The AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE movie set for release in two months!!!

Published at:  Jan 03, 2007 12:24:20 AM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with an update on the long anticipated AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE movie. First Look Pictures is releasing the film this March in over 800 theaters.

The flick will tell the origins of Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake and a piece of exercise equipment that threatens world peace.

I don't know about you, but I'm totally ready for an 86 minute theatrical dose of Adult Swim's, arguably, best series!

Venture Brothers, hands down. ATHF is kind of funny sometimes, but overall it's just too incoherent.

    [Adult Swim]'s best series?

    by evil lincoln

I'd have to agree with you there if we are just talking about the first two seasons. After that, the series starts going down hill in my opinion. I'd much rather see a Venture Brothers or Frisky Dingo movie at this time. We've heard so many bad things about the movie so far that I'm not sure if it's even worth going to a early showing to save a few bucks.

    The Paradox

    by snomusic

Do you feel ...."Cold as Ice"?
There - that takes care of them.
Metalocolypse - dumb - Kid Notorious was better. Venture Bros. that's ok, Robot Chicken - sweetness. Frisky Dingo - after Assie McGhee I never gave it a chance.Personally I am looking so forward to this movie. 12 minutes, even 2 episodes in a row isn't nearly enough for me - I like very episode except one - the Boost Mobile crud. I hope they fill it with terribly wrong images, ala the barely alive Santa, Carl having his skin ripped off by a demon from another dimension and great words of wisdom like:"I thought you said television was bad for us.""I did. But we f^@*in' need it." Classic.

And I hope we get to know how Frylock knows Dr. Weird. And I want more Frylock in bondage - too funny. And perhaps a guest appearance by Harvey Birdman and Space Ghost. And as a side note - there should be a Sealab 2021 short before the movie - even if it's a replay of Isla de las Chupacabras. OK, I'm done dreaming - what's scary is I don't drink of do drugs.

However, a show designed around 15 minute episodes, might not be a terrific idea for a feature. The writing and gags would have to be "top notch" to endure 86 minutes.
ALSO SNOMUSIC: I'd be curious to know the answers as well, as long as they are completely surreal.

    by ray gamma

I've seen one whole episode of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" and it is honestly the crappiest, most grating, pointless, juvenile, unfunny, random, aimless, meandering, boring, annoying bollocks I've ever, ever watched. Listen up, producers of this pile of shit, it's not surreal. Okay? It's just shit. Surreal would be good. This cartoon however, is like something a bunch of 18-year-old animation club nerds would produce if they were given an Avid machine.

For the first two seasons, ATHF was the second best show on Adult Swim, sorry, but the number one slot will always go to Sealab 2021. The writing for the show has dropped off sharply in recent times and I can't imagine watching a almost ninety minute show the way it is currently being written. Give me a Venture Brothers movie and I will be there in a second.

I'd probably throw in METALOCALYPSE and SQUIDBILLIES after THE BOONDOCKS and that's probably about it. Everything else -- ASSY MCGEE, TOM GOES TO THE MAYOR, 12 OZ. MOUSE, FRISKY DINGO, etc. -- needs to be airlocked per the orders of President Laura Roslin.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force was never even close to being AS best series.

...we actually bought a desk hutch and drilled out a hole in the back for cables. Now the TV sits on that with the DVR in the space beneath and the 360 standing longways next to the TV. Looks almost like real furniture designed for that purpose. Have you checked out Frisky Dingo yet? I was hesitant, but I'm kind of hooked now. Oh, and to the guy who dismissed the entirety of Venture Bros. as less funny than any Master Shake aside: Huh? No offense, man, but you've got to be pretty young. ROBOT CHICKEN?

    by llephen

    are you kids RETARDED?
If there's one show i absolutely LOATHE on adult swim it's robot chicken.
The entire show is comprised of one joke repeated ENDLESSLY.
"Here is a doll or toy doing/saying something that dolls and toys aren't supposed to do/say, while mimicking some unfunny pop culture reference that wasn't funny the first 300 times jay leno made corny jokes about it."
    robot chicken SUCKS.
Futurama and family guy suck too, and they suck even worse because every episode has been aired like 5 times of each series. Oh look peter's having some flashback about some stupid thing he did in the past. That will never get old. Please make every single joke a cliche or a flashback. Also make stewie (the BABY!) smart (!!!!!!!) and the dog (THE DOG) talk (!!!!!!!!) and BE SMART (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I wonder if rascally old Bender is gonna act rascally and say playfully chauvinistic/bigoted things?? Maybe there will be a joke about the professor being old or that red guy being some weird alien. They should work those angles into the show sometime. I think it'd work.
Aqua Teen is the cornerstone of adult swim (it would be space ghost if it was still around). And it is hilarious. The genius up there that watched one (11 minute) episode and declared it the stupidest thing he's ever seen or whatever is a genius. Brilliant.
I think that adult swim is a great litmus test. The people that "get it" are more into the weird stuff like aqua teen, 12 oz mouse, assy mcgee, and moral orel, while the weekend warrior everyday joe tunes in (early) to catch futurama and family guy, and sometimes robot chicken. hey! this show is funny, i just saw a claymation character do something violent!! ATHF is Spongebob for adults. VB is the most consistantly funny show on [as]. It is the only show that went from being a parady show into int's own twisted mythology with expanding and intricate storylines. ATHF is a one note show. But I guess you think a rambling robotic turkey from the future is funnier than Brock Samson breaking a guy's hand with his asshole.

I love it when people categorically like weird stuff and then have to act all superior and say stupid shit like others don't "get it". ATHF is a funny show, but saying Futurama, Family Guy, and Robot Chicken are not funny automatically nullifies any credibility you have. Yeah sure, 12 oz. mouse is funnier than Futurama, and Uwe Boll is a great director.
