Returns Jan.14. I can't wait. Jack Bauer is gonna own your ass. GRAVITAS!!!!!!
-
Maybe it's just the Violent Femmes song they used in the promos, but I've really taken a shine to that show...
-
I thought it was going to be a movie. The concept of Jackson doing a weekly show is interesting, and where's How I Met Your Mother on the list?
-
You have a listing for the return of fuckin wrestling, but nothing for CSI.
Okay then. -
That makes more sense.
-
I remember seeing somewhere that it was returning in January, and I know that it usually seems to coincide with "Smallville". It's a great show. Now it doesn't even make the release list?
-
Never thought I'd say this, but Mary Tyler Moore looks so hittable on that DVD cover. Man, what legs!
-
i have to assume you haven't been watching any football whatsoever on cbs, because they've been promoting the hell out of the show's return.
-
i could have sworn it was supposed to return this january, but, judging by the fact that the season five dvd set doesn't come out until april, the season premiere has been pushed back to then. also, anyone know when "the sopranos," "big love" or "entourage" will return? or even "curb your enthusiasm"?
-
I know it's sometime in March, but is there a set date yet?
-
I can't wait 3 more weeks! ... better go watch the last ep *again*
-
And what's up with IFC anime getting listed?
-
Now that's a show i can't wait to see!
-
I think that returns January 9th, right?
-
Just sayin'.
-
My Name is Earl and 30 Rock also return on January 4th alongside The Office. Scrubs is a rerun that night. Did you guys pick and choose what to list or was this list supposed to be complete?
-
Scrubs (NBC) Jan. 4
The OC (Fox) Jan. 4
My Name is Earl (NBC) Jan. 4
American Dad (Fox) Jan. 7
The Simpsons (Fox) Jan. 7
Supernatural (The CW) Jan. 11
Grey's Anatomy (ABC) Jan. 11
Gilmore Girls (The CW) Jan. 23
Family Guy (Fox) Jan. 28

Anyone got any UK dates for anything, (e.g. Rome, Earl, House, Wire, Heroes, Prison Break etc). I know the Sky One shows, (can't miss the advertising), but anything else?
-
Do you boycot them or something ?
In that case:
Next Supernatural ep is 1/11/2007
Next Las Vegas ep is 1/5/2007
The Shield was supposed to start in januari but now no info can be found. Can't wait to see Shane get his.
-
SCI FI is trying to bury them, I guess.
-
That's the best show on HBO, maybe on television period.
-
They will be back on Sci Fi in April, so yeah I guess they are trying to bury the shows. Ridiculous, since filming wrapped on them 3 months ago. The new episodes start in the UK next week, so I'll be firing up my bit torrent client, I guess.
-
Honestly, most under rated show, and FOX treats it like shit.
-
Am I the only one who who watches No Reservations? Anthony Bourdain is pretty cool.
Starts the new season (and a marathon) tonight, 1/1. -
A Tom Sizemore reality show sounds like one of those compulsive viewing train wreck shows. Hopefully we get guest appearances by Oliver Stone and Val Kilmer too, LOL
-
I know there is some hate out there for Haggis, but after seeing the promo for The Black Donnellys, I'd really like to know if hers or anyone has seen an actual episode. I can't find a air date on nbc's website. All it reports is that it's a midseason replacement. Anyone?
-
Yeah No Reservations is great shit, Bourdain is a great "fuck you" antidote to all other travel/food shows. He's in Ireland tonight, sounds like wacky antics will ensue!
-
Watch "The Wire." Just one season, and you'll forget all about network TV cop shows. You'll think you've been watching "Blue's Clues" with guns all these years.
-
She was cast on the show "Richard Diamond, Private Detective" in the 50s as Sam, the detective's secretary. You never saw her face, they only showed her legs.
-
Anyone know what's happening with Sleeper Cell now that series two has aired? Showtime bullshit site won't let anyone outside the U.S. access it.
-
These shows are returning, yes?
-
Oh, boy...after that stunning season opener...and the introduction of Juliet...I had such high hopes for Lost in Season 3...but the next 5 eppys left me scratching my head...and not in a good "Lost" way. It used to be the more mysterious they cleared up, the better it got. Now, with each new revelation, I feel they are just painting themselves into an even smaller corner. I hope I'm wrong! I'll be there Feb 7th...but I hope I'll still watching come May. For those who miss Shannon...make sure you check out this skit from the guys over at Nobody's Watching. Namaste! http://tinyurl.com/w2cw6
-
It was disagreeably meh. It helps to remember Paul Haggis also created "Walker: Texas Ranger." Conan likes to mock it with a giant lever.
