Holy Smokes! A Pre-Trailer in progress of SPIDER-MAN 3 with VENOM FOOTAGE is now gone!!!
Harry here... I love this trailer. Incomplete effects, green screen stage work, storyboards... you get the idea of just how much goes into making a trailer... and at the end... VENOM - clear as day... behold and scream in glee!
It isn't often that I get calls on Sunday afternoons, but guess what? I got a whole host of calls from SONY folks asking to have this trailer removed. PERSONALLY - I think it's a GIGANTIC mistake on their part. As you can see from the response in the talk back below - this is the HUGE POSITIVE response that the trailer that they did release, didn't get. I suppose they want to hold off till later to reveal VENOM... but the fans of SPIDER-MAN and VENOM have been dying to see this footage - and it got out there. Accept it. Let it spread virally. Because Sony? Marvel? It's out. All anybody has to do is search for "Spider-Man" or "Venom" on multiple different video hosting sites. Hell - below in the talkback is a link to a really great MOV file of just the VENOM footage... and I'm willing to bet on message boards all over the net, you'll see others doing the same. Let this leak, leak. For one - it shows the amazing work that's going into this film and gives fans exactly what they want, but not too much of it. Anyway - Spider-fans... the truth is out there... go get it!

Ok, very nice Venom jaws at the end there. Maybe now we'll hear less whining. And anyone who actually complains about the look of the CGI in a trailer for a movie that's not finished needs to look at this trailer and go "Ohhh.. they do these things one stage at a time. Maybe, just maybe, that other trailer's effects weren't quite complete either." There's an educational component in watching unfinished trailers like this...

I loved it. And I haven't even watched Spider-Man 1 or 2. But I think I want to watch this. Is that how Venom looks like? What gives him the power to change? Also, there's a shot of someone falling and Spider-Man following, at like I think 1:52, is that Gwen Stacy? Is that how he meets her? ... And is James Franco, he knows Peter is Spider-Man? Why doesn't he tell people? Anyway, great trailer. I can't wait to see the finished product. Although, why are hey coming up with another one? The other was really good. I'm not complaining!

All the carping about Venom not being in the trailer may have prompted Sony to put this out as a 'leak' - they'll probably withdraw it in an hour or two but it'll be enough to keep people talking until the next trailer...or indeed the completed version of this one.

The main thing is... Raimi may well know how predictable the whole thing is and he is just out to make a damn good movie. Afterall Spider-man's history is already done in the comics and we virtually know whats going to happen.
All Raimi has to do is change bits here and there... So the trailer giving up major plots and structure doesn't matter... If Spider-man was laying a Spider-turd.. We'd still go and see it. -

The Comic-Con one showed transformation shots of Topher, but not a final image of Venom. Also the church scene was slightly longer in the CC one, and took place in the beginning. Less Sandman as well. This is a different trailer. Cool though. I personally like the effects shown off in both trailers. To me they look better than Spidey 2, and lightyears ahead of Spidey 1.

This was great. I'm assuming this will run during the Super Bowl? Even as a work-in-progress, it was better than the trailer they just recently released.

He's "battle damaged" with some sort of black thread wrapped around his neck.
Answer me this, does Spidey take the blows during his fight with Sandman or the Goblin? Not by the looks of these trailers because he's all in black when he fights them.
The Way I see it, Peter is worshiped by the people of New York, is set to marry MJ but finds out Ben may have been murdered by Flint so he goes a bit moody. The black costume takes advantage of his weakness and takes him over, he flushes his life down the crapper by dealing with Sandy, just in time for Harry to get his kicks in.
Putting the two criminals down so harshly and neglecting MJ causes Peter to rethink things and ditch the black duds, going back to the red and blue.
Except Brock is taken over now. Cue the climactic battle which we've seen a few brief shots of, Venom will fight Spidey and end the movie on a devastating cliff hanger, probably the death of not one, but two major characters.
Just a guess -
I highly doubt Brock turns into Venom in the last five minutes before the credits, because the cathedral scene wouldn't exactly make a huge climax for the movie. More likely, Peter rips off the symbiote at the end of the second act, then has to defeat Sandman and Venom in the blue-and-red costume without any of his black suit powers. Venom will probably feature in one major action scene and then be left alive for future installments. Structurally, I don't see any way to bring him in earlier without rushing the black suit storyline.

