Eat My Feature!! Early Images From THE SIMPSONS MOVIE!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
I am – Hercules!!
We’ve got Maggie threatening a monkey, Homer high on a roof, Marge on a motorbike, Flanders chatting up Bart, Springfield afire, Homer menaced by signage and more!!
Hopefully time zones and the trade and language barriers will keep these and these online a good long time!
For those, like me, who were underwhelmed by the trailer? Remember, both Brookses - Albert and James L. - are said to be highly involved in this effort!
Thanks to "Juepucta" for the heads-up!

Always better than the corpse of the Simpsons (Okay, apart from the awful "devil's hands" episode. That one was as bad as the last four Simpsons seasons...)
-
That scene was in the Comic-con preview, right?
-
Hot Fuzz being the other. Any news of Mr Burns?
-
There I said it.
I dunno about this one. The teaser trailer wasn't very exciting. The writing on this show has been dumbed down so much in the last few seasons that I can't see the movie rising above its current state of suckiness. Pass. -
had these up three days ago.

The supermodels he lives with.
-
Wow, all the town's recurring characters forming a huge mob! That's the kind of epic scene they could never do on a TV budget.
-
I watch this show with my kids from time to time, and you can find a hidden gem of an episode every so often. Later writers have gotten lazy: recycling scripts, over-reliance on curse words and sex euphimisms, etc. Still better than 90% of what else is on TV. My guess is the movie will be worth the $5 (I love living in small town America where movies are still affordable!)
-
Wait for it...

A Simpsons movies would have been a great idea.....7 years ago. As it stands right now, the writers are reusing scenerios and jokes for a 3rd time in some cases. I think that where Simpsons could have been better was that they could have aged the characters. That could have brought in different types of humor in.... Just a thought
-
Poochie manages to eject as his rocket explodes. Aliens outfit him with cool and hip clothes and a space skate board. He befriends cool teens and hilarity ensues...
-
which was just a few hours ago, really. And I assume they were pretty exciting for JoBlo's 11 readers before Fox ordered JoBlo to take them down.
-
I love the simpsons.I think this movie will rock tha house.I heard a long time ago that the series would end with a movie ,and Bart would lose his virginity, but this has been scraped!More series to come after this.SNAKES ON A TRAIN!!!!
-
but it's still funnier than most other shows out there, Family Guy included. And the guy who said Lisa needs to die has no clue.
-
And although I know they were planning "Camp Krusty" to be the movie years ago, "Itchy and Scratchy: The Movie" I think would have worked a lot better, and would have had that nice parallel that the South Park movie had.
-
Really? Maggie would be 19! Bart would be 28! Sure, it'd be interesting, but it wouldn't be the same show AT ALL.
-
I have to say I'm totally underwhelmed by what i've seen of this movie so far... Please lord, they'll keeping the good stuff under wraps... right?!
-
I don't think that's actually true. Simpsons has always been social and political satire. The show sends up popular culture and beliefs. What's happened is that, thanks in no small part to their efforts, Americans have become more self-aware and political views have shifted more toward the center since the show began. So the satire isn't quite as biting. I think, in a sense, they're preaching to the choir now. The only way to keep an edge is to get meaner, but the show's not about being mean. It's about being funny and sometimes heartwarming. Family Guy was bred to mean, so it's flourishing now. But none of this means Simpsons isn't funny. It has on eps and off eps, like any long-running show, but by and large, I think it's still one of the best shows on TV. Here's a nickel. You owe me three cents : )
-
and I have seen nothing so far that looks any different from the consistent quality of the show.
-
moral, ethical concieince of the show. She is one who the writers filter the big ideas through namely philosophy, spirituality or other big issues. With the possible exception of Worthy shows like seventh heaven Cartoons are the only place on tv where you can do, or say anything and get away with it. In ireland there is a show called the podge and rodge show, they are puppets and they slaughtered verbally Shane MacGowan who was very drunk. They took the piss. It went down badly becuase it looked these two were taking the piss out of an alcoholic. Put up a brainless modern and they are hilarious. That means you chris brosnan.

No, it's really, REALLY not. The Simpsons should have been axed about six years ago before it became the bloated, unfunny, cameo vehicle for whatever celebrity nobody is top of the hype list at the moment that it is. Anyone who professes to love the show should be campaigning outside Matt Groening's house until he does the decent thing and kills it before the Simpsons legacy becomes completely sullied.
-
You idiots are actually excited about seeing images from this movie? Its not like we are looking at Venom or a transformer for the first time.
-
But maybe they will hit it out of the park...

