The Japanese have a SPIDER-MAN 3 TV Spot with some new footage!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Now this 60 second TV spot from Japan is structured like the trailers we've seen here, but we get at least 10 seconds of new footage, dialog with Aunt May and some choice words from a previous villain. No new Venom stuff... aw, sweet Venom... I'm actually hoping they save the rest of the Venom stuff until we're in the theater. My understanding is we'll get more than just a tease of the brain-eating brute.

It's undeniable. During the shot of huge Sandman coming out of the building and swiping at the street, Godzilla's voice comes out of his mouth. I'm sure the Japanese audience is gonna pick up on this. I wonder if they'll like the homage or if they'll feel insulted like the company is trying to pander to them subliminally.

i swear that shot of him falling trying to grab the ring looks almost exactly like Frodo in Fellowship when he falls backward and tries to grab the ring in mid air.

Didn't you know that it's a law in Japan that when any movie shows a giant monster, or similar type character, they must scream like Godzilla.

Has anyone leaked where the suit comes from in this version of the story? Are they going with Jameson's son bringing it back from space or what?

is that Spidey will stumble on the black suit at the same facility where Sandman gets... sand..ified. Like, while he's investigating Sandman, he'll find out that the same company/government program/whatever that made that machine that turns people into sand for some reason, also made the black symbiote. And then the symbiote will follow him home.

That was the first thing I thought of too. I looks like there may be other more subtle similarities--the Smeagol-Deagol (good/bad personas) of Spiderman/Peter Parker come to mind from looking at this trailer.

I remember the first time I saw it and laughed thinking they used the Godzilla sound. Personally I think that's cool because Godzilla rocks the shit. Anyway I completely agree with the posters above about Transformers, might because I think that Le Bouf kid or whatever is probably most horrible actor ever. If his dad Steven Speilberg? Because I have no idea why he keeps getting into big movies when really no one likes him. SP3 is going to kick Transformers ass this summer because this movie looks epic while Transformers looks like a mix of Jurrasic Park/ID4 and American Godzilla.

Sony really took the wind out of Spider-Man 2 by showing so much of it before it was released. I hope they don't so the same thing this time, because I'd like a few more surprises in the cinema. Also, more Evil Dead related cameos.

I'm not sure I'd say stale, but my big worry about Spider-Man 3 is that they'll be repeating themselves. As good as I think Spider-Man 2 is, the big flaw in that film is that it is, beat for beat, very silmilar in structure to the first one, even down to having carbon copy scenes like Pete taking out the trash and whatnot. I hope they don't do that this time out.Mind you, if you look at Raimi's other trilogy, the pattern is: good first film - better second film that's practically a remake of the first one - third film that's completely different and goes a bit far into comedy but has all the best one-liners. I can't tell from the trailer - is there any indication Spider-Man 3 is set in medieval times?

The scariest thing to me is the whole creating your own unique new hero/villian The Green Snowboarder, or whatever he will be called, is probably more of a problem for me. Decades of material and you feel the need to bring in your own nuclear man? Especially when there are so many goblin options from the source material. It also makes it harder for anyone to come in and tell a good Hobgoblin mystery/storyline in the future. The previews look good to me though. Raimi's Spider-Man isn't quite what I like about Spider-Man, but I can still find quite a bit to like about it.

Though i agree. Peter Parker should be played by Ken Watanabe so people in Japan can emote more with the character.
