The reason we have bad preconceived thoughts about sequels is because they usually suck. Spiderman wasn't half bad ;)
-
Is that Tobey Maguire in no way captures the Peter Parker from the comics - and yeah, it's the writing, too. I'm hoping that in 3 we at least get a scene with some actual spideyquips and not just some mopey guy who's depressed and cries because he's got superpowers. I have certainly been entertained by the films, but they just seem to be missing something. Make fun of Superman all you want, but at least he doesn't cry like a wuss. He keeps it nice and repressed like a real man should. I'm also joking. I don't really compare Spiderman and Superman. I like 'em both and don't feel the need to trash one to promote the other, which also puts me in the minority on this site.
-
They should make some comic books out of that idea.
-
... appreaciate more of what Raimi has brought us
-
did i say plop i ment plot, how can they uncle ben's killer is still on the loose he was got in the first movie.
-
I am going to have to agree with the comments on Spiderman being good but the acting was choppy. The second movie , the actors did a much better job. And stop hating on Supes. They did a decent job and Singer will do better the second time around just like the X2. I definately favor Superman Returns' acting. But in the end Supes, The Bat, and Spidey are the top three superhero movies i will always go see no matter what... Add Hellboy to that list also. What an amazing comic book adaptation. Ron Perlman is a fine example of perfect casting.
-
That is what worries me about this one... too many characters/villins and stuff going on at once. The movie sounds bogged down and congested already. If it's the last Spidey film, I guess going out this way would make sense but... I hope they don't plan more of these if they plan to just shove too much into them that it makes it tiring to watch.
-
Except for the whole 'This is the real killer of your uncle' crap. I hate it when they change the coherancy of films like that. It's like saying "Hey we fucked up, we should have done it this way, please forgive us and just accept it" It's not really what i call a creative way to introduce the character

1st two were solid dont see why this one wont be
by allpowerfulwizardofoz
I loved the 1st two installments. I've read Spiderman since I was a child and I have to give credit to Sam Raimi for doing a wonderful job with the character. I think the 3rd one will be the best one yet. I have high hopes since the 1st two did not disappoint.
However I think the series should come to an end after this installment because I fear it will get stale by the 4th movie and chances are all the original people involved in these first three would not be involved.
Curious to as what bit part Bruce Campbell will have in this installment. -
Always a pleasure...
-
Yawn...
-
Singer will do better with Supes next time like he did with X2. Seriously, go watch X2 again. it's the dullest most boring piece of shit superhero film EVA!!How I wish Brett Ratner had of brought Superman back
-
Damn you Michael Bay
-
That 99 % of these talkbackers will ever
and I mean ever have anything to do with the movie business. Other than buying a ticket, of course. A ticket, BTW, that they were forced to purchase with a gun placed against their head so Hollywood can continue to shove their crap down poor John Q's throat. It's all about me, btw, cause I like, know everything -
to know what the hell I'm doing. ah fuck it, Looks good anyway
-
Can he do whatever a spider can?
Mwhahahhahahahaha!!!
Putzes. -
And this movie looks to be pretty outstanding. Also, I would really enjoy getting naked with Bryce Dallas Howard.
-
Yeah and how exactly is having Sandman be Uncle Ben's real killer, a neccesary change to the overall plot - oh wait maybe it is so he can utter the completely non-cliche line: "This time it's personal."
-
It's really sad how everyone on this site unloads on SR. That film wasn't perfect at all. Not by a long chalk. But it was way better than you people are trying to make out. You guys don't know you're born. YOU ACTUALLY DON'T REALIZE YOU'RE FUCKING BORN. End of message.
-
And yes I wouldn't mind being under her either. But don't you think it would be a bit wierd, knowing you're boning Richie Cunninghams little daughter? What happens when Uncle Fonz comes round, finds you 8 inches deep, and gives you a smack?
-
Instead of watching a million out of context clips?
-
...I am really very excited about this one. In fact, far too excited for a man of my age. It is not decent.Damn you, Sam Raimi and your Sony corporation buddies, for making these enjoyable and entertaining interpretations of the Spider-Man story! Don't you know you were supposed to cast Freddie Prinze jnr and put Spidey in some kind of black leather Matrix-y outfit?
-
Is the worst of all the actors in the SM films. Unskilled and hamey, at best. Due in part to the cartoonish directing style.
-
I give Sony credit for that.