-
It is... Though apparently it is an episode that was supposed to air in November.
-
just before the Rose Bowl. Looked awesome. Looks like Juliet may really screw over Jack. I know their are a ton of haters on this sight, but I love this show. Can't wait till February 7th.
-
Travel channel is also home to "Most Haunted",a ghost hunting show with the most cowardly investigaters I've seen in my life. Funniest thing ever. Anthony Bourdain's show looks interesting, but I can never seem to get my ass in front of the tv for the hour he's on. Looking forward to "Battlestar Galactica" Sundays. On the subject of Sci-Fi shows, anyone plan to check out "The Dresden Files" which I believe will be on right before "Battlestar"? Sometimes I hate investing time in a new show on Sci-fi, seeing that sometimes the show will get the axe and leave you high and dry.
-
Like Toe Jam brought up. I swore they said the show would return in January. Unless there were scheduling conflicts with "Rise of the Silver Surfer"? Now we get "Dirt" with Courtney Cox. I think she's still pretty good looking. But there's some other really cute chick on the show. Don't know her name, but I saw her in the ad for the show during the watered down cut of "White Chicks" on FX.
-
Bless the Lifetime network, for greenlighting this series. Sometimes, you just have to do what's right, not what's popular.
-
Bourdain is the shit, a hero among line cooks of all stripes. His books are fucking hilarious, and a must for anyone with a burgoning interest in consumption beyond the realm of Hot Pockets. Yeah, I said it again- fuck you in the ear BadMrWonka.
-
Mark my words, "I Love New York" will be the best show to ever grace television. You will worship at its feet.
-
Anyone who is a fan of cruiserweight wrestling or TNA's X-Division should watch this for the Dragon Gaye guys from Japan. They're the best in the world and were trained by Ultimo Dragon.
Variety calling it amateur wrestling is just hilarious. -
Dragon GATE. That's one damn unfortunate typo.
-
Amazon WTW!!!
-
They're trying to rearrange the season to match other shows seasons since SG-1 will be gone after the second half of the season. Over the last few years the stargate shows had their own seasons that as far as I can tell cooincided with nothing at all.
-
...when these shitty shows (apart from Galactica and 24) return.
-
At least i think so. It was supposed to be in January, but now it looks like it will be around the same time when the The Sopranos returns.
-
I can't believe the programing genius that cooked up this! Now we've got several hours of Jake 2.0 on Fridays! BSG is on too late for me to watch so I'll have to record it! I get up at 5:30am on monday. I don't know about the Dresden Files? The rest is filled up with their awful movies and reruns of Eureka! What are these guys doing? I'll be a long time until Stargate in April! And even then it's not as good as it was! What are these guys doing?
-
I thought this might be an good time to bring up something I posted about 2 years ago during the death of Enterprise. Back then I sighted the alarming trend toward lack of quality Science fiction and genre programing. Just a few years ago there was so much to choose from now there's almost nothing. I think the comment was back then " Well we have Battlestar Galactica why do we need Star Trek?
Well this is why! ST was the leader and it's fall is symptomatic of what's going on. A slip back into mediocrity. Reality shows, game shows, bad sitcoms, yeach! A few years ago there was so much to choose from! Xfiles, Star Trek, Farscape, you name it! Now it's next to nothing and the same kind of trolls on this board want to take out Battlestar Galactica. I did mention at the time the trend might even threaten the SciFi channel itself . You may laugh but even Scifi used to be better than it is now! We should demand more of our TV programers and bring Science Fiction and genre programing back to the air waves!
Ps. And what the hell is ECW doing on SciFi!!!! -
Of the time me and like 12-15 people crashed the Survivor talkback last year and turned it into a Smallville/Supernatural tb. :P
-
Is that wise? Why not just move Heroes to 8pm, and avoid splitting the numbers?
