Learn Who Plays Nathan Fillion’s Wife On Tim Minear’s DRIVE!!
I am – Hercules!!
Amy Acker will play the missing wife of Nathan Fillion’s character on Tim Minear’s Fox action-adventure-suspense-mystery-comedy-drama series “Drive,” according to timminear.com.
Both Acker and Fillion have worked with Minear previously, on “Angel” and “Firefly,” respectively.
Minear tells Ain’t It Cool that Acker will not be a regular on the show (her character is, after all, missing), but she will appear in multiple episodes.
Fox is expected to begin airing the series, centered on a very strange cross-country road race, this year.

And Acker is hot stuff.
-
Saw a commercial the other night and it made my roommates take notice. I was like "Guy who did Wonderfalls" and they go "OOOOOH! Sweet!" So, it has a bit of a built-in audience I'd wager.
-
I have a good feeling about this, but that might be just the Firefly\Wonderfalls fanboy in me taking over. I hope the interesting concept will draw enough ratings to keep it on the air.
-
Ive just come!
-
Although I'd have chuckled a bit more if they'd hired Christina "Yosaffbridge" Hendricks!
-
I kind of like Amy Acker
-
I just had a Point Pleasant flashback...
-
Is one of the hottest women on the planet. Why doesn't she get more work? That would have been great to have her as the wife. Our Mrs. Reynolds indeed.
-
Amy Acker looks a little young to be married to Fillion. But I guess after checking IMDB, she's 29 and he's 35... the same as my wife and I. I guess he's a cradle robber like me. yea!
-
Cuz...well, Yummy. But since this show was created by Minear, has a decent premise, and will probably be pretty good, we can all rest assured that Fox will likely schedule it against Lost or something equally fated to pound it in the ratings, and that it will last a whopping 4 episodes or so before being unceremoniously cancelled.
-
Cancelled both AD and Firefly, yet we're stuck with all of their other horrid programming.
-
Absolutely correct. Christina Hendricks is HOT!
-
The plan is for the show to start April 15 with a two-hour premiere, then Mondays at 8 for the duration. That;s the word from the Futon Critic site
-
I guess this is the closest to a Mutant Enemy reunion we're going to get until the Messiah Whedon comes back to TV. DAMN JOEL SILVER for seducing The Whedon with that long gestating Wonder Woman bullshit.
-
*sigh*...I can't believe I didn't recognize Caroline Dhavernas in her bit part in Hollywoodland...
-
seriously, whats with the massive headline for such minor news. /gleh
-
mad, mad, cannonball train planes and automobile 80 days around the world. it looks very cool- i'd like it better in movie form, or mini-series form. these semi-scifi-dramas are hard to keep alive on network TV.
-
Or are they going to run out of episodes by mid april?
-
before it's yanked for Skating with Celebrities II.Fox is like Lucy holding a football for us to kick and just like Charlie Brown, we keep charging up thinking,"She won't fuck me over again."
-
You just know they will abort this promising series early, by failing to properly program it against rival nets, by botching its ad/marketing campaign, and by mistreating its showrunners and team every step of the way -- just like they've done every other promising series that didn't yield X-FILES Season Four numbers right out of the gate. Fox is the absolute worst possible network to manage genre programming, and talented creatives like Minear, Whedon, Morgan & Wong and others ought to RUN any time Fox comes sniffing around after their product. Christ, I'd take my series to fucking cable before I'd let Fox wreck it. I'm eager to see this one, but I have absolutely NO hope that it will survive past its initial 8-13 episodes. Fuck you, Fox, you useless, talentless, soulless hack motherfuckers.
-
I appreciate her bosom.
-
around much anyway) wife! Another missed opportunity to give the most beautiful actress in the world more work. dammnit
-
Why the hell does Minear, Whedon, or anyone associate with Fox after being burned. Can anyone please explain.
-
A lot of network TV is -- networking. Sure, Joss and Tim et al. have been ass-fucked by Fox in the past, but at least the ass-fucker is willing to fuck them again.
-
amy acker seems too young to play that guy's wife doesn't she?
-
who did she play? whoever she is, she's definitely blah compared to chris-tits-a hendricks. me love yosafbridge!
-
In Hollywood, even a cancelled show can net you some serious money. Cynical system.