-
to act in these movies. EMOTE, DAMN YOU! Fact of the matter is, Batman Begins is THE best of all comic book movies. Face it, Spidey-fans. Begins owned Spiderman in every single possible way. Acting, story, visuals and directions. Spiderman 3 is a stop-gap for The Dark Knight.
-
and it'll be directed by Joel Schumacher after he's done with Gaiman's Sandman. You know it's possible. Gawd Hollywould is lame.
-
LOL! Kudos sir/madame! BTW does Zinj mean anything? If not, then doubly brilliant I say!
-
I love these films.
-
Acting? Definitely. Directing? Maybe. Story and visuals? I don't agree. At all. But that's such a subjective thing anyway, so it's not like it matters much what either of us think. Although I tend not to listen to anyone who says Tobey Maguire "doesn't try." Ohhh, I get it. Because he's got like, a monotone voice and stuff. Maguire works incredibly hard on these films. This is apparent enough for most people by looking at the finished product, but since you reflexively hate a Spider-Man whose voice is like, monotone and stuff, suffice it to that I seriously doubt he would put his physical safety (what with the back problems and all) in such constant risk if he didn't give a shit about what he was doing.
-
Tobe Maguire still looks and sounds like a pedophile.
-
They totally look like each other now. By the way, anyone see his new film in which he co-stars as a Bob Dylan-like character? I believe it is called Factory Girl.
-
...Topher Grace would have made a better Peter Parker, but Tobey has done an ok job with the scripts he's been giving.
The first Spider-Man film was good but not great (damn stupid Green Goblin costume).
Spider-Man 2 was a massive improvement. Doc Ock was great but there were still a few issues.
Spider-Man 3 should be good and I dont seen it being any worse than the first 2. I would be annoyed if Venom is only in the last 5 minutes.
Just for the record the first X-Men movie was boring, second X-Men film the first 10 minutes were brilliant the rest boring. and X-Men 3 worked well as an action film but rushed an important story to the franchise which was it's downfall. -
Kindly stop making fucking children's films and get back to what you're best at. Entertainment for grown ups.
Yours.
Smegmatron -
The entire second act would have been about Peter Parker scouring eBay for used red and blue scuba outfits, which he would then stitch together on a Singer sowing machine which he borrowed from Aunt May (Aunt May would also have a ten minute expository scene where she recalls the delightful yard sale where she first bought said sowing machine). The act would reach its peak as we watch Peter struggle with the injection moulding process for his raised webbing, not to mention trying on various types of underwear so as to minimise VPL when suited up.I'm sorry, Batman Begins, I thought you were pretty good, but you annoy me for some reason.
-
is that he's a one trick poney ass-clown that started a joke too early and refuses to go away. LET IT DIE! YOU'RE GOING TO SEE TRANSFORMERS OPENING DAY AND YOU FUCKING KNOW IT!
ps. i fucking hate you -
to be fair, batman's beginning was a bit more complicated than spidey's. batman had to develop his "power" while spider-man basically woke up with his.
-
I die a little bit inside every time I read one of his Damn You Michael Bay posts. They convey a level of tragedy that's on a par with Vegas-era Elvis performances, when he's all bloated and pathetic and trudging through his act while losing the will to live. It makes me want to cry. Please stop, MCMLXXVI, especially if your name is also your year of birth. If you have mastered the ability to type, there are better things you can do with your time. If, however, you are some kind of trained simian, I hereby retract these comments. You are a very clever monkey.
-
You're right, TSG, I'm being a little harsh. Batman Begins had its moments, but all that explaining really rubbed me the wrong way, and the more explaining they did, the more the story made no sense. That film had no imagination and assumed that none of the audience did, either. That bit at the hospital with all the bats was great, though.
-
last night. and i still really like it. maybe its cuz batman is my favorite comic hero of all time so im glad they gave his origin a lot of background. maybe youll be mre satisfied when The Dark Knight comes out. he'll have been batman for a while and will know the ropes a bit more
-
.. this Motion Picture entitled Spiderman III will be very good, indeed unlike the first installment which, quite frankly, was pretty average! Hail Arrius!
-
Wow, years later and Spidy swinging through the city is still as convincing as a Flintstones cartoon. If they can make Superman "fly" why do the Spider-Man FX continue to look so inferior? Also is it just me or is Dunst really homely? You're a millionaire, get some braces for those caveman teeth already.
-
Fuck the whole evil clone thing, Venom is supposed to be a guy who can rip your head off. Not skinny little Eric Forman.