It's pretty clear that Venom and Spidey fight at the end. Spidey is shown in his red and blues, surrounded by black webbing. Duh. Also, he never fights Sandman and Harry together. He fights Harry halfway through the movie, and later enlists Harry to help him put down Sandman and Venom. Just remember, I toldja so.

I only ever enjoyed the movies in the theater. Their continued enjoyment on DVD is negligible. But I would still see this flick no matter what - it's got Venom! -
The Comic-Con trailer started out with Topher asking that Parker be killed. Then it was more of a mature, slow-burn, trailer. And then, of course, it led into the Bell Tower scene with Peter trying to take the suit off, the suit dripping down onto Brock, and him falling down, becoming Venom, and the whole "flying into the mouth" shot.

And I have liked all of the trailers for them so far. But the weakest one has to be the one that is going on Casino Royale. This trailer, however, is one of the best. If Sony likes money, they should have finished this one up in time for Casino Royale.

That Sony will live to regret. If the trailer wasnt read than they shouldd nor have released. The reaction was mixed anyhow. those who liked it liked it. those who didnt didnt. The third one will be the definitive trailer and by then they should have all the problems fixed. but I seem to remember, that with the last two movies they did release test footage. to give us a flavour of what the wall crawling scenes were going to be like. and so on.....

What about THAT doesn't make sense? Yes, most of us see the black webbing, most of us read that Venom would be in the last act/fight of the movie and then be killed off too. We'd actually prefer if he wasn't used if that's all we'd get from him. Not only is Venom potentially underused, but so too are Sandman and Harry as the Green Goblin if they are just partial players in the movie. This is a very real possibility, and hence the tendency to hope for more. If Venom is in the last ten minutes AND set up for the next movie, then great. I'm betting we'll hear a lot of backlashing about how people don't want another symbiote-centered movie after this one though, so we may just neve get the Predator style tension that could come from Venom in a whole movie.

Most everyone is saying he will be relegated to an end of the film cameo, but I say what the fuck do any of you know? I say he has more screen time than any of those motherfucking naysayers have said. Remember - Raimi knows the character of Spider-Man, and has two well-done feature films under his directorial belt. He also has an uncharacteristic genuine affection for the fans. I am positive he knows they want to see Venom fully realized on the screen, post haste. I do not beleive, even on that basis alone, that he will mother fuck us with a 5 minute armored Vader Sith deal.

There is nothing sneaky or stealthy about Venom. He is in-you-face ferocity. Sure, he can camoflage the suit once in a while, to add an extra panel or two to a comic, but every issue with Venom follows the same formula:
Venom gets loose
Venom taunts Peter or his loved ones
Venom beats the tar out of Spidey
Spidey uses wits/friends to beat Venom
Venom is one of the most unique villains. He is the first villain in comics to exist SOLELY to kill the hero. Most villains have a fiendish plot that the hero just happens to show up and ruin, whereas with Venom, his whole reason for existance is killing Spidey. That's what makes Venom unique. Until they butchered him in the late 90's, he was easily Spidey's most fearsome foe. -

But that's a just-pre-credits shot if I ever saw one. What that does mean, however, is that this will be like the second LOTR movie, where EVERYTHING looks damned. I didn't want to, but now I almost totally buy Venom not being in the movie.
On the plus side, I was able to pause it at the very end. For the fraction of a second that he's in there, Venom looks like just about everything we'd ever hoped for. Hahaha, I remember a few weeks ago when I thought he wouldn't have a jaw. -
Simply fantastic. I also thought the Spidy III trailor looks great. Always enjoyed the Spidy flicks, but was/am dissapointed with his ability to stop friggin TRAINS-for god sakes, hes not the Hulk! At least, the spidy I grew up on was not-he was agile and strong but not 'stop a train' strong like in II and he was also kinda fragil so he had to be whip smart and fast, not brute strong like some of the stuff Raimi has attributed to him. Minor quips though. I still liked em all. Hope Raimi gets back into EVIL DEAD type of directing and camera work. Venom surely calls for that old manic energy his early films displayed-just on the edge of being out of control.