He's a tragic genius. I need to Netflix his documentary, "If I Should Fall From Grace". It says a lot when someone puts together a documentary on one of the greatest Irish songwriters simply because they're afraid he won't be alive long enough!

good pics but hardly much to go on humourwise.

A SP's dream movie.
-
i really dont care if they recycle jokes...as long as Mr. Burns "see my chest" song gets reused i cant wait to hear it on THX...anyways quit yer bitchin' you know everybody that watched the simpsons will fork out the money and go see the movie even though they know its just a long episode...it is very sad though that a gem from our childhood has been dumbed down to compete with family guy, they should just stop the series with everyone commiting mass suicide a la peoples temple in jownstown
-
i cant spell
-
there has been no Beavis & Butthead 2 or South Park 2 suggests that these movies of animated TV shows do not do at all well at the box office. i see The Simpsons movie as being the advertising budget to sustain the TV show for a handful more series.

This show has sucked so long saying it sucks has even run it's course.
-
so everyone wanted to post just to say that they don't care?!? Fare enough if you think the show sucks (although the arse who said only 5 seasons were funny needs to lay of the drugs) so why bother posting....we have heard it before and it's pretty tiring.
-
...and bitch how much The Simpsons suck these days. Then they will download it to watch it again and complain some more. A few months later, they will buy the Limited Special Edition DVD and bitch about how much The Simpsons suck these days. Then they will buy all the merchandise and watch every new episode and bitch about...come on guys! If it sucks, don't watch it! Or otherwise you have no right to complain!
-
...over 99.5 percent of the horseshit on the idiot box these days. Comparisons to FAMILY GUY/SOUTH PARK/FUTURAMA have always struck me as pointless, as their dynamics are completely different from each other. It's like comparing Pac-Man, Tempest, Halo, and Monopoly - all great games, radically different from each other. Sure, you could pick and choose elements of similarity (your character in Tempest resembles Pac-Man, and travels around the outside of the playing area similar to Monopoly - but why bother? When you want to play Pac-Man, Tempest, Halo, or Monopoly, any of the other three are poor substitutes indeed. The similarity between FAMILY GUY and SIMPSONS is more pronounced, but it's such a standard sitcom setup that to single out THE SIMPSONS as somehow having innovated that setup is ludicrous. Cough FLINTSTONES cough WAIT TILL YOUR FATHER GETS HOME. (And they didn't innovate it either.)
-
Leaking everything early
-
Rumored to exist, and apparently not made by Mike Judge (who, the story goes, somehow successfully blocked its release) - but that's just hearsay, and personally I'd think a bootleg of some sort would have emerged by now if it was real. But stranger things have certainly happened, and I certainly wouldn't put it past MTV to pull some dirty shit like that. More likely is that it was almost made, or that it was started and then abandoned very early on.
-
animation. Just as long a show pulls in an audience and makes the network money, that is whAt its all about. MONEY. THE SIMPSONS MADE FOX. Fox needs The simpsons for Merchandising. Merchandising means revenue. The haters can kick all they like. But in the end it comes down to economics.
-
... like Keith Richards, will outlive us all! What's he got to do with the Simpsons, though?

Venture Bros., Harvey Birdman, and another South Park one.

....to judge the movie. This season has been enjoyable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_rBidCkJxo&mode=related&search=
-
...yeah, yeah...fair enough. The last funny season was seven. Eight had its moments, and then it was gone. The show hasn't been funny in ten years. I'm still going to see this, for what reason I don't know. Maybe it's misguided loyalty for some of the best humor ever to hit television [back when they were good.] Maybe it's the fact that many of the writers of old are working on this, and I'm hoping against hope that, though the trailers looked horrendous, somehow the movie will actually be decent.

I give them credit for waiting this long for a movie-
by flim springfield
A Simpsons movie has been discussed since 1990, and could have made easy money at any time. Good on them for waiting for a good reason- their 20th anniversary.
-
... I did!!!!!!! FUTURAMA kicks The Simpsons' shiny metal ass. I bin said this, eons ago.
And now Jackpumkinhead Bauer's on my side, perhaps if the Gods smile, we can get a Futurama movie. I doubt it though.
In truth, I could give a flying fig about a Simpsons movie. Talk about 15 years too late!
Bring on Zapp Brannigan... -
"The one with the gag of Homer swinging on the wrecking ball and hitting the side of his house? I just rewatched "Sideshow Bob Roberts" the other day and the exact same gag was used as a throwaway in that ep."
wow, you could not be more wrong. Though that movie gag was really bad, it was not like the gag in that ep at all. -