-
ive always thought they should of gotten hillary duff to play gwen stacy, i duno about the acting, but shes spot on with the look
-
I'm looking forward to The Dark Knight quite a bit. Now that the heavy lifting is out of the way, I'm confident that the brothers Nolan will give us a more enjoyable story in part two. What a shame part one wasn't called The Dark Knight - Batman Begins is a horrible title.I have great admiration for the Spider-Man swings scenes. I don't understand this complaint about 'inferior' effects. I keep my inner geek in check most of the time, but he goes Spider-crazy every time Peter Parker goes sailing through the New York canyons. I think I could happily watch that final swing from the first one on a loop and never get bored with it.
-
Too bad they still won't put a decent Goblin costume in the film.
-
I expect nothing short of greatness.
-
I don't get it. He seems like more of a Misfits kind of guy.
-
...and... It's my new "I was on the phone with..." line.
-
our souls. im just praying that Nolan doesnt push the joker too far into realism and not do at least a hint of his color pallete from the comics. i mean, Nolan really wants to push fr realism and i can see why and i respect that, but bottom line is, a deformation alone isnt enough for the Joker. he's iconic and i think it will seriously hurt the movie if he changes him too much
-
If you think Dunst is homely you have got a serious problem. I mean serious. I'm not saying she's the greatest beauty the world has ever seen. But homely? Give me a break. Compared to Dunst your 13 year old girlfriend (2 years younger than you) looks like a man. You heard me - LIKE A MAN.
-
...or about Heath's ability to play the character. And the news that Katie Holmes won't be back for Batman Continues to Begin is just more reason for me to call it my most anticipated comic book movie of the year. I'm sure Spidey 3 will be entertaining. The other two certainly were. In fact, I think it's a real testament to Raimi's skill as a director and the visual effects team that I enjoy these movies as much as I do DESPITE feeling Tobey was completely miscast. I loved Tobey in Wonder Boys. But Peter Parker he ain't. Still, everything else in these movies is working so well that I accept him and just grit my teeth through his mouth-full-of-prozac-MacMumbles delivery of the not-quite-right dialogue. When you plan to cover up your hero's face for most of your movie, you should hire an actor who can emote with his voice. But, again, doesn't ruin the franchise for me.
-
Then...
MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!
Yes, I went there. -
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
-
i´m a fan
-
I just shot web fluid all over my keyboard. That trailer looks AWESOME!!
-
still hate the first one, 2 was much better but still lacking. But something tells me this one may be the one...
-
Maybe no worse than the film Eddie got his Oscar nomination for though. Haha!
-
Should there be? Probably not. But since when has Hollywood ever put a halt on lucrative franchises? Sony is sitting on a gold mine. It doesn't matter if Maguire, Raimi, and Dunst leave; they will all be replaced (easily). Bond, Batman, Superman, and Star Wars have all gone through personnel changes, and while the quality of the films varied, the dollars kept rolling in. A Spidey film is an automatic license to print money.
-
I'm unstoppable!
-
get off Batman Returns nutsack. The movie was extremely overrated. People just overreacted since it wasnt actually little kiddy anymore.
http://tinyurl.com/pv8do -
Come on!
They've been filming Spidey 3 on and off for an ETERNITY now.
Sam Raimi introduces a character he doesnt like but fanboys love...in what is seemingly a small role(at least the trailers allude to this).
And all the cast say they're not up for making more.
It doesnt make sense.
Sony used the 3 picture contracts to make two back to back as one picture thus fulfilling the contract and getting an extra movie.
Expect a Venom-centric movie in Summer 08.
-
Gotta eat is getting way too used around here. Come on, people....
-
But Nolan needs to learn how to do better action scenes, he's just not an action director. That fight in the warehouse almost gave me a seizure. Between that and katie Holmes the movie went down a star for me. Everything else was great, especially the near perfect cast. I just hope Nolan directs and edits better action scenes for The Dark Knight.
-
This is the most shoehorned stupid plot device I've seen in awhile...it makes me not care about the entire film. This one will be worth a usenet download, but nothing more.
-
Gotta Die. It was never funny in the first place.
-
The movie SUCKED, and anyone who thinks otherwise should stop watching movies.
Or graduate the 6th grade. -
I have to agree with many of you. Tobey doesn't make a great spider-man. His "funny" lines need more spark. They are dull. There is more energy from those lines in the comics than in the movie. However, I think that his Parker is spot on. And I still think MJ was casted totally wrong. Dunst is pretty but not MJ hot.
