AICN Gets A Real Letter From The Zodiac!!
Merrick here...
We thought you might wanna take a look at this; it just came in. You can click the image to see it more clearly.
We deal with crazy e-mails every day, but this one's different. It's a scan from the San Francisco crime lab. I did some research, which lead me HERE.

What??
-
Sometimes it seems like it.
-
Who isn't?
-
zodiac? fincher? im so there
-
But how the fuck did he get his Pen License? Did he write his letter outside in the rain? You'd think he'd have put more effort in sending something in to AICN...
Oh wait... -
"Zodiac" was well written, suspenseful and creepy. Page-turner all the way! Fincher will have a major hit on his hands. If the studio is smart, pay the cash and play the trailer during Superbowl. We're talking "Gladiator" success here. Can't wait to see it. As another AICN poster said on the last article, I too agree they keep the "baby in the car" scene. That totally creeped me out.
-
Zodiac ain't no chump
-
(__)__)
-
He said he is coming after TalkBackers next...
-
And he said he's hungry... He would like someone to bring him a meatball sandwich.....
-
Book was scary as hell.
-
well, it was either than or ,"TOO LATE "
-
Must be a fucking High School drop out who can't get lay or an imbecile, no wonder he goes around killing peoples.
-
He needs a winner after Panic Room.
-
...is Paramount paying you for this viral shit? Ads masquerading as "cool news." Lame, lamer, lamest.
-
they are the cyptowhatever to the cypher up top. I'm too lazy to figure it out now, and more than slightly creeped out by the reprinting of ACTUAL serial killer memos for entertainment.
-
I'm really torn about seeing this. David Fincer = Awesome. Cast = Pretty damn good. Subject manner? = very interesting to me as a Bay Area resident and former hardcore true crime junkie. Book it's based on? = crappity crap crap crap lies and crap.
-
I am a relative of the late General Zorjaik from Nigeria. Upon his death, he left a will of $52 Million unresolved. I must have the money transported to a US checking account. Please send $2000 for the bank processing fees, and I will allow you to keep half. Please email me at your earliest convenience. Thank you.
-
ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?
-
Can I write the headlines now?
-
He didn't have much to say...
-
.....go after people like mob bosses or drug lords? you know, people who actually deserve to die. it's always women or little kids or whatever. someone tell the serial killers to stop being pussies and go "hunt" some real "game" allready.
-
...basically, serial killers = pussies? i guess i can buy that. still think some budding serial killer out there could really make a name for himself if he started offing mob bosses. now THAT would be "cool news" indeed.
-
So as not to be confused with that other lame movie.
-
NOT.
-
He kept contact with the police, gave them many clues to his identity, and never got caught. Even today, with modern techniques, very little has been added to his still-open case file. Theories are all that there is at this point...
So before you joke about his writing, think first, then realize he's probably smarter than 99% of the Talkbackers and AICN staffers. -
Oooo, the robot boat was jealous and killed its creator. Kind of not at all like what happened in the movie! That's compelling stuff.
-
No comment.
-
Because cereal killers are only good at cleaning up blood.
-
I have a feeling you do...
-
...and "knowledge" cribbed from roughly five books - primarily, Pratt's guide for beginners - was certainly more intelligent than w3bzpinn3r will ever be.
-
I saw the trailor for this movie and it went on and on. Just when one montage of key scenes in the film set to a classic rock song ended another one started. I swear Cameron Crowe must've editted that trailor, I probably would've seen the flick otherwise.
-
it spells "THIS YEAR'S LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE" but the letters are all off by one. It's like the Zodiace, only it's not. I detest Jake Gyllenhal.
-
This was a real life serial killer, you know.
-
Does anyone remember the episode of Millenium where Zodiac re-emerges and shows his kills on the internet? THAT was one of the highlights of the series, and this movie will be hard pressed to be scarier than that episode.
-
"What's your sign, brother?"
-
I am so over "serial killer leaving twisted clues" as a plot device. Sad to see Fincher flailing back to Se7en for another try. Like Clerks 2, except nothing could be that bad.