venom was a good idea in the comics initially and then they ruined him...for this film they are going to have to throw away his entire comics origin...secret wars anyone?...why bother calling him venom? this is strictly a move to appease fanboys of the venom era...i'll wait to see the film before passing judgement, but i have a bad feeling about this one...3 villians?, upturning ben parker's death from the comics and films?, the gwen/mj mess? smells like batman and robin so far...i hope they don't ruin this one with too many storylines/characters

I honestly hope Venom appears at the end as a setup for a film entirely devoted to Venom as the villain. I'd rather not split my attention between Harry/Green Goblin, Sandman, and Venom. If Spidey kicks Sandman's ass using the black suit, and we get a Venom cliffhanger at the end, that's fine with me. I think the black webbing coming out of Peter's head and MJ being caught in black webbing are both part of a symbiote-induced dream sequence.

The organic webshooters were the single greatest improvement upon Spider-Man since he first appeared. I mean, the comic's spiderman can't even spin a web, a spider's most popular attribute.
But yeah, they should blow up a still from that last shot of Venom and make it into a poster, because it's the only shot of Venom I think we're going to see in this movie. -

You know, it really is grossly unrealistic and just plain ridiculous in concept that a kid who gets bit by a spider and gets spider powers co-incidentally in the span of a couple of days is able to develop some kind of webbing-like space age polymer. ESPECIALLY when it's completely reasonable that the radioactive spiderbite gave him the webbing ability. I mean we're already taking it on faith that a spiderbite can somehow give someone all these other features of a spider, why not this one?

Geezuss.. this guy reaaaallly like shouting at peopel and telling them how stupid they are... Must be a Rent-a-cop who hasn't had sex in a while... Geeezuss... Why do they continue to kill all the villains in these fu**ing Spiderman movies? If they continue this Spidey will be fighting the freaking "Postal-Worker-Guy"! Hope they don't kill the Sandman, or Venom in this one. Make them get sent to the Vault for crying out loud... Image this... Last shot of the movie, we see a cell with Venom freaking out while being sedated, pan out, we go backwards thru the steel door, we see other cells, we see something that resembles a lighting bolt hitting the side of a 6inch sealed window the walls are darken by bolts being shot at them, in front of this cell we see the Sandman crouched down leaning fowards on the window, paning out still, and they could show a couple of other villains (except Doc Oc since, yes, they killed him too!)... This could be great and even if didn't see them be created, at least we would know that they're alive and ready to be leached out for one of the next movie, all this without the need to show how all of them were created all the time, a simple "dream sequence" could do this and save up 25 minutes of film. I just hope they stop killing all of them..

I think I know what happens at the end but I won't spoil it, except to say that I suspect Venom's reign of terror will be limited to this film. *** Sandman... mmmmmight get killed. I'm basing this on nothing but the trailer, but the way it looked like the water was washing him away and he was reaching out for help... maybe Peter accidentally gets him killed due to his symbiote-induced rage, which is what finally motivates him to get rid of the thing. Maybe not though. It looks like he gets pushy with MJ and puts Harry in the hospital, which are both equally good reasons for wanting to shed the symbiote. *** As for Doc Ock, I'd say he's as dead as they come. What would the point of him being alive be anyway? It's not like he's "evil;" he's not gonna be joining the Sinister Six anytime soon. Otherwise you'd have to do some seeerious retconning.

As much as I hate to side with the repeatedly offensive poster, Venom will not appear solely as a final shot tease for Spider-Man 4. Deal. He'll only be in it for a final showdown, but he, or 'they', are not a cliffhanger. You do not make an official villain announcement, talk about him at Comic-Con, talk about the costume and make-up, all for a 10 second appearance at the end of the film. It would be like Warners announcing the inclusion of The Joker in Batman Begins. So please, please stop all this "set-up for Spider-man 4" rubbish.

Maybe you're right, but I would think if Venom played a significant role in the movie, they would not leave him out of the trailer. Even if his appearance is intended as a surprise in the film, the folks marketing movies and making trailers are perfectly willing to allow a plot surprise to appear in the trailer. Keeping Venom out of it would be a bad idea if his inclusion in the film was something fans would be jazzed about. I guess we'll find out in six months. Dammit! Six months? Damn early trailers.