And for the most part, in SP1 and SP2 you can tell when it is CGI and when it is a live person. It is the animation.
I still enjoyed the movies though, never bought the 2nd one. I'd rather invest that money on comics.
I wonder why Schumacker wants to do a sandman movie. Isn't sandman already on this movie? Weird.
I'll be seing Spider-Man Begins to Return in the theaters anyways. I wonder if Venom and Sandman merged it would feel like Floam. -

It looks like a nice companion piece to the second picture.

can we surgically remove that too? so that the huevos are wedged right up against the ring??
-
To hit Spidey with a fist of hardened sand that must feel like a wrecking ball. It's got to be shaped like a wrecking ball, too. or a mace. Comics rule
-
I don't know if you're kidding but the Sandman movie in with Schumaher (sp?) is interested is based on Neil Gaiman's comic. It had nothing to do with this Sandman wich is a Spider-Man villain created by Lee and Ditko.
-
he speaks the truth.. batman begins was the best batman movie. superman returns could have been better but its not as bad as some people make it out to be and brett ratner should only direct traffic..ps:chickychow, i do have a job, and it involves me finding clients for that ho you call mother
-
...I think. I thought he was, til I read he has/had a wife.
He's not the most masculine though -I see that. I dunno. I was gonna say he had/has a wife...but that doesnt actually mean he isn't. does it matter? not really. -
According to various articles about the making of this movie, they used a variety of real materials to make sand. Most of it is not CGI, as Sam wanted to avoid it looking too much like "The Mummy". So that "unrealistic sand" you saw was most likely real sand, or real materials that are the same size and color as sand. -- This reminds me of people who see "Revenge of the Sith" and say that the vehicles those Clone Troopers actors are riding on look like CGI, without realizing that all the Clone Troopers were computer animated, too.
-
although I think the other SFX look to be very cool. I knew that the black goo wouldnt be a problem these days, but I dont think CGI is ready for realistic sand. I dont even think that SM3 sand looks any better than Mummy. Maybe even worse. Am sure it wont matter come May though - the cartoony appearance of these films kind of adds to the charm anyhow.
-
If Micheal Bay made Spiderman, spiderman would not get his powers from a spider. He would not have a costume, he would not have any super powers, there would be no super villans, No Peter Parker and no Mary Jane. Sounds great eh? Oh, and the dialogue would be rancid, there would be no direction, the story would be unbearably atrocious but at least there would be lots of "BOOM" to entertain the brainless monkey masses. Sounds awesome, doesn't it? Then he would make a music video about how awesome he was! Spiderman fans are lucky. Transformer fans get Bay. I think we got the short end of the stick there.
-
I think what we're still seeing is unfinished fx. Most of the footage in that vid is from a trailer that came out a few months ago, so I don't think the finishing touches have been put on these shots yet.
-
hello Kai... are you there?... um... deep breath.... let it go. aaahhhhh..... in through the nose out through the mouth.....there feel better? oh yeah by the way SR was great:) peace.
-
Where possible, Raimi had THC wear prosthetic "sand weapons" on his arm and he'd have to really swing them around. On second unit in Cleveland, they had lots of bags of play sand at the ready, usually just to scatter about (the bank truck sequence). Inside the armored truck, they had a one-arm stunt guy in a Spidey suit punching Sandman with his nub, so that it would appear to go "through" him. This stuff, naturally, was touched up with CGI. But Raimi didn't cheat if he didn't have to. A lot of this will be old-school action.
-
She's meeting the other girls for poker tonight. Supposedly, Katie Holmes is a shark.
-
What was the point of that post anyway? An attempt at "humor"? If so, I can see why you liked Singerman Peeps. Which sucked.
-
Spider-Man I was flawed (the Goblin just didn't work visually and Defoe was as miscast as Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, and the cgi was BAD). But II was great, other than those ugli-rific Tobey emotional close-up shots...ugly.
Two scenes in that movie are as great as any scene in any Super-Hero movie ever. The scene after he has stopped the train, and when MJ first sees him without a mask. Brilliant.
And if the spoiler up above is true, and I hope it is for the sake of the story, then there's no reason III shouldn't be great. -
....that they work with or without Spider-Man. Take away the hero aspect and you have a fine romantic comedy. Yuck.
