The IRON MAN teaser site launches with nifty logo!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a link to the teaser/logo site for Jon Favreau's IRON MAN. Favreau announced it today on his MySpace Page and I really dig the logo design. Very cool, simple... feels right, you know? The flick goes into production early next year with Terrence Howard as Rhodes and Robert Downey Jr. as the man behind the mask himself. the casting I mean. The site is pretty meh...for now....
-
So far so good...
-
Either way... I'm so there. Downey Jr. = brilliant casting (and I'm not even a big fan of his).
-
And stop working on films that don't matter! He can do that after... ;)

Wow...a logo...still better than a description of it.

But nothing is better than torture porn!
-
the man is incredible.
-
... I expect my Iron Man logo to have bolts!
-
...and bring in a herd of... HELLGOATS!
-
After seeing this pic, I definitely will avoid this movie. Never in my life have I been so disgusted with this representation of a comic book movie...and this is just the pic! You geeks should all get together and boycott this film!
-
This is all wrong. If they don't even use the original outfit with the bucket helmet, this movie will tank. They'll probably use some b.s. high teck CGI armor. GIVE ME BUCKETHEAD!!!
-
Albeit a skinny War Machine but hey....
-
I want Ender's Game, too! I was just wondering if whomever is writing Iron Man is using any of Card's work.
-
Or at least molten metal. It needs to scream "industrial educational film"! But, I am excited to see how it turns out. As it goes along, it may develop into El Suckola.
-
I interviewed OSC last summer about the Ender's film, and he said that while he had met with Iron Man's producers, they were not making a film based on his version of the story.

Seriously... have you ever seen PCU? Best college flick ever!
-
This is all wrong! Anyone who's seen the Iron Man logo knows it's not supposed to look even *remotely* like this. It just shows a total lack of respect for the fans, critics, porn stars, and the deaf. This is not the Iron Man logo I grew up with. They may as well call this movie Zinc Man. IMLINO!!!!
-
What do you think this is Steel with SHAq?
-
a) if you don't know the difference between "wears" and "where's", you need to shut the fuck up. <br> b) shut the fuck up.
-
This movie made me long for a new Tron than for any Iron Man movie. It's pretty much the exact same.
-
...from an uncontrollable gigglefit. Thanks and expect a dry cleaning bill.
-
feels more like it should belong to a Green Lantern movie if that ever comes to pass.
-
Since it's Jon Favreau, the logo is awesome. If it were Brett Ratner, the same logo would have sucked. If it were George Lucas, the logo would have raped everyone's childhood. If it were Michael Bay, the logo would represent everything that's wrong with filmmaking. If it were Tarantino, Harry would have posted the logo himself and used some really inappropriate language about his anatomy to describe it. If it were Spielberg, the logo would have been WOTW SUCKED! SHUT UP MUNICH ROCKED! and so forth.
-
only in red.. huh?
-
It's just a teaser POSTER!!! I swear you guy's just bitch to get guy's like me pissed off...well done. And if you want the "original" suit then you should want the original dialouge with the original time-line to go with it. Keep it modern. The suit, the story, Tony's problems and genius. And when Rhodes suits up, play Kiss' "War Machine"! That would be sweet. "Gonna bite the hand that feeds me!" ....sorry.
-
He can actually play someone besides himself. He is way too short, though. But then, so was Michael Keaton.
-
but rather just a close-up of his armor's chest plate with the rest of the armor in shadows...
-
Let it shine whereever you go...
-
Where do you get this Green Lantern shit?
-
It would be fine if it was for the upcoming animated movie, but it's for the live action one! it should be high tech and cool looking, not this cartoony font with cartoone chest ray (or wathever it's called)
-
Yet you cannot seem to make the rather simple leap of turning the light emanating from the circle green instead of yellow, which would make it look virtually exactly like Green Lantern's lantern. Interesting.
-
its a big day for marvel!
-
ONCE AGAIN! AICN is scooped by SHH! http://www.superherohype.com/news/fantasticfournews.php?id=5040
-
OMFG, you have me rolling! HAHA!!!!!
-
In shittiest day, in fuckheadedest night No anus shall escape my sight Let those who worship fartplum's might Beware my power, Turd Lantern's light!
-
Pack away the Pythonesque, condescending verbage. Comic Book Guy resurrected that dead horse ages ago and buried it soon thereafter. The graphic also looks like the fucking headlamp on The Polar Express or the Hogwart's Express...but it isn't is it? You seem incapable of making the simple deduction that it is what it is. Now, go home and let granny dig that Optimus Prime outta your ass.