I would rather have Venom be the villain in the hypoethical fourth movie than be the fifteen-minute dead-man-walking villian in this one. He doesn't deserve to be killed-off in a single fight.
An observation: Peter Parker has super powers without violent intentions; Eddie Brock is a weak man with violent intentions. And the Venom reacts differently to both.
Another observation: It seems that -- in the movie, anyway -- the Venom not only acts as a costume covering and concealing Brock, but the two actually blend into a single creature, as seen by Venom's now having not only a mouth, but a throat where Brock's head used to be. I'm not very familiar with the way that that works in the comics. Can he still transform back into Brock? -
I don't care if Venom is involved in the climactic show-down, which has apparently already been established... I just think that shot of Venom has "The End" written all over it. And you know what? That's fine. It doesn't make me or the other talkbackers here "retards" or "fucktards" -- It'd be a great way to end the movie, leaving everyone with two-to-three years to speculate about the next part. It kinda makes me think of the ending to Batman Returns, where the supposedly dead Catwoman reared her lovely head... a cool, upbeat, open ending.

Venom will be a ferocious villain for sure, but I would love to see the Lizard onscreen. I thought after the setup in Spidey 2 that's where this one was going, but it's not. I would like to see Rhino as well, and Raimi's version of Kraven, who I always thought was an underrated character. The Rhino in particular has great onscreen potential, and it would showcase Spidey's talent for outsmarting villains that are stronger than him.

Because I want to get the damn stupid "evil Spider-Man" plot over with so the younger fans will finally shut the fuck up and let us older fans who have been reading Spider-Man since the 70s (or even 60s) can have the REAL villains, instead of this lame-ass ALIENS clone. EVERYTHING having to do with that symbiote, from the end of the Secret Wars to all the Venom-kin, is poor writing that caters to the lowest common denominator. Evil Twin Villain formula: Change the good guy's look to black, give the guy freakish features, and make him have some mental problem (multiple personalities is usually the case) and then make him an exact match for the hero, right down to individual powers. Add in some murder and mayhem, and fanboys suck it up. If you like this, you must love the "evil" Superman in Superman III. [p]

I'm in my late 30s. I do believe I've read nearly every Spider-Man comic, save for a huge chunk of the clone saga (SUCKED) and several stops in the McFarlane era and the Venom storylines. The original Venom was still "eat your brains" stupid, but back then they focused more (and constantly) on the "He's got all my powers, but he's more powerful than me, and he knows who I am. Oh WOE IS ME." angle. He is SO VERY MUCH the "dark Spider-Man" evil twin, and I don't know how most people can't see how lazy the writing for Venom really is. [p]
Hobgoblin was OK. Not as interesting as Norman by any means. Jack O'Lantern was always a joke, even when he kept switching identities. [p]
And if you think Kraven would be boring on screen, I don't know how you think a cheap rip-off of an ALIENS xenomorph is going to be interesting. Kraven has a personality. All Venom has is that "WE HATE SPIDER MAN!" thing. He hasn't even got a decent motivation for his hatred- Just rejection and being a general loser. At least Kraven had a point to his hunting Spider-Man. Venom's more like a scorned lover than a major villain, the way he behaves. [p]
Jeez. The recent "Feral" storyline would be better than anything with Venom in it. They finally realized Venom was a one-trick pony in the comics, and pretty much axed him (unless you count the Scorpion/Gargan version as being anything significant). [p]
Ha! They could use the Fabulous Frog-Boy, Ringer, Spot, or Kangaroo and STILL turn out a more interesting story than anything featuring slobber-puss.

Connors has been in both SM movies, but had a larger role in the second. So his appearance in it wasn't a teaser for a forthcoming villain; he's always been one of the characters, and perhaps always will be.
Personally, I never found the Lizard to be an interesting or even realistic character. Conners is best suited to remain Parker's chemistry professor, in my opinion. -
Have him in two or three movies, then when he does turn it brings alot more emotional depth. The Lizard is a very tragic character, he would be a great addition to these movies.

