Merrick here...
Early last month, Brett Ratner did an interview with MTV regarding BEVERLY HILLS COP 4.
A particular quote in the interview lead many to the logical conclusion that the new BHC project would have a considerably softer tone/rating than its predecessors.
When asked what is biggest challenge would be, Ratner seemed to indicate that his new film would be geared towards a very PG audience.

CC2K has an extensive look at an early draft of the new TRON film. There are SPOIELRS afoot, so be warned.
CC2K encapsulates their reaction thusly:
A look at an early draft of Tron 2 reveals a script filled with problems and potential.

FRINGE writer/co-producer Brad Caleb Kane is developing a VIEWMASTER movie for DreamWorks.
Yes, it's based on this toy:

Writin it for the Kurtzman/Orci boys! It'll be like the old 80's Amblin movies: Goonies, Young Sherlock... In that vein.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. This image popped up over at ComingSoon.net yesterday and anybody heading to Comic-Con in three weeks is going to get to see this (and much more if this banner is any indication).
After a year and a half of blurry, fuzzy images, fanmade pics, character descriptions... we finally have our first look at a Na'vi from James Cameron's AVATAR! Behold!

Our search engine here on AICN, while recently improved, is still somewhat dicey. As such, if I'm repeating a post I somehow missed, apologies in advance to both its author and our readers.
This said, a bizarre...but extremely cool...bit of entertainment-related news has recently been unfolding in Japan & I thought it deserved a most humble tip of the hat here...and perhaps even a gasp of awe.

We'd previously heard Paul W.S. Anderson was cobbling together a script for the next RESIDENT EVIL film. Now sources for Shock Till You Drop have revealed the subtitle of the project to that site, and offered its target release date.

Murmurings of this started percolating a few weeks ago on various HARRY POTTER-related boards (I believe it may've originated HERE - forgive me if I'm wrong).
But now, the ultra-magnificent Bill Nighy has confirmed he's landed a gig in the final HARRY POTTER FILM (DEATHLY HALLOWS) - the first part of which should hit theaters late next year.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Methinks someone high up at Universal is having a bit of Peter Pan complex. There are worse things for an executive to have, for sure... But this is the studio that's working to bring us Candyland and Battleship and now they've jumped from the board game to the classic arcade game.

Hey folks, Harry here with a micro glimpse of just how intense Spike is with his attention to detail. One of the things I really like is that he's doing this against a projected image - instead of a small computer screen. I think sometimes detail can be overlooked on monitors - whereas when you see the image being projected against a screen - you can begin to see how it'll look later on film - and make the right adjustments. Like I said, the link below doesn't offer much - but it shows us 1) Mark Romanek is a geek!