What's an SP?
-
Our favorite suicidal snake-handler is easily the most interesting character on the show.
-
It's fair...not fare.
What a surprise. The illiterate douchebag thinks it's still funny.
The Simpsons hasn't been funny for 10 years now.
Oh and btw: FUTURAMA DEFINITELY KICKS THE SIMPSONS ASS. No question about that. If you think otherwise you're a retard. A gay one. -
Futurama needs to be on 360. That is all.
-
I'd be more than happy to donate a piece of my liver to each Simpson.
-
I used to love the simpsons. season 2-9 are great. but it's been bad for a while now and the trailer with homer putting the hammer in his eye scares the shit out of me. Please don't suck.
-
I met the dude a month ago. Nice guy. I mentioned aint it cool news. he chuckled. derisively. he doesn't give a flying rats ass what you hatemongers have to say, nor should he. nobody's forcing you to keep watching The Simpsons and keep bitching about it. Go. Go away. Watch something else. Dive headfirst into other talkbacks. Do what you want. Look for something to enjoy. Heck, Family Guy, or if you're not too picky, American Dad. But don't bother with this tired "Simpsons sucks" crap, because it's not true, it doesn't matter what you think, kindly piss off, i and other true fans can't wait for the movie. yay. seriously.
-
Like that other guy said, I'll take Simpsons over 99.5% of that horsecrap out there today. TV sucks...I hardly watch any shows anymore...and Simpsons is one of the few select that I keep going back to. Yes, it went downhill for a few seasons while Futurama was around, but it has since rebounded a bit, and I am really looking forward to this movie.
To bash the Simpsons is pointless. Go Simpsons!! -
you can do anything in a cartoon or with puppets. Podge and rodge are an example of that.
-
best moe line ever. Conflicted about the simpsons movie...its going to have be fucking excellent. Ive totally drifted away from that show...like two years ago. the BBC only bought the first 3 seasons and have just repeated them for 20 years!lol although you can get the latest eps in britain on digital, I rarely catch them. Im sure the ratings must have dropped stateside surely too? This movie needs to do something groundbreaking - like kill off a main character or something.
-
San Diego Comic Con pics and pics from the three trailers/teasers. Nice work... If you wanted, nearly anyone on this board could have posted these images. Maybe change the name of this sight to Out Of Touch News.
-
"Tell me about a little movie called VAMPIRE IN BROOKLYN." That's comedy, and I salute you.
-
...just think, when they first got started there was no internet, FOX was an interloping 4th network that would never last, and the T.V. schedule featured shows like, In Living Colour, Beverly Hills 465798465 and the artist currently known as Prince was The Artist Formerly Known as Prince... (I know that last one is an anachronism, but I had to fit in a gag from the show)... I've always liked The Simpsons... not loved, liked... at some point I guess the show will come to an end; but for some reason I just can't imagine a FOX schedule without them... let's face it without The Simpsons the network might never have survived...an arguable point I admit but I stand by it.
P.S. to the guy that asked: an SP is a secular progressive... as coined by Bill O'Reilly. -
The Simpsons has become just as bad. I was watching the Perfect Storm episode (A parody of this in 2007?) and I can honestly say I didn't laugh once. It was fucking awful and everything we've seen from the trailers looks just as shitty. A rock and a hard place? Oh ha. Ha. Ha.
-
If the show was still any fucking good.
-
dude, i wish i could think like you. Don't you get that our hate comes from our love and devoltion to the show. We LOVE the simpsons. love them. And watching them become what they've become is killing us. You think we like coming on here and sayign it. we wnat the move to rock. We want to love it. but we're scared cause the show has become derivitive and unimaginitive.
-
in that other talkback? That didn't last long! ;) Seriously though, do you remember the quote where McGowan grumbled about not getting to no.1 with his Christmas song (with Kirsty McColl (sp?)) because of the Pet Shop Boys? Just can't recall what he said. Thanks mate.
-
It doesn't really matter that people think otherwise. We're dealing with a simple fact here. It's not up for debate.

See? I can say that too. -
acknowledged at the end that it was a dumb/Halloween-esque episode.