-
that Doc Ock should have gone down when Spidey punched him in the face. He had no super powers.
-

I can never forgive Rami for fucking up Green Goblin
by alucardvsdracula
From that moment on, no matter how good SOME of the films have almost been, I still shudder with sickness at what he did to the character and that suit. That fucking suit will haunt me for at least another two minutes, before I forget. Oh and AOTC will OWN YOUR ASS.
-
Period. The only question will be who will return for it.
Also, Venom will be in the movie for a bit longer than 5 minutes, I'm not sure how long, but rest assured. I don't think he will be the villain of the 4th film, though, so expect that storyline to be at least semi-wrapped up this film. -
I think they're using sandman as temptation for dark spidey. Will Spidey seek the route of revenge knowing that this man killed his father? When he's symbiote spidey, he might, and he'll have to fight that impulse.
-
i know they needed to have a device to turn spidey into venom, but din't they already have that when jameson's son went into outer space at the end of 2?and yeah, the goblin's custom SUCKED big time. wtf is up w/harry's outfit? he looks like he should be in a mountain dew commercial...
-
like, by choking on some salad and diet coke.
-
it was surprising how the Green Goblin (for me at least, THE spider-man villain) looked so bad, between the costume and Dafoe's hamming, and Doc Ock, who should have been a horrible villain, came off so well, punches to the face, nonwithstanding.
-
just back from THE FILM GOD MICHAEL BAY ARTICLE - really good TB - but here's what I got when I checked the home page - a look at SPIDER-MAN 3 was waiting for me!
-
Just copying and pasting headlines from other sites
-
That's the hook in the trailer. Prolly won't be the denouement.
-
that is some fierce slander regarding Kirsten. did she teach you nothing in Dick or indeed The Devil's Arithmatic? www.mondoirlando.com
-
Yeah Nolan should definitely make better action scenes for Dark Knight. I think he overdoes it with this "realism" crap. This is the movies. The guy dresses up as a bat. It doesn't have to be THAT real. Nolan and company face a huge challenge: making the Joker work. Nicholson's Joker may not be the type of Joker I want to see in the Dark Knight, BUT they were able to make that Joker work. With this "realism" I can't imagine how they're not just going to downgrade and simplify the Joker into merely being a serial killer. BTW I think they really crapped out on the Scarecrow character, wasn't even scary or creepy at all. But at least Goyer is gone for the Dark Knight script, so the dialogue will be better. I do have hope for TDK, but I have doubts too. Oh, sorry, I was supposed to say something about Spiderman 3. Go get 'em tiger.

This has been listed on Superherohype.com and it's boards for a few days now. C'mon Harry... what happened to your "network"? A year ago, people said Sandman and Venom, and you giggled with glee "knowing" from your "sources" that it would be Electro and Sandman.
Your Transformers and Pirates of the Caribbean news are all pics taken from the boards of other sites, and the rest of your "news" is promotional material sent to you BY THE STUDIOS.
C'mon! What happened to that independent, devil-may-care attitude from the '90s? Back when you didn't care who you pissed off (studio-wise), coz you were here for your fellow movie fans.
This site just regugitates the stories from other sites, throws in a few mediocre (or obscene) reviews, and then has the nerve to say it is "The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news."
I know you'll not comment on this, in fact, you or one of the mods will delete this probably, but seriously, look at this site objectively, and remember how it was back in '95/'96 and ask yourself "what happened"? -
No way. Man-Wolf needs to be in SM4. Or I will wrap myself in a Toby poster and cry in the shower.
-
Brilliant! I so whole heartedly agree. Rollins would have been a superlative Brock/Venom. Great after the fact casting call. Regardless, I still think this film will kick ass. The score for the trailer still kicks ass. My daughter has me play the trailer for her ad nauseum. Hate all the haters on these boards. And I thought it was revealed/rumored that Bruce Campbell was playing Mysterio in the Spider-Man movie filming within Spider-Man 3.....
-
they used real sand where possible, and spent a great deal of time researching the right "type of sand" but I still don't think it looks particularly good - especially that morphing scene in the trailer. The falling punch is pretty cool though. It'll be interesting to see how it looks on the big screen.
-
I can't understand how people can complain about he effects in these films.
It's not like anyone comes up with a good alternative.
It's not like they could be done with the same dynamic movement and camera angles practically.
There where tons of films made before cgi which never looked even remotely realistic but we still all suspended our disbelief and enjoyed the aspects of the film which really matter.
