Merrick here...
Early last month, Brett Ratner did an interview with MTV regarding BEVERLY HILLS COP 4.
A particular quote in the interview lead many to the logical conclusion that the new BHC project would have a considerably softer tone/rating than its predecessors.
When asked what is biggest challenge would be, Ratner seemed to indicate that his new film would be geared towards a very PG audience.

Justin Halpern, 29, who has already turned his “Shit My Dad Says” Twitter account into a book deal with Harper Collins, now has a deal to turn the same account into a sitcom.
CBS has ordered a pilot script that Halpern will write under the supervision of “Will & Grace”/“Good Morning, Miami”/“Four Kings” creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick.

Titan Books and AICN have five (5) copies of Titan's STAR TREK: THE ART OF THE FILM (hardcover).
This is a most excellent, slick, and well-presented publication chronicling the designing of J.J. Abrams' TREK film. In its 157 (ish) pages, you'll find Geek-enticing items like:

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. If it wasn't enough that we're getting a new Darren Aronofsky movie that promises to be a psychological thriller that could very well have the highest cuteness-on-screen ratio since HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE now we get word on some serious cool casting.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Duncan Jones' MOON was one of the big surprises of the year, a return to an old school filmmaking style ala SILENT RUNNING using great practical effects to decorate a sparse, smart script.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a review from talkbacker The Lonely Dachshund who got to see the Michael Caine old-man-kicking-ass revenge flick HARRY BROWN.
No hyperbole here, but Harry Brown is one of my most anticipated flicks in the can. When I sat down with Michael Caine earlier this year he described it as what would have happened if Jack Carter had lived to a ripe old age and was called back into action. This film promises to be everything I wanted out of GRAN TORINO and didn't get...
Here's Mr. Dachshund's thoughts on the film!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. James Marsh's MAN ON WIRE is a fantastic documentary about the French dude that's obsessed with staging tight rope walking hits on famous landmarks, most notably when he walked between the two World Trade Center towers.

“What if this is my time??”
“You are in over your head!!”
“Everything’s going to be fine!!”
“How do you know that??”

Just back from Vancouver and the set of the 30 Days of Night sequel 'Dark Days'! While I'm on embargo for the time being talking about all the cool things I got to see on set - I can report that the film isn't just a rehash. No "30 MORE Days of Night! More Snow! More Vampires! More Alaska!!!"

Hey folks, Harry here with my chat with Joe Johnston that took place in the Talbot family home. There was a ton of last act spoiler activity going on around us, but the Talbot Manor was exquisite. Very much the home of a hunter, taxidermy abounded. Just loved it. Now - you have to know that this was about two months prior to Joe committing to CAPTAIN AMERICA - so that wasn't even a topic that anyone knew to discuss.

Variety is reporting that Ashley Greene (TWILIGHT) is in talks to star in APPARITION for Joel Silver's Dark Castle shingle and Warner Bros., who is releasing the pic (Dark Castle has NINJA ASSASSIN out soon and released ORPHAN earlier this year). Inspired by true events, it's about a young couple haunted by an apparition unleashed during a college experiment.