-
Amy Acker played Fred/Illyria on Angel and had a brief stint on Alias. She's petite, but very pretty in a girl-next-door sorta like way. Btw, she's also a great character actress...The way she was able to juxtapose between Illyria and Fred & vice-versa was very impressive.
-
my bad. but she's STILL not as va-va-voom as our mrs. reynolds!
-
Then it'll be up against that other magnet for Whedon refugees, "How I Met Your Mother."
-
... Rented Serenity 3x, bought Serenity 1x, Amazon'd the Firefly box, watched it mucho-x. Ms. Hendricks is beyond doubt a major slice of voluptuocity and her on-screen chemistry w/Fillion is just short of mesmerizing; but Ms. Acker has this whole "One night with her will be the death of you, boy - help me Jesus I can't stop myself." thang cuz, you know it, once you've peeled back the layers of that girl next door she's coming for you, and coming, and coming, and coming.
-
was playing the wife would have gotten me excited, and look at that, it did. Yeah, pairing this would 24 would instantly lead it (and presumably any show) to success. Like if The Inside had been paird with Idol rather than House.
-
Much as I actually really enjoy the guy and the roles that he plays he is the kiss of death to quality tv. Don't believe me, just look at the facts:Recurring guest role on The Visitor - cancelled first seasonJoins X-Files in a recurring guest role, turns out to be shows final seasonCast a series regular on Firefly, show is aired out of order and cancelled after only a few episodesMade a recurring guest on Angel, show is unexpectedly cancelled that yearCast as a regular on The Inside, show doesn't even last half a seasonCast as a regular on Day Break, show is pulled from air after only a handful of episodes shownAnd it's not just casting him in a regular or recurring role that'll kill your show, just having him do a guest shot will do it too, it just takes a little longer for the Baldwin curse to seep through:Guest spot on JAG, announced that the show's next season will be it's lastVoices Jonah Hex, Hal Jordan and Rick Flagg on JLU, shortly after he does Flagg it's announced that the next (already in production) season will be the show's lastThe Adam Baldwin curse is real, people, it's real, it happens, it can not be avoided, so cast him at your peril. And if you see Adam Baldwin show up on your favourite show, weep, for the end can not be far away!
-
...done anything that has lasted more than six episodes? Fury and Noxious, er, Noxon were shitcanned from their most recent gigs, Noxon, Minear, DeKnight and Petrie have all had failed shows, and the great Whedon is diddling Buffy comics somewhere while his Wonder Woman project languishes. So much for Buffy's great television and film legacy. Doubt very highly this show will change the status quo.
-
My campaign continues.
"Go Fuck Yourself" with The Word. -
She wasn't in any episodes or the movie. Unless she was casted for an upcoming role later in the season.
-
Very sweet woman.
-
... I believe the news that the show got the axe was after the 100th episode and well before any he appeared in.
-
...but not before he had started filming. It's the Adam Baldwin curse, it is real, and it's coming for your fave show next!
-
Exactly how many are we going to see on this show. Adam Baldwin? Rachel Nichols? Even Christina Hendricks in a guest star variety. Doesn't matter if Fos plays around with this show and cancels it prematurely.
-
I have an addiction and the only cure is more Amy Acker. Even though I'm sure Fox will cancel this halfway through. Praise Minear!
-
he's opportunistic and doesn't want to be tied down. he's got a great agent who keeps him steadily busy on projects that wont require any long-term committments. Also, he was awesome in the X-Files.
-
Just waiting to hear that she's been cast in DRIVE as well. C'mon, c'mon!! (Hendricks would be nice too. If we could get her and Richard Brooks on the same series this would be a slice of Firefly-reunion heaven)
-
I'm really liking the YoSaffBridge love in this TB.Christina Hendricks is indeed very yummy.Love me some Amy Acker too. Problem is, I don't see this lasting. The Premise + Minear + Mutant Enemy alumi + Fox TV = 5 out of order eps...if we are lucky. We need more Christina Hendricks on TV!!!!!!!!
-
i'm a straight married lady and i have christina girl crush, no doubt! maybe she could show up on BSG? stranded on some planet? plotting and scheming?
-
only set now.
and no mysticism.
and faster cars.
but for some reason Fillion going cross country in a car reminds me of Stahl. -
Damn lucky that all the shows Adam Baldwin is on just seem to miraculously get cancelled then, isn't it? Adam Baldwin in patient zero, the curse doesn't affect him, just everyone he comes into contact with.
-
I'm just sayin'...
