The UK HOT FUZZ teaser poster has been released!!!

Published at:  Nov 20, 2006 12:41:59 PM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with another nugget for you folks eagerly awaiting Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's follow-up to SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ. This is the teaser one-sheet going up in cinemas all over the UK, apparantly. I can't help but notice it's more of a traditional US poster size, so maybe this is the poster we'll see up over here sooner or later. The image itself is a retooling of one of the wallpapers from the official site, but I love the stark whites and silver. It looks like a poster of an action film that's taking itself just a little too seriously. Can't wait! Congrats to Imp Awards for scoring the poster.

Not all European posters are Quad sized, Quint. 'Traditional US size', what does that even mean? Europeans don't know normal poster sizes? *sigh*

I expected no less than greatness from this poster

    by harry weinstein

And I got that what I was looking for. Imagine that - an ad campaign that ACTUALLY MAKES PEOPLE WANT TO SEE THE MOVIE. It's a innovative and novel concept and Universal/Rogue would be wise to try it in the States. The ad campaign that makes you say "who the fuck thought this was appealing to anyone?" has gotten tired and played out. The last straw was the pathetic poster for FEARLESS that looked a design for a Wheaties cereal box depicting Jet Li taking a shit in midair.

    by charlie & tex

It's going to be a long slog until February rolls around, but Messrs Wright and Pegg have something worth waiting for. The script is fried gold, the movie is looking great so both action & comedy fans will get a blast when the cold weather hits. Keep an eye out for the looking the weirdest-looking guys in the movie, that's us. To the previous post - yeah, it would be nice if the boys were going to the Winchester, but with it in the process of being condemned/pulled-down, the place where we met our demises at the end of Shaun (via a golf-club by Jessica Stevenson) is only kept alive by the miracle of celluloid. It's going to be a blast - both automatic and semi-automatic.

    by charlie & tex

Fraid not. We were in Shaun of the Dead and are happy to announce that we are back for another round of Wright/Pegg-fuelled goodness. Is it too late for Edgar to enlist the Die Hard tagline on the trailers in that it "will blow you out the back wall of the theatre?", as Hot Fuzz is going to do just that, but minus any suspect German accents. It'll kick the laughs out of you like a midnight visit in the cells this February.

    British cops Q&A

    by martin jim fox

    Guys,

don't get your US knickers in a twist. As a UK cop, we don't all carry guns! Only specially selected AFOs (armed firearms officers) do. Various motorway road policing units etc. Also there are 43 individual forces in the UK, mine being in the South West of England. The poster is cool and meant to be ironic and I can't wait to see the film :)