-
so "DEXTER" is a show about a serial killer who takes out criminals? i'll have to check that out, i had no idea it was out there, thanks for the heads up. oh yeah, BTW "there ain't nothing like the life of a hollywood stuntman":)
-
Does anybody remember a little movie about a serial killer stalking San Francisco, playing with the cops and such? It was the Don Segel masterpiece "Dirty Harry", and the guy who played the killer was awesomely insane. True, real life wasn't nearly as fun as watching Harry eat a hot dog while he blew away a bunch of bank robbers, but sometimes fiction relays truths that non-fiction can't. Dirty Harry, in addtion to being a brillant portrayal of a serial killer, also made us deal with our desire for revenge regardless of the Constitution, and our secret learning for a strong, protective figure, even if he breaks all the laws. Its a perfect story for our age, as our re-election of Bush, basically a wimpy Harry, shows some of the same issues. The Godfather is sometimes critized for the same thing, for making the violent of the protection of the Corleones something we might yearn for. Coppola took care of that in GFII, where any sense of family and benovelent strength went out the window when Michael killed his own brother. Still, Fincher is very talented, and I can't wait to see the movie.
-
I haven't been around in a few years, is that saying still hip around here?
-
Donnie Darko will crack the code!
-
Julian Fink wrote an episode of "T.H.E. CAT" starring Robert Loggia about a hitman named "Scorpio"(Robert Duvall played the part.) that took a group of people hostage in San Francisco. Harry and Julian Fink wrote the original "Dirty Harry." Andy Robinson played guess who?
-
First off Fincher is in my top five favorite working director list and I can't wait to see this movie. That said, this is such a sell out marketing ploy. This same letter is up at Jo Blo too. How much food can Harry buy with the money the studio gave him for posting this shit? Answer: Not enough.
-
...Said he wants his love note back.
-
and realease it already. I've been dying (get it) to see this one.
-
The trailer was poo though.
-
Serial Killers ROOL!
-
I love David Fincher but isn't Seven kind of the last word in serial killer movies? Why even return to the genre if you can't top a head in a box?
-
Given the director, cast and pedigree, the release date is pretty damn odd.
-
How about 2 heads in a box? Or one head in 2 boxes...
-
San Francisco is mentioned, and not even one talkbacker has flown into a homophobic rage yet? I'm shocked.
-
I took a serial killer/profiling course in university and one of the statistics that stuck from the prof. was that the fbi and police agencies agree that there are over 300 serial killers active or inactive living freely in the public right now across north america.
-
...the pound-and-a-half of shit I left in the toilet this morning is smarter than 99% of you fucks. Your point?
-
I mean, who here HASN'T written at least one insane, rambling, threatening letter in their lives? If you haven't, you shouldn't be posting here. Its just not natural.
-
...is this also under the AICN Contests heading?
-
hows THAT, my babies?
-
But the Zodiac had some BITCHIN stationary!
-
Anymore than I need a "real" Scarface game after GTA: Vice City.
-
my big gay ass wouldnt mind a piece of Jakes big, not gay ass.
-
I didn't figure out it was an ad 'til I clicked on the link. I wonder if the Zodiac killer could've figured that out sooner.
-
He Can Play The Zodiac!
-
he can play your mother! if you smell you what he's cooking?

MAIL FRAUD/ Removed at the request of the Zodiac killer
by thebearovingian
The damn USPS strikes again! I was wondering why my grandma never received my last letter. I've overlooked the Victoria Secret catalog theft but I can't let this go. A warning to my fellow TBers: stay away from Lover's Lane...
XOXOXOXO,
Zodiac Killer Guy -
March has produced a number of hits and outright blockbusters. Plus, Fincher's Panic Room opened in March 5 years ago, and cleared $90 million. It's January and February releases that are the true dumping-ground stuff.
-
This is the ZODIAC speaking.⊕
-
Got a little over-zealous last week. Sorry for the disruption.
-
A very good one in fact.Next time: variety!