This is the level of quality we, the audience, have not been subjected to for 60 years. 4 minutes and 35 seconds of quality cinematography, editing, dancing, singing, acting, special effects. Film: Blue Skies Year: 1946 Company: Paramount Pictures http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j02k9t4rP50

He's a great actor but he's been looking too soft lately for a superhero,even a mechanical one.Too much party-party,man.
-
He would fight crime using the "Power of his Transistors" in his bright yellow Iron Man suit. For you kiddies under 35 transistors were what came after radio tubes and before RAM.
-
There could have been more to it. Iron man's design is all about the way the pieces of armour move over one another so they could have introduced some sort of carapace design to the lettering. Also aren't the eyes more iconic than the disk in the centre of the chest? I'm interested to see where they go with this pic butfrom this I just get a "meh".
-
I want a movie with Iron Man, Silver Surfer, Superman: The Man of Steel, Doc Savage:Man of Bronze, Shaq as Steel, Goldfinger, Tin-Tin and Metal Mickey. Imagine that! Soundtrack by Freddie Mercury and Nickelback.
-
Last I read, he was Favreau's first choice and he'd been approached, but had not yet confirmed.
-
You know you want to know.
-
The better part of me thinks that I should let this go, since this discussion is obviously the most important conversation that you are going to participate in this year. And I would hate to spoil that for you. Though, at the same time, since you yourself name at least two examples of others things that the logo looks like, it means that you too must be some sort of moron, no;)
-
You know, ...I continue to be sadly disappointed when it comes to any news on this project. I'm quite a large fan of IRON-MAN... but wow, where is this thing headed??? Somebody, please, ...tell me, ...how does this logo has anything to do with iron? Oh, yeah, I get it. It must be the "man" that holds more influence over the design. Yeah. RRRRrrrriiight. --People, get a clue. Just look at the history of "IRON-MAN" comic book logos and pull from that, ...at least to SOME degree. But then, this production does nothin' but piss me off... so why should I help you? --You know, within those rounds with Sly Stallone, he described the difference between action stars of years past compared to today. IRON-MAN is a man of those days past (with a mind for modern technology). I respect Robert Downey Jr., ...enough, ...as an actor. But he will never be Tony Stark, in my eyes.
-
My wife's reaction was, "Lame." She continued, "And besides, that looks like the Green Lantern logo." And you know what? She's right. I could easily see the white circle having the symbolic green lantern inside. --OK, that's all I'm helping you people. For now, anyway.
-
My thoughts exactly. This should have been a picture of Downey in a gutter with a bottle of whiskey and people would say WTF? The way they did the first time they saw the old bat logo ads that were so effective, but are now so overdone as to be meaningless, like this one....
-
The words "Iron" and "Man". Other than that, I got nuthin'. Wake me when there's news.
-
Really. He has that Debonair Tony Stark Charm, but also inner rage and mania. To me Downey is sort of an over the hill slob type, I dont really believe him being an agile warrior. SO what was it, Howard not a big enough name? Or some kind of BS relectance of a black lead? In any case he would have been perfect and Downey loses credibility.
-
Ya know, I give Depp his props on being a good actor; but I've got two problems with him as Stark: 1) He's too slim & pretty. I envision Stark having somewhat more heft and a grizzled, rugged charm. And 2) when I watch Depp acting I have trouble forgetting that it's Depp acting. When I see Downey, I have trouble remembering that it's Downey. So I'm definitely down with Downey. And Favs has an open-ended line of geek cred at my bank. I'll take time off from work to see this film.

Why don't you tell us how you would direct the Iron Man movie project?
