SPOILER ALERT !!

“Jessica Simpson?”
“It’s not like I was masturbating to her music!”

I am – Hercules!!

Lucky Louie: The Complete First Season, streeting today, has a lot going for it, foremost the sensibilities of star-creator Louis Szekley, a philosophical stand-up comic and veteran TV writer (“Saturday Night Live,” “The Late Show With David Letterman,” “Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” “The Chris Rock Show”) who often seems bewildered by what large segments of the world consider seemly and moral.

Gaining notoriety for manifesting the first HBO sitcom shot before a live studio audience, “Louie” depicted the misadventures of a part-time muffler installer and benefited from the highly likeable Pamela Segall Adlon, who provides the voice of Bobby Hill on “King of the Hill” and apparently made a strong enough impression on HBO’s “Unscripted” to land the female lead here. The show’s most off-putting element, conversely, was easily “Jerry,” a rant-happy bore played by former heroin addict, crack addict and street hustler turned stand-up comedian Rick Shapiro. His lengthy idiot monologues were inevitably met by studio-audience applause (if not laughter), and by my eye wandering toward the remote.

Entourage kicks a lot of ass, but I doubt any fan will like that they're selling the third season in two separate parts. I know that the third season had more episodes than previous seasons, but come on! At least sell the complete third season in one set for an insane amount like Carnivale.

Will The State EVER come out on DVD??!!

    by deucefilms

You would think that with the Reno 911 movie coming out soon (along with the popularity of that show), there might be some kind of effort to put the MTV series The State out on DVD. That show was hilarious and does have its own cult following.

    by danielkurland

Shandling just said that a 23 episode "Best Of" DVD is coming out in April or so, and will most likely be the last DVD release. It will have behind the scenes stuff, interviews, featurettes, which is all nice, but disappointing that season sets aren't happening. Better than nothing though.

Season 3 of Entourage being sold in two parts...

    by danielkurland

is not a problem, as each half of the season has at least an amount of episodes that would be in one full season, it's not like one set will only have 5 episodes or something. It's 12 and 10 I believe. They're just calling it season 3 part 1 and2, rather than season 3 and 4

    Lucky Louie's Demise

    by poutineman

I'd have to agree that LL snuffed it in part due to how unfunny Jerry's rants were. Is it just me, or was Pam Adlon's character turning more and more into a biotch as the show progressed? I miss the show but agree it needed to end.

    by newc0253

especially when you splash '4400' in the headline and it turns out it's just a link to a boxset not due out until May without any kind of details whatsoever. i get that the Amazon links helps pay the rent but this degree of shilling is just weak.

"my eye wandering toward the remote"Of course. That wouldn't have anything to do with the actors in Lucky Louie being friends of the Opie and Anthony show vs. the (mostly forgotten and very disappointing) Howard Stern show, would it?You are equally predictable and forgettable. But why not seize opportunity to make things aww beddah by posting those lucrative Amazon links?

for the person who said that benny hill is tripe

    by emeraldboy

his later shows are awful. But way back in the 1950's on the BBC ,no one was doing what he did. His use of effects were pioneering. He loved American television and he loved their then pioneering use of editing. He caused uproar in BBC when in one sketch he parodied american commericals. and by dressing up as a woman. His use of sound was also pioneering. Hill was a perfectionist. He left the BBC, because having been to and fro to the US several times, he understood commercial. Hill was not stupid and before the war he worked with his dad who himself made millions out of condoms and lady aides and when his dad died he left the bulk his fortune to Benny. One of HIlls angels was jane leeves. remember her. Daphne from Frazier. wonder what happened. she doesnt like talking about she came to live in the US. Weird. She is a real ice queen apperently. She terminated an interview with vanity fair when the journalist in question asked about how she came to be in america. Back to Benny hill. by the 1980s his saucy seaside humour was getting stale and hill was fired in a very cruel. He was summoned to a meeting, where they kept him waiting and he had barely sat down and he was told "no, more bennies" and with that his career at itv was over. If I was to pick one very funny hill joke, it would be his long running gag of hill slapping a bald man on the head. It is comedy pared down. hilarious. Hill was a genius. dont believe then listen to ernie the milkman. Is a classic.

Benny hill Ernie(and he drove the fastest milk cart in

    by emeraldboy

the west). Was no one in the UK charts for four weeks and spent a further 17 weeks in the uk charts.

So for the Americans: here is the song in question....

ERNIE ( THE FASTEST MILKMAN IN THE WEST)
    11/12/1971 - 4 weeks at #1 - 17 weeks on chart

You could hear the hoof beats pound
As they raced across the ground
And the clatter of the wheels
As they spun round and round
And he galloped into Market Street
    His badge upon his chest
    His name was Ernie
And he drove the fastest milkcart in the west

    Now Ernie loved a widow
    A lady known as Sue
She lived all alone in Linley Lane
    At number twenty two
They said she was too good for him
She was haughty, proud and chic
But Ernie got his cocoa there
    Three times every week
    They called him Ernie (Ernie)
And he drove the fastest milkcart in the west

She said she'd like to bathe in milk
    He said alright sweetheart
And when he finished work one night
    He loaded up the cart
    He said you wanted pasturised
    Coz pasturised is best
She says Ernie I'll be happy
If it comes up to me chest
And that tickled old Ernie (Ernie)
And he drove the fastest milkcart in the west

    Now Ernie had a rival
    An evil looking man
Called Two Ton Ted from Teddington
And he drove the bakers van
He tempted her with his treacle tarts
    And his tasty wholemeal bread
And when she saw the size
    Of his hot meat pies
It very near turned her head
She nearly swooned at his macaroon
And he said now if you treat me right
You'll have hot rolls evry morning
    And crumpets every night
He knew once she'd sampled his layer cake
    He'd have his wicked way
And all Ernie had to offer
Was a pint of milk a day
    Poor Ernie (Ernie)
And he drove the fastest milkcart in the west

One lunchtime Ted saw Ernie's horse and cart outside her door
It drove him mad to find it was still there at half past four
And as he leaped down from of his van
Hot blood through his veins did course
And he went across to Ernie's cart
And he didnarf kick his horse
    Who's name was Trigger (Trigger)
And he pulled the fastest milkcart in the west

Now Ernie rushed out into the street
    His goldtop in his hand
He said if you want to marry susie
You'll fight for her like a man
Oh why don't we play cards for her
    He sneeringly replied
And just to make it interesting
We'll have a shilling on the side
Now Ernie dragged him from his van
    And beneath the blazing sun
They stood there face to face
And Ted went for his bun
    But Ernie was to quick
Things didn't go the way ted planned
    And a strawberry flavoured youghurt
Sent it spinning from his hand
Now Sue she ran between them
And tried to keep them apart
    And Ernie pushed her aside
And a rock cake caught him underneath his heart
And he looked up in pained surprise
    As the concrete hardened crust
Of a stale pork pie caught him in the eye
    And Ernie bit the dust
    Poor Ernie (Ernie)
And he drove the fastest milkcart in the west

Ernie was only fifty-two, he didn't want to die
Now he's gone to make deliveries
In that milkround in the sky
    Where the customers are angels
    And ferocious dogs are banned
And a milkmans life is full of fun
    In that fairy dairy land
But a woman's needs are many fold
    And Sue she married Ted
But strange things happened on their wedding night
As they lay in their bed
Was that the trees a rustling
Or the hinges of the gate
Or Ernies ghostly goldtop a rattling in their crate
    They won't forget Ernie (Ernie)
And he drove the fastest milkcart in the west