Before I start, please don't attack; I am attempting to ask a poorly structured yet serious question. Let it be known that I really enjoyed Spider-Man 2099. Clearly I was part of a very small minority. Regardless, when I saw the first Spider-Man film, I was under the belief that the "organic web shooters" and "finger claws" were ripped off and/or inspired by Spider-Man 2099. I know these two characteristics exist in said comic. Miguel's got 'em. I personally thought it was brilliant and never really liked the webshooters with cartridges. Whatever. Everyone has an opinion. Did anyone else draw this Spider-Man 2099 conclusion or am I the new word of the day - a fucktard? Thanks to all who reply to my query.
For the record, I liked the first two films and I would be very surprised if they botched the third one. I'll be there at midnight with the wife with mildly high hopes. Let's see is this cacophony of storylines SFX riddled action fest works. -

It would be a nice little twist if this is how they set up the Eddie Brock storyline. Because Spider-Man was at the window where the thief fell from in the first movie, what if Brock writes the story “Spidey ‘kills’ the wrong guy,” alleging falsely that Marko was actually the culprit. Peter finds out through Spidey’s fights with Sandman that, although Sandman had something to do with the murder, Brock is wrong. Parker exposes Brock as a fraud, and that’s what leads Brock to the desperate man seen in the church. Just a thought.

Yep, they should have finished this one and made it the trailer, as it captures the spirit of bad Spidey/Venom that everyone has been chewing their nails about - but I have a feeling we will be seeing it as such when the movie is closer to launch. Really, though, for you kids that didn't see it - it is excellent. They broach the idea of Marko as Ben's killer a little more smoothly, Parker's psychological change is hinted at more strongly, and yeah - Venom is saved for the tail end of the trailer, but it's just right (enough, but not too much). We'll be seeing more of him, though, when the toys hit the shelves about 2-3 weeks before the movie releases...

Darwyn... take another look at that shot and you'll notice it's an extreme CLOSE-UP of Peter's eye looking at those claws... and with the claws being even closer to the camera than Peter's face, that would mean that those are some pretty TINY claws... even if they were just the TIPS of Wolverine's claws, we can clearly see that the claws are only about a half inch apart from each other, and I don't think Wolverine could pull that off... unless... maybe the 4TH VILLAIN in SPIDER-MAN 3 is Rick Moranis from HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS!

It's when he says "You knew this day was coming, Pete." And hey, how does Spidey get into a moving bank truck without Sandy noticing, when the back door is still closed and sealed? The only explanation can be that Spidey tears his way through the roof while Sandman is distracted with taking out the truck driver / guards in "sand" form. Yea, that def wasn't Wolverine, it was Harry. Logan's presence in the movie would just complicate an already packed storyline. Besides, there is no way Fox would let Colombia use Wolverines unless they got some of the action ($$$).
There will be a fight at the end of 3 involving SM, V, and Harry. Sandman is long gone, beaten by water (thanks to the spoiler in the trailer). Since it has already been said that Gwen doesn't die in this one, 3 will end in a cliffhanger either during or after the fight. If Gwen does die, I hope it's Harry who does it and not Venom. That would be too similar to the Ultimate Spiderman storyline where Carnage kills Gwen (which I thought was pretty lame). Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling that Brock will be tied into the Gwen storyline. He’s either in love with her or MJ. Brock has always been jealous of Peter, that’s why Venom hates him so much.

I always thought it would be really cool if they started the movie with Spiderman preventing a lesser known super-villain from committing a crime, like stopping Shocker or Rhino from robbing a bank. I’m pretty sure these characters will never be a main villain, but it would be cool to see them nonetheless.

I think Harry sets up Sandman at the beginning and for the first half spidey fights Sandman and Harry. He gains the black suit and almost kills both of them while at the same time pissing off Brock. Then half way through he looses the suit creating Venom and making a huge ending battle scene. If you think about it they are setting things up pretty well and Sandman is a good choice in the role. He's a perfect half way bad guy he's not a main villian like Venom or Doc Ock or a goblin. He's not a low grade bad guy like Rhino or Shocker so he's perfect as the element he is in the movie.

