Trailer for the Michael Douglas/Evan Rachel Wood flick KING OF CALIFORNIA pops up!

Published at:  Dec 19, 2006 2:57:44 AM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We've been following this production for a while now, and thanks to "Ravvy" we now have a slow-loading link to the trailer on a foreign distribution house's site.

If you're not familiar with the project, it's a flick produced by Alexander Payne (ELECTION, SIDEWAYS) about a guy who is released from a mental institution (Michael Douglas) who is convinced there is buried treasure out there... and he knows how to find it. So, his estranged daughter (Evan Rachel Wood) is convinced to humor the old man. The movie is their journey.

The trailer looks great. Can't wait to see the flick sometime next year!

What happened to the other film?

    by bungion boy

Until recently, IMDB listed a film in development that Alexander Payne was going to write and direct. It had sort of the same premise. Eccentric father goes on road trip with son, not daughter. I always was curious why he was involved in two films that seemed very similar. But now it's not on imdb. Anyone know what happened or am I crazy?

    Go Michael Douglas!

    by spandau belly

If twice as many people see this as The Sentinel then there will be four people in the cinema! Maybe a double date!