Now that there is everyone involved you know its gonna be a total mess.
-
i found a high-res of the mob scene but thats all
-
It's the show after season 10. If this show stays on the air (which it will) eventually there will be more guest-driven, mediocre-to-downright-shitty seasons then there are great seasons.

nevermind haha

not super high res but at least they are a little cleaner

"You idiots are actually excited about seeing images from this movie? Its not like we are looking at Venom or a transformer for the first time."
They couldn't write a better line for Comic Book Guy than that.
By the way, I disagree with some of you people's regarding entertainment! Let us fight with knives! -
You useless shits can't make your own movie or tv show, so you just come here and rag on one of the greatest shows of our time. While other so-called "Adult Cartoons" such as Family guy, ATHF, and SeaLab have all broken down into nothing but non-sequitors (hey, they USED to be funny), the simpsons writers keep making culturally relevant, character driven stories. None of you comic-book-guys will come around until the show's long over, when you go back and actually watch the episodes you talk so much (talking point filled) shit about. Look back at all the comments about the show being bad, and one thing becomes clear. All of these people got their opinions from one place. Whose blog was it, exactly?
-
I will meet you behind the school by the generator at 3:30.
-
with shit like "you people suck. Simpsons is awesome, fact. And anyone who doesn't like the Simpsons is just trying to make themselves look cool."
Uh...no. I just don't like the Simpsons. What's so hard to understand about that? Hell, I also like Pearl Jam, ramen noodles, Ang Lee's "Hulk", and giant angry spiders. Yes, I love those things very much. But I'm also not going to take it as some kind of threat and act like an ass just because someone else thinks that those things are just awful. I'm not going to say "You morons. Giant angry spiders are awsome, and if you say that they suck, you're just being a dick." Uh...no. It's much more likely that you just plain don't like giant angry spiders. And that is fine. That's not a threat to me. You are entitled to like what you like, I am entitled to like what I like. We can then agree to disagree about those things, and share with each other our love of the things that we do agree are awesome. But yeah, I DO think that The Simpsons sucks. But you don't see me being an asshole to you just because you happen to like it. -
I was watching Family Guy tonight, and remembered the time when it was announced that Fox was bringing it back, and all the nerds came out of the woodwork talking about how much better it was than the tired, old Simpsons. Then South Park made two whole episodes on why Family Guy sucks Iraqi cock. Then you don't hear so much from the Family Guy herd. Fair-weather fuckfaces.
-
I think, proved that it's not that funny. It has, at most, two jokes, and the rest are simply elaborate scenes stolen from other media with the Family Guy characters in it, i.e. Star Trek 2 and a Gene Kelly movie. That'd be like if the Simpsons movie turned out to be exactly the same as Die Hard With A Vengeance, only with Homer, Carl, and the Bumblebee Man as Gruber.
-
and I respect your opinion. But SOME people apparently liked Ang Lee's Hulk, or else they wouldn't have bought it. SOME people apparently like having pet tarantulas, or else pet stores would not have them in stock. I like them, you don't, and we do not have to agree on their good qualities (or lack thereof). But notice how I did not flip out because you dislike something that I like.
See, people disagree with whether or not certain things suck. And frankly, Ang Lee's Hulk and pet tarantulas are simply not worth getting into a fight over. As long as they give me enjoyment, I am secure in the fact that other people do not see things the same way as me, and that does not threaten my enjoyment.
Now, if I were to flip out just because someone here said that Ang Lee's Hulk was bad, what would be my reason for flipping out? If I'm acting like a dick just because someone disagreed with me, then it stand to reason that I'd be acting like a dick ALL THE TIME because there will ALWAYS be someone who disagrees with me. That kind of behaviour would be pathologically antisocial, and I don't think it's likely that anyone here is that socially stunted.
The other likely possibility is that I am trying to prove something. The question is, what am I trying to prove, and who am I trying to prove it to? It's one thing to disagree with someone's opinion and engage in healthy debate. But some people here actually seem to be getting ANGRY that other people don't like The Simpsons. WHY would someone get angry over something like whether or not a television show is good or not? That's what I'm getting at. -
You must not post here that often. All but two people on here are emotionally stunted. This is AICN.

really? that would probably explain why i stopped watching regularly about 8 or 9 years ago.