The art design on the Green Goblin was in my opinion a mistake but I feel there are many aspects of comic book movies which will never look good on screen.
I actually think that Spidey looks better when in CGI and the real problem is that when we see him in the suit after a big action scene it often looks slightly strange.
-
wow.anyone see what I see?? he turns BLACK and automatically starts to become bad. he has to shed his BLACK skin to beomce good again. outrageous
-
...the cardinal sin for a Superman film. It's not like he had to set up the damn thing with lots of exposition as Donner and Lester had done it for him 30 years earlier. Spiderman has not disappointed yet and this will rock very hard indeed. I'm holding out for this and Dark Knight to revitalise the superhero genre, (maybe Iron Man but I have the feeling Favreau and his showbiz buddies might kind of cancel this one out...he's no visionary after all...) Anyone excited about Fantastic Four???
-
Of course it was. And I'm the sex-god Sultan of Brunei, with many amazing superpowers; everybody knows this. So what was your point?
-
Fantastic. I've read comics, but I seem to have an open mind when it comes to comic adaptations, so there are really very few that I don't enjoy in some way (*cough* HULK, ELEKTRA, SUPERMANRETURNS*cough*). Adored both Spidey movies, adored the first two X-men movies, tolerated the third more than I was expecting to (Hugh Jackman and Ian McKellan can do that), and found DareDevil and Fantastic Four cheesy but entertaining.
As for this Spidey movie - share the love, y'all. This looks fabulous. I'm a huge fan of Topher Grace AND Tobey Maguire, and seeing them both in the same movie about my favourite super-hero is like some great Fan-God answered my prayers. Thank you, Irradiated-Spider-Jesus!
Tobey has been a little on the depressed/subtle side in the first two movies, but he CAN be funny when the situation calls for it. For an example - I give you the first Spider-Man videogame. Tobey Maguire aced all those classic snarky Spider-Man lines - they JUST DIDN'T GIVE HIM ANY IN THE FREAKIN' MOVIE!
I am a little worried that it might be overpacked, but I still trust Raimi on this one. I was a little pissed when I first heard about the Sandman-real-murderer storyline (because I felt it took away one of Spider-Man's very real guilts), but now I'm fairly certain that the idea Sandman's the real killer is going to be some sort of red herring, especially since the movie looks like they're going to make the Sandman more sympathetic.
I'm also kinda hoping that Topher Grace returns as Venom for the fourth movie.
And as for the "Damn You Michael Bay" guy - I have to say, I kinda respect his dedication. -
Pull eachothers dicks out of your asses so you can get off that bandwagon and pay a little closer attention to good movies. Anyone who has issues with Nicholson's Joker doesn't know shit about the Joker.
-
WOW!!! Finally Black Sabbath gets a decent tribute. Amazing. How about a Master of Puppets movie to honor Metallica? Or a Raining Blood for Slayer? That'd be A W E S O M E!!!
-
Who did it Harry?
-
unbelievable
-
I'll make your Slayer tribute film. My torture-porn production company will get to work on "Lacertated Sky" right away!
-
There a new Venom picture up in the Zone Message Board.
-
I was just commenting that your SR hate should not follow you into every post. Th-then I commented t th.... wait what's this? I f-feel strange I can't surpress the dark forces any longer I can't live this lie as thecheesegrommit. Your enless SR hate has fed my hunger I Am DARTHHATER!!! YOUR LACK OF VISION (and taste) WILL BE YOUR UNDOING KAAIII MY GROIN! (que "Emperors March") SR Ruled not only because it was a great film but because it owns you and your actions. You are weak! Where is Padme? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
-
Do the teachers there at your elementary school know you're using the internets? Uh-oh, looks like some little guy is going to get a timeout....And ANYONE who uses a homophobic insult AGAINST the people who rightfully dis-like Singerman Peeps has ISSUES. Kind of like the pot calling the kettle a pot, isn't it?
-
um... that was so funny I almost wet myself, ahem. As for the homophobic insult um...what you talkin' bout Willis?
-
See, these right here: ... seperated my comment to you, and the follow-up directed at "WolfmanNards". Take a look at his homophobic insult, if you have reached the proper reading level that is. Singerman Peeps was horrid, and when you grow up, you will come to see the light. Until then, enjoy Spongebob Squarepants, or whatever other show you kids watch nowadays.