It feels good not to bash a movie or have to. With that said this what I believe will happend. someone thinks that spidey will take out Harry and have to fight SM and Venom at the same time. I think spidey will fight the sandman first in the old Red and Blue First get his ass handed to him and then get the Symbiote suit, where he will proceed to hallucinate that SM killed dear old uncle ben and proceed to layeth the Smacketh Down and make the Sandman Take a Dirt nap. Now there seems to be this overlying theme of "asking for help" so at some point I think harry and spidey are going to team up on venom or maybe Spidey will some surprise help against the Two of them; say from Fox studios, anything can happen. I love having fun specualting about the wonderful possibilties of a actualy good movie. Now back to the hating. Get me some fresh Transformer news ARRRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Could somebody please explain this to me? Especially someone who understands "The Biz", such as Harry, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see movie trailers as "commercials". As in "an advertisement for a product". Isn't an advertisement supposed to get people to BUY the product? (or, in this case, buy a ticket...or two...and eventually the DVDs?) If so, then why do studios get so FREAKED OUT when a commercial for their product gets shown all over God's creation (ie: the internet)? They treat people who show movie trailers freely to millions of viewers with the same contempt they treat people who distribute pirated movies on sites like Kazaa! I'm especially bewildered by this attitude after footage like this is leaked. Ok, I can understand maybe wanted to keep certain things a surprise....but the footage IS NOW OUT THERE! They cannot, to steal a geek-quote, "stop the signal"! Even trying to do so merely brings contempt upon an industry already increasingly desperate for business. Is it any wonder people are going to the theater less and less these days?

The studio cannot bring down every site that is showing this trailer. It's impossible. Even with fools posting links on this site for Sony to read about so they can sic their attack-lawyers on. I'm all for the abolition of movie trailers. God knows I have way too many of them cluttering up the beginnings of various DVDs I've paid good money for (and am then forced to burn a "preview-free" copy of to watch). But my point still stands: The footage is out there! It was RELEASED and AUTHORIZED by Sony for ComicCon. Trying to stop it from being distributed is like trying to stop drug traffic (ie: their efforts will not keep it from getting to people who WANT it)

I would agree that this scene probably wouldn't be the climax of the movie. The only trouble is, I have seen MANY instances in which movie trailers give away the ending of the film, if not the entire story. Because of this past trend, I'm not so inclined to believe that Sony wouldn't put their big climax in the trailer. They've done it before, so why wouldn't they do it again?

As far as the belltower scene is concerned, i don't see how they could put it anywhere but the end, considering the amount of material (getting the black suit, developing Sandman and Harry Osborne, developing relationship between Parker and Brock) that needs to be covered up to that point. -

I said the same thing. and shows Bays has no faith in his own abilities as a film maker. Raimi has shown that he values our opinion but knows how to make the film he's going to make. Bay on the other hand; knows little to nothing about TF's. and probably Used to pick on the kids who played with them, he was roughly 17-22 when Transformers were at there peak and probably was never interested. Also In every movie he's participated in the actors have done a wonderful job of playing themselves, Bruce Willis did the Wrong place wrong time thing for the 33rd time, Smith, and lawrence, just played themselves and Honestly I believe none of there lines were scripted, and if they were then shame on Bay. But now he's charged with creating characters the way they talk, walk. He basically has to created a actor and there's the scariest thing he's ever produced since Jessica Biels Meat puppets.

My other view on the TF leaks is that it really the work ole D2C's and he really does not like the direction this movie is going and is trying to corrupt it as much as possible by attacking all the fans and posting all the pics and concept art he can. By making himself a pariah he's driving us away from this movie maybe its all and act. No producer will say there movie sucks but by takig the actions he has taken this is his way of really saying "This is not the vision I had and I will destroy it 'no matter the cost'". If so then D2C's (and BBCB knows who I'm talking to and so does D2C's) I apolgize for any hard feeling between us and I hope you are successful with you plan of studio betrayel and I will aid you with any plan you hatch to bring down the man.

It's funny that you would say that because I was just discussing this with a friend earlier today. Don't know if anyone's noticed but IGN reported a few days ago that Bruce Campbell's rumored cameo in this film is none other than Mysterio (a role which screams BC in my opinion) and we were talking about how awesome it would be to open the movie with Mysterio planning some devious crime and Spider-Man busting in and foiling him. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that I think that's how it's going to play out. You heard it here first, Mysterio in the first five minutes or bust.
And on a final note, I have this crazy feeling about Sony so desperately trying to get rid of any Venom shots like this...what if they're planning to attach it to the trailer in theaters when it's released with Bond? How fucking cool would that be? I'm not getting my hopes up, but if that's the case.....yay. Also anyone else notice in the new trailer the TERRIBLE music cut a couple seconds before it transitions to him and MJ on the web? Disgusting. I loved the trailer despite lack of Venom but that is not how you cut music. -

