24!! NEWSRADIO!! ENTOURAGE!! BULLSHIT!! Herc’s Season-Box DVD Vault!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
I am – Hercules!!

Those who can’t wait for their TV shows to come to DVD will be excited to learn that Fox Home Entertainment is streeting the first four episodes of “24’s” sixth season
the day after they finished airing on the Fox network for about $11.
Also streeting today is Space Academy: The Complete Series
, CBS’ well-budgeted (well-budgeted for Saturday-morning TV that is) 1977-79 scifi show. It was an “X-Men”-ish affair about a school for superpowered kids. Two of them sported telekinesis, another telepathy, another invisibility. Only the school was located on a 33rd century asteroid instead of Upstate New York. And one of the kids had super kung-fu powers. So now that I think of it, this was actually more like “Legion of the Super-Heroes” than “X-Men.” It starred Jonathan Harris (“Lost in Space”) as the academy’s 300-year-old commander (and spun off the perhaps better-remembered “Jason of Star Command” starring “Star Trek’s” James Doohan).
The DVD set
boasts all 15 episodes from both seasons, a featurette, two audio commentaries, promos, stills, scripts and the series bible for $22.49.

Monty Python: The Complete Series 16-Ton Megaset
, more than $99 last week, is momentarily down to $64.99.
Four seasons of the funniest British TV show ever forged. 45 BBC episodes, plus a couple of rare ones made especially for German television, plus sketches performed live at the Hollywood Bowl, and loads of other extras. Giant blancmanges from another galaxy turning people into Scotsmen are included, as are The Most Disgusting Family In Britain Winners, and the Lumberjack Song, The Funniest Joke In The World, Defending Yourself Against Fruit, The Spanish Inquisition, The Bishop, The Dirty Vicar, The Dirty Fork, The Spam Sketch, The Oscar Wilde Sketch, and of course The Original Dead Parrot Sketch. Worth every penny and quite a few more.