-
"ST was the leader and it's fall is symptomatic of what's going on." Star Trek started its long plummet after the two-parter from TNG, "The Best of Both Worlds." After that, it was episodic drivel at worst and stand-alone decent episodes (i.e. "Yesterday's Enterprise") at best. DS-9 started well, but was a pale imitation of B-5 after it started aping the War of the Shadows. Love or hate B-5, it showed that continuity and ongoing story could carry a show and make it great. Voyager was total crap. Enterprise wasn't good until season 4, when Berman & Braga were stopped from further desecrating Trek's corpse, but by then it was too late. Besides, when the writing improved, you noticed how dull the actors were. As for Sci Fi getting "worse," instead of Farscape we have Doctor Who, Torchwood, BSG, Lost, Heroes, "The Lost Room," and even Eureka. Sure, fewer spaceships, but better programs overall. I'd take a hundred pointless epsiodes of "Lost" over a 7-season run of "Voyager" any day.
-
Nice.
-
Lost, Galactica and 24, I really don't care about anything else. Every once in a while I may catch Heroes Fridays on Sci-Fi, but I probably won't.
-
You're right... why the fuck is wrestling on Sci-Fi anyway. I think the programmers have their demographics a little screwed up. By the way, Sci-Fi will begin airing "Enterprise" this month. I believe it's going to be airing Mondays replacing "Stargate" Mondays. Syndication can be good sometimes. I can watch current and past favorites, so I figure what the hell. Will give "Dresden Files" a shot...
-
"One will die, one will realize they are a cylon, and one will find earth." Bam. can't wait for this to start back up.
-
Jussssst curious. Tango.
-
I guess your not the only one. Without a release date, it seems a lack of confidence is impeding it.
-
Why Denny Crane gets no love from Herc, I have no idea.
-
Fun show...it did well at SF & got renewed. Any word on it's return? Another one we were sucked into was "Hex" on BBC/Amer. I'm surprised there's been ZERO talkbacks or Herc-Hyping on either of these, as both are custom-tailored for AICN'ers (and Herc, specifically). Eureka fills the "witty sci-fi geek" niche & Hex gives Buffy/Angel fans something in a similar, er, 'vein'.
-
Why??
-
Both shows are coming back this summer on BBCAmerica and Scifi, respectively. But Hex only had one more series before it got canceled, I think, so we'll be seeing the last of the new (to the US) eps this summer.
-
C'mon Herc, I'm no Haggis fanboy, but everyone has a few skeletons in their closet. So he did Walker, Texas Ranger. So what? Better writers than him have worked on worse shows than that. Haggis' Due South was great fun; EZ Streets was greater.
-
and...
-
Nice to see classics like "Starveillance" listed, but no mention of many of the highest rated shows (no listing of any of the CSI's either, Ugly Betty, etc). Nice to see that Herc is more interested in flaunting his personal biases than being useful. I'm not surprised.
-
Lost for me is boring! It takes forever to get around to anything plot wise. At least Heroes moves along. But thanks for proving my point. We don't have B5 either! As for DS9 I thought it started out a bore and became better when they had the dominion war. Also haven't you read the negative press some of the people here are giving BSG? It sounds just like what they used to say about Enterprise. Where you see a better group of shows I see not enough and a growing trend toward less. One of the main complaints about BSG ( and don't get me wrong I love that show ) is it's soap opera elements. This is a big problem with contemporary shows. One of the funny things about say the 200th episode of Star gate was when they showed the trend toward a younger demographic. A younger version of Teac and Vala were standing around talking about her being pregnant. You can have character driven plot lines without this kind of drivel. Without sacrificing the plot. That's what they were lampooning. Doctor Who is good but it took almost an act of god to get it on the SciFi channel. And will Torchwood be on the SciFi channel? And how watered down will it be? The lost room for me was kind of a let down. It started out well but really didn't go anywhere. Not enough explained or resolved. A common fault among the contemporary shows. And none of the modern shows you mention have that sense of wonder that is so good in science fiction. Something that the original Star Trek and even the Xfiles had. Where you see more I see a trend toward less. We need more and better Science Fiction programing.
-
Is there any word on when/if either series will return?
-
I thought that was coming back in January? Don't tell me that American Idol has bumped it back....
-
For as long as I can recall, Sundays have always had too much on. I can manage two shows at the same time, but Rome, BSG and the Fox anim block all back to back? It's too much for the DVR to handle. Also, I really like coming home from a long day of work and watching some new TV. I never say, "boy that was a rough Sunday, I can really use some good story telling right about now." I know I can timeshift stuff to my schedule, but I'm not sure that I have that level of patience.
-
Just watched the first 4 episodes...i was very impressed with what I saw. A lot of murder and Jack going dracula on a baddie.