-
aahh .... the universal sign for...no wait yer a dink! You do seem quite full of yerself though with yer scathing retorts (i'm sorry retort is a response of sorts) As for Square pants Never watched it. My reading level tells me that your "Singerman peeps" hurts my eyes with it's stupidity. AAHH a new punk to smack down on a continuing basis *SSSEEMAAACK!!!!* That's me bitch slapping you upside yer vagina. Now get back in the basement.
-
As I suspected, a childish response. See, CHILDREN claim victory out of thin air, as you so ignorantly did. Since I have been slapping your ass around more often than I do your mothers, use common-sense before you post. Then again, asking for common-sense from a 12 year old is STRETCHING it.
-
ya know ya had me at "darthhaterofintelligence" then ya had to go and blow it with a mother joke *ACK* (and i'm the 12 year old?) I also did not claim victory. I just noted the smack downs as are obvious to all. "SSSEMAAACK" upside yer stanky vagine.
-
If you were able to smack a "vagine" (WTF?) you wouldn't be so pathetic. Oh, and to address a statement you made earlier, "big words" can cause eye strain on those lacking a fully-functioning brain. "To many leter make my brain an i's owie".
-
are you borderline retarded? cuz I'm starting to feel bad. I don't want you snapping and going postal in your junior high school tomorrow so if this gets to be too much just let me know. Leter is acually spelled letter, I'll give you that one. By the way I don't hate females I'm a heterosexual and a damn good one.
-
It looks good. I, for once, have nothing negative to say. Eek!
-
Yes, because I said YOU were retarded, you say the EXACT SAME THING BACK TO ME? Then, because I said you were 12 years old, AGAIN you "parrot" me. When I stated you were PATHETIC, you didn't have to PROVE it. Jesus. Singerman Peeps sucks almost as much as YOU do.
-
wow! you totally lost it on that one. I rechecked all the posts and you never called me retarded, and I never said you were 12. I was much more clever about it and said you were in junior high. However I think you're 19 and still in junior high. Enjoy the little yellow bus. This is tooooo easy.
-
Well, since you are obviously slow, let me explain it like your teachers should: When someone has "less than a fully functioning brain" they are RETARDED. As in "mental retardation". If you can try to read my posts AGAIN, and COMPREHEND, you'll do ok junior. How you CANNOT see how stupid you currently are, I'll never understand. And I was in junior high when I was 12, so if you are stuck in the 3rd grade at 12, don't ASSUME everyone else is a dullard too. Oh yeah, way to claim victory in your mind AGAIN, when it is obvious to EVERYONE ELSE that I am verbally bitch-slapping your ignorant mouth.
-
Oh this is just sad and now i'm bored. listen princess If it makes you feel better, you win. I don't want you to have a bad day. I'm just having fun. Talk back is a forum to exchange views on our favorite entertainments. You did not enjoy SR, ok. I don't understand it but ok. I can't really continue our clever repartee (on my side atleast). We'll meet again at another post I'm sure. Till next time be a good girl. Peace
-
Yes, way to admit defeat WITHOUT admitting defeat. Why not be a MAN and admit you got nothing? Why be a little bitch and try to make weak cracks? Singerman Peeps sucked, whether you "see it" or not. Only little emo/metro "ladyboys" like it. And for my final insult to you, I will say this: You WISH I was a girl. This would have been your LONGEST longest conversation with one EVER. Because you're ugly.
-
Why do people get mad at the changes they make in movies? You have to understand that they're dealaing with tons, i mean TONS, of spidey material and cant fit all those stories into the movies. So they mix it up to make it interesting. As long as it stays true to the characters and there is a sense of familiarity with the story, then it shouldnt be a problem. So what if Sandman didnt really kill Uncle Ben? They had to personally connect him to spiderman and that was the best way to do it. If you notice, every villain in each spiderman movie has a personal connection to Peter. SP 1 - Harry's Father. SP 2- Peter meets Dr. Octavius and gets to know his family, SP3 - Sandman killed Uncle Ben (They shouldn't have told us that story twist, it makes the movie better). I'm just pissed at Phoenix and Wolverine, and just about all the characters in X3. Phoenix didnt have to be an alien spirit, but they couldve came up with a better storyline. And a Phoenix has FIRE. She's not a vampire zombie chic. Wolverine is not Cyclops the team leader, and do something to Halle Berry b/c she's the worst Storm screwup.
As long as you stay true to the characters and their similar stories from the comics, then fans will be ok.