Was that any good? I totally don't remember it.
-
Did Captain N Cook The Books?
-
Where is everyone?
-
I don't want to talk to any of you anyways.
-
Captain N looks totally gay.
-
I thought it was ALAS Smith and Jones.
-
great show, I might have to downlo...buy that one!
-
Really, you can't wait for the whole season to come out? I hate sets like that. It's like, for whatever reason, you can buy the first 6 episodes of season 1 of Frasier on DVD. It's just like they took the first DVD out of the season set, slap on some stock art, and call it, "The premiere episodes", and it's like they have a new product.
-
I'd say Prince Valiant shows up as a bigger blip than Captain N on the ol' Gaydar readout.
-
Mino. He doesn't have a penis, and that's why he wants one so bad.
-
Seasons 1-5 are currently available at £17.99 each at Play.com .... also, I agree with DanielKurland - it's such a money grabbing scam. The same way I hate them releasing volume/parts 1, 2, etc. Does anyone actually buy these?? Wait for the complete boxset at a fraction of the price you impatient dicks. If there wasn't a market for these, they'd probably release the complete sets sooner.
-
Kinda: http://www.little-dudes.co.nz/words-118 REMOVE THE SPACE
-
I've have a bootleg set of all the episodes (thank God for the nerds) and boy does this show suck. It's full of dated, not funny humor (think Monkees) that probably wasn't funny to begin with (hence the single season). Skip it.
-
It's crap.
-
how, ahem, "hard" of a "job" could it be to "work" the streets of san fran? I think you all know why I used quotes on those. but seriously there's REALLY a show about working the streets of san fran? do malden and douglas bust pre and post-op trannies hooking for their next surgery payment? perhaps raid city park restrooms and smash homo gangbangs? no seriously*
-
had all five seasons of "24" for $19.99 each a couple weeks back, so i jumped on that and bought the three i didn't yet have. good deal.
-
Tha't outrageous. 17 episodes only!
-
The British sure do like shows starring unkempt working class folks, don't they? I'm not complaining. Just making an observation after seeing all those box covers.
-
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH AMERICA?!?
-
when he gets his ass kicked by an asian 10-yr-old girl at every game, forcing him to retire in shame.
-
Every week someone is shocked at the huge price for a show with under 20 episodes. Let me clear this up. It's not as if this show is of an un-Godly quality, it has to do with music rights, and how the DVDs are out of print, and therefore more expensive. King of Queens sets would cost the same amount if the same situation applied.
-
Actually, no.
My So-Called Life has been out on DVD for five years and the retail price is $89.99.
http://snipurl.com/17mta
It does appear to be out of print, though.
I don't know where Herc got that info. Probably confused some Amazon seller's price with the retail price.
-
Finally!
-
Unless there's a bonus episode I don't know about where the ghost of Wild Bill Hickok comes back to haunt Jack McCall before his hanging....wait, that'd actually be awesome. Please tell me that's real.
-
Herc isn't confused. Herc has been doing that since the show went out of print.
-
I almost bought this a couple of weeks ago for $99, but decided against. I can't pass it up for $65, though.
-
Guess this place has a deal with amazon...cause i dont remember seeing them ever talk about how best buy had every season for sale for only 19.99 like 2 weeks ago.
-
Now I can finally shed my mortal coil and move onto my finally reward!
Who the *HELL* decides to put steaming piles of chit like this on DVD? For all who may not remember, the "N" stands for NINTENDO. I mean, if they are going to put crap out, then Q-BERT and POLE POSITION the complete series can't be too far behind. -
You can't beat that price with a stick for Monty Python. I bought my set for the same price right before Christmas and I still couldn't believe it until I got it in the mail. If there is one series to have in your collection, this would be it.
-
Has anybody heard about them releasing RED DWARF: THE COMPLETE SERIES in one set? I read about it somewhere but I'm not sure if it was legit or not. You know the internet, 5% fact/95% crap.
-
[growls]
-
No Mercy Point.
-
Princess Zelda with knee high boots is way hotter than Lana.
-
Where the hell is it? Anyone know?
-
Supposedly they'll be substituting the music that was in the show when it was originally broadcast. If they put some lame gerenic crap in there, you will know something is off, and in the back of your mind, you won't enjoy it. What a shame. All because of some dumb ass musician's ego. And why the hell won't they put Sammo Humg's MARTIAL LAW series on DVD? Captain N? CAPTAIN N?
-
Awesome! And I would like a complete series set of The Real Ghostbusters now please!
-
Seriously though, I didn't know there was a newer Fantastci Four cartoon than the 90's Marvel Action Hour one. Any good? Better than the film at least?
-
"Well excuuuuuuuse me, Princess!!" ;P
-
Hahaha, that's hilariously true. I guess that's because here in the UK, ugly people are allowed on TV, as opposed to US TV.
-
ooops!and the grammar in the 3rd post is quite bad. Sorry.
-
Is there a point to buying "24" now when they will probably be out in a better format in a couple of years? Will they eventually be released in HD?
-
The Season 6 Premiere DVD of 24 has 12 minutes of episode 6.5... sells at a street price of $9.99 and contains a coupon for $10 off any season set of 24, including season 6. How exactly is it a ripoff at -$0.01?
-
I always cracked up in the opening show sequence for TRG where the word "real" would come from off the screen and land in front of the word Ghostbusters with a little "explosion" to drive home the point.
-
Some of us (myself included) don't buy into hype and will not be jumping on the HD bandwagon. For me it's the whole DRM issue among other things. There will always be another format, so what's the point of buying anything? But to play devil's advocate, perhaps not all the extras from DVD will carry over to HD/Blu-Ray. This happened to laser disc, the extras = commentaries, delete scenes, galleries and featurettes didn't always carry over to the eventual DVD release. Format too. Some LD titles were released in widescreen, but the DVD is in full screen only. So there you go.
-
Can we please have the third fuckin' season already???? Motherfuck!!!!!!
-
Any word?
-
If the coupon doesn't have some early expiration date to screw people out of using it for the season 6 boxset, than yes, there's no harm in getting it. Most of these type of sets though do not offer such deals.
-
Vibro is right,
its hardly rip off i picked it up just 20 mins ago for 7.99 at Ameoba Records, and it comes with a 10.00 off coupon for any season one through six, that doesnt expire till 2008, so really its no different than when you put 10 down to preorder one of the big disney titles at bestbuy, except you get to own the first 4 episodes and first act of episode 5 now.
but i did have to search to find it Bestbuy, circuit city, wal mart and the virgin mega store right next to my work at the chinese theatre, didnt have it in stock they all said they sold it out this morning with prices rangeing from 8.00 to $10.00
-
Come ON, the bare midriff and the skirt slit to the waist and the big hair? Lana was waaaaaaaaaaay hotter for a 15-year-old in 1989.
