Remember: Paley Tix On Sale To Public Sunday!! NIP/TUCK!! JERICHO!! DEXTER!! CLOSER!!

Published at:  Feb 03, 2007 11:07:24 PM CST

I am – Hercules!!

As predicted, those who bought $50 Museum of Television & Radio memberships also bought up all the Paley Fest tickets for “Heroes,” “The Office,” “American Idol,” “Ugly Betty,” “The Simpsons” and George Lucas in the three days before those tickets went on sale to the public. “Brothers & Sisters” and “Prison Break” tix are all gone as well.

I don’t recall ever seeing this many Paley events selling out so quickly. And they sold out despite the higher, tiered ticket prices this year!

The good news for fans of “Jericho,” “Nip/Tuck,” “Dexter” and “The Closer” is tickets for those events look likely to still be available on Sunday morning, when non-members are permitted to make purchases.

Here’s where the Paley Fest stands as of 9 p.m. PT Saturday:

March 1 “American Idol” SOLD OUT!
March 2 “The Office” SOLD OUT!
March 3 An Evening With George Lucas SOLD OUT!
March 5 “Brothers & Sisters” SOLD OUT!
March 6 “The Closer”
March 7 “Dexter”
March 8 "Nip/Tuck”
March 9 “Prison Break” SOLD OUT!
March 10 “Heroes” SOLD OUT!
March 12 “Ugly Betty” SOLD OUT!
March 13 “Jericho”
March 15 “The Simpsons” SOLD OUT!

They didn't seel out in 3 days...

    by tidmore

They sold out in F***ING 2 Hours. I bought a membership, forgot about the tickets and got on 2 hours after they went onsale and they were all gone for the three things I wanted to go to The Office, Heroes, and George Lucas.

    Know why they sold out?

    by germancity

Scalpers+Ticketbastard. Most of these tickets were turned around for hundreds on Ebay the moment they were grabbed. And longtime MTR members? Screwed over, since the only people given the proper purchase code were brand new members. A total fuckup by the MTR. Ticketweb was much better.

WTF is this article even about?

    by eyegore

Paley fest? WTF is that? Has it even been mentioned here? I've never seen or heard of it even though I read this site daily. Don't assume we all know WTF a paley fest is. I just wanted to see what was up with Jericho & Dexter and I got nothing.

    Only reason

    by david lazarus long

I know about Paley Fest is because there was a Lost panel last year that I read about on the Fuselage. Couldn't give two craps 'cuz I ain't got no moneys. Kinda sad that Dexter wasn't one of the first to sell out. Or not? Because it gives real people a chance to get ticketses?

    Ticket fiasco

    by sftv

From what I can tell, the password given to members did not work for the first thirty minutes. When they finally did, almost all of the popular ones were already sold out. So, the only people with access at the start were those who had just bought memberships via ticketmaster, which appear to be mostly scalpers, based on the number of ebay listings and other ticket sites.

I tried calling the membership number but it was busy. A friend who talked to them later was essentially told the equivalent of "tough luck".

Hopefully they will release a DVD of the Heroes session like they did the Lost one.

In general, the museum does some neat stuff and will occasionally have sessions at the museum at other times. One of the coolest I got to go to was one for Max Headroom with the main cast on hand.

    Excellent journalism, Herc

    by ctu mole

How about telling us what the fuck a Paley Fest is and why do I care about it? Why are a variety of TV shows, as well as "George Lucas" being called events? I thought this was about Dexter coming to DVD, dammit.

    Ticket Master

    by onlooker

Someone just posted elsewhere that there are still tickets on Ticket Master now, with the only one shown as sold out being Nip/Tuck.

Comments are more informative than the article

    by eyegore

At least now after reading the comments I know enough to not give a crap about this fiasco, whatever it is.
