Merrick here...

We thought you might wanna take a look at this; it just came in. You can click the image to see it more clearly.

We deal with crazy e-mails every day, but this one's different. It's a scan from the San Francisco crime lab. I did some research, which lead me HERE.

"Zodiac" was well written, suspenseful and creepy. Page-turner all the way! Fincher will have a major hit on his hands. If the studio is smart, pay the cash and play the trailer during Superbowl. We're talking "Gladiator" success here. Can't wait to see it. As another AICN poster said on the last article, I too agree they keep the "baby in the car" scene. That totally creeped me out.

He kept contact with the police, gave them many clues to his identity, and never got caught. Even today, with modern techniques, very little has been added to his still-open case file. Theories are all that there is at this point...

So before you joke about his writing, think first, then realize he's probably smarter than 99% of the Talkbackers and AICN staffers.

Movie was allready made as fiction

    by homer40

Does anybody remember a little movie about a serial killer stalking San Francisco, playing with the cops and such? It was the Don Segel masterpiece "Dirty Harry", and the guy who played the killer was awesomely insane. True, real life wasn't nearly as fun as watching Harry eat a hot dog while he blew away a bunch of bank robbers, but sometimes fiction relays truths that non-fiction can't. Dirty Harry, in addtion to being a brillant portrayal of a serial killer, also made us deal with our desire for revenge regardless of the Constitution, and our secret learning for a strong, protective figure, even if he breaks all the laws. Its a perfect story for our age, as our re-election of Bush, basically a wimpy Harry, shows some of the same issues. The Godfather is sometimes critized for the same thing, for making the violent of the protection of the Corleones something we might yearn for. Coppola took care of that in GFII, where any sense of family and benovelent strength went out the window when Michael killed his own brother. Still, Fincher is very talented, and I can't wait to see the movie.

March has produced a number of hits and outright blockbusters. Plus, Fincher's Panic Room opened in March 5 years ago, and cleared $90 million. It's January and February releases that are the true dumping-ground stuff.
