Quentin Tarantino didn't let Samuel L. Jackson play with any of the samurai swords in "Kill Bill," but the erstwhile Mace Windu presumably gets to finally swing a little steel tonight.
A new cartoon titled “Afro Samurai” premieres this Thursday at 11 p.m. on Spike, but word on the street is - beginning midnight tonight - you can get an early glimpse of its gory animated mayhem here!

and maybe a grand story arch to compliment the overall basic, I have to kill this dude don't get in my way overall plot. lonewolf and cub the tv show is allright in theory but killing newly introduced characters every week ends up crap for tv (as a movie the thin plot is fine) samurai champloo and samurai jack are both great examples of shows that might not have been cancelled if there was more to be resolved.

It's only 5 eps or something and then Sam hopes to make a live action version. The episodes will be available uncut on DVD once Spike finished airing it... Looks t be taking the Kill Bill/Ninja Scroll appraoch with the animation style of Animatrix's 'World Record' Looks grand and fun as fuck! But the whole hip hop meets samurais should be credited to Cowboy Bebop's Shinichiro Watanabe for Samurai Champloo.
