The Mysterious Greynolds Park Talks NATIONAL TREASURE 2 Plot!!

Merrick here...

Greynolds Park was kind enough to send us some details about NATIONAL TREASURE 2 (rumored to be subtitled "THE BOOK OF SECRETS", although that may not be 100% certain).

I've heard conflicting reports about when NT2 will go into production: everything from early January to mid-February 2007. Either way, it's scheduled to be released for Christmas 2007. Wow, that's tight (it's been so long since I've said that).

John Turteltaub will direct. He directed the first film, and is Executive Producing TV's post-nuclear-terrorism opus JERICHO -- which I can't get enough of, despite its inconsistency. Nicolas Cage, Jon Voight, and Diane Kruger return as well.

I've been going back and forth with Greynolds for a while now. He's very clipped and succinct, but he's "the real thing".

His message reads thusly (evidently, he even put his e-mail through SPELL CHECK!?!?!? Wowzers...)

THERE ARE SPOILERS BELOW!!!

IF YOU WISH TO REMAIN PURE/CLEAN RE: THE FILM'S PLOT, STOP READING HERE!!!

REMOVED AT THE REQUEST OF DISNEY

I really enjoyed the first NATIONAL TREASURE and think a follow-up could be a blast.

A huge thanks to Greynolds Park -- we're looking forward to your next communique.