I think The Simpsons will have had 400 episodes by the end of the current season. In my opinion that breaks down roughly into 100 genius episodes, 100 good eps, 100 'meh' eps and 100 horribly unfunny eps. So the longer it goes on now, the more its average quality will be dragged down. Poor episodes outnumbering good ones will be a sad legacy to have when The Simpsons finally ends. Unless a miracle happens and it attains greatness again.
-
At first I opened this link and thought, "great, here we go with the same old Simpsons-related talkback. But like a true hypocrite, I figured I'd join in again. What the Hell? Yes, for several years now I have not found the Simpsons funny. And whether you agree about the show lower quality, you must agree it's very different than it used to be. And no, I don't think it's cool to hate the show or anything. It really pains me to once or twice a year tune into a new episode and see that yes, it's still not funny. Instead of laughs, I respond with, "I guess that was kind of funny." But almost everyday I turn on the TV and check the description of the local channel's syndicated reruns. If it sounds like an older one, I watch it. If it's one I know to be recent, I skip it. The older episodes used to stay in Springfield and focus on the characters and their personalities, etc. Now, there are so any episodes that follow certain patterns: The Simpsons go to [insert foreign country here]; Homer becomes a [insert wacky new profession that will include all new characters and a new setting]; The Simpsons all tell tales of [insert subject allowing characters to wear silly costumes and portray parodies of themselves]. I loved the Simpsons, and still do. Which is why I know it needs an intervention. But even so, I'm hoping and praying that the movie will be good and may even breathe some new life into the show. See, if I thought it was cool to hate the show, I just wouldn't care at all.
-
it aint being average. Everything is average. It'll be brought down by being 'too into itself' ... Think Looney Toons. The Road runner is possible the greatest animation ever created - just for it's sheer simplicity. it's sadistic fun. The problem today is it's not sadistic anymore. it hasn't been since the 70's. It's just higher quality and the same old shit. It's just not fun. Simpsons is still fun. And even when it's not really all that funny, it's still trying to be fun for you'r viewing pleasure. And from my own recollection of all the episodes I've seen.... ie; 90% ...... even when it's shit it makes it fun by admitting how shit it is. I still get a good laugh out of simpsons. Maybe it wont translate to the big screen... but I reckon it will :)
Seriously, this and Transformers I have faith in. POTC 3 I do not. Nor do I trust Superman returns 2. Maybe Batman begins 2. (calling it 'The Dark knight' is a good start though) -
"even when it's shit it makes it fun by admitting how shit it is" Admitting that your show sucks does not make up for it being so. It's not ironic or clever. It's like ripping off the plot of another show or movie and then acknowledging it. It doesn't excuse it. Like Studio 60 ripping off Network, and then saying "it was like the scene in Network" later in the episode.
-
When you're more excited for an Aqua Teen movie that you know is going to be sub-par, you know the Simpsons has completely lost whatever charm it once held for you. Pity.
-
its way too important. If this movie isn't very good...
-
I had "Eat my feature lengths" posted as a review to The Simpsons movie at the Four Word Film Review site over a year ago. See http://fwfr.com/display.asp?ID=13915

Man would I love to see a guy jumping a shark that is in the process of jumping the shark.
-
...that same shark: Wouldn't it be wild if, during the world premiere of this movie, reality just sort of collapsed upon itself under the weight of its own self-awareness and simultaneous disinterest?
-
this will be the anticipated movie to end all anticipated movies! i have been waiting for this movie to finally exist and open worldwide to make a shitload of money since the simpsons first hit syndication way back when the first toys were released. the simpsons movie will be the greatest fucking movie in history! july 27 2007 is just 6 months!! yeah!!! doh!
-
Simpsons is the longest running show in history. Of course Matt Groaning is laughing at aint it cool talkbackers
-
I think they said September this year for the be-all-end-all loads of extras version, as opposed to a movie-only version that would come out sooner. That's just my dodgy memory though.
-
...although for a briefer period than the Simpsons was. The reason it gets the favorable comparison is because it was more recently funny and, at the time, was much MUCH funnier than the Simpsons. Of course, at that time South Park was kicking the snot out of both of them, and that, too, has taken a turn for the unfunny. Seek ye tuks on Adult Swim. The Venture Bros. and Frisky DIngo demand your attention, amusement and subsequent respect.
-
...in the above post. Although some Tuks medicated ass pads would probably help after the two shows I've mentioned bend you over and show you who's funny.
-
everything sucks. Simpsons sucks. Family Guy sucks. South Park sucks. TV sucks. Movies suck. I guess there's nothing left for us to do than join the Peace Corp. Who is willing to get off their momma's couch and join me?
-
and a sickly one at that... it only lives for about 2 episodes then slips away quickly, but not necessarily painlessly...
-
It's true.
-
I'll just wait for the novelization by Norman Mailer.
-
I cry laughing at almost every Venture Brothers. I haven't been tickled like that since, well... early Simpsons. (Futurama is differn't, it grows. Like a wonderful virus.)
-
The Simpsons is not the longest running TV show in the world, it isn't even the world's currently still in production longest running animated series in the world.
-
Come on guys, hit it out of the park!!!
-
It's supergay.
-
Season 2 of Deadwood, in episode 4 Requiem For A Gleet, there is an utterance of every AICN TB'ers new favorite word: Taint. I'm not sure of the original air-date for the episode because HBO's site doesn't include one. However, since the DVD set was released on May 23, 2006, it probably aired sometime in 2005. Unfortunately that predates our AICN Taint-Fest '07 by about two years. A two-year-old mention of taint... how'd we miss that?