And really, Sony, Sandman, okay, cool, we saw him in the teaser, you say there's a second villian, well, let's see it. how much ground the first Spidey movie was able to cover in 2 hours. It starts out with him being normal and ends with him accepting his role as Spider-man, having defeated his first super villain and becoming a public nuisance/hero. The movie covers six months and introduces all the major characters. I don't think this one will be any different. There's plenty of time to set up the symbiote story, deteriorate the Parker/Brock relationship and have Venom in the last half hour or so. I'm thinking the second act will end with Peter shedding the suit so the third act can revolve around Venom. I also like the idea someone suggested about Spidey opening the movie with a fight with a Super villain. Start the movie at the end of a story, Raiders of the Lost Ark style, and give everyone a kickass opening. I would looooove to see the opening credits get disrupted by a super villain in action, only to see Spidey swing in and beat on him for a few minutes.

and What it actually contained was clips of the film interspersed with clips of spiderman done in very basic computer graphic mode. The clips of the movies have propert of columbia pictures and graphics of spider look like they came from the effects house. I dont know who leaked the trailer. They will have to do a major re-shoot for the thirs trailer. It was supposed to go online last thursday but that was when they discovered the theft. They put a trailer. CBR said the leaked trailer was unready and so therefore Sony rejected, which must have pissed somebody off.

I thought it was a decent comic. Interesting. Back to Brock. He's mentioned in Spidey 1 when JJJ hires Peter for his Spidey pictures. You hear JJJ's assistant (Not Robbie. The chick whose name I forgot) say "Eddie Brock is not going to be happy about this." Or something to that effect.
Brock hates Peter already. He ruined his career. Maybe in 3, he will ruin it even more by accident. Like someone said on top. Maybe Brock says Sandman is responsible for Ben's death and Spidey realizes that is not the case. And he fights the urge to kill Sandman, runs to the church and gets rid of the costume. -
Raimi only agreed to put Venom in the movie to please the fans, as Avi Arad asked him to.
Having a 5 second ending with Venom would not please the fans. Watch the trailer, see the black webbing around red Spidey's neck, and understand that of this moment in time, there is no certainty of a Spider-Man 4. 3 is at this point the last Spider-Man film in production. Directors only have cliffhanger endings on movies with definate sequels. Like Empire/Jedi, POTC 2/3, hell, even Spider-Man 2/3 with Haryy discovering the goblin lair. You do not add a cliffhanger unless you are already set to make the next installment. Get over it. -

Anybody consider that the filmmakers are playing Venom down... probably teasing him as a cliffhanger image in the last minutes of the flick. This seems to be Spidey, Sandman and Osborne's story, with all his loved ones on the sideline, including Brock. Why lead anybody on into incorrectly thinking that Venom has any screen time? That said... that image of Venom is choice.

Yes, I think so. But defeat doesn't mean killed. He may be simply beaten and escapes, or captured. But the current Venom story will likely be closed in this film, ie he is stopped from kidnapping MJ or whatever. Doesn't mean he won't reappear in future movies. If any are made. I'm just stressing the unlikelyhood of this supposed 'cliffhanger'.

I disagree with the presumption that Venom will be size-enhanced via CGI to make him look stronger. It makes perfect sense to me that Venom could be a scrawny string-bean. Peter Parker just grew a six-pack when he became hundreds of times stronger than the strongest body-builder; why should Eddie Brock be any different? Besides, a skinnier Venom is visually scarrier than a buff Venom, especially if he's constantly crawling on all fours with that reptoid head of his bent upward like that. A buff physique might appear more masculine and super-villain-ish, but Venom isn't a super villain; Venom is angry photographer covered in sentient, violent, vengeful alien goo.

Most interesting will be to see how they can fit Venom, Sandman, Green Goblin 2, Gwen Stacy, what looks like a potential marriage plot, Eddie Brock's anger, etc. into a single movie.

Raimi has mentioned that the symbiote will be of extraterrestrial origins. My guess is they'll use the shuttle crash from the series or something similar, maybe a meteorite, which Spider-Man helps avert, hence the people cheering Spider-Man's name and the kids wearing the costumes.

As for the origins of Venom, I really, REALLY hope it's the shuttle crash cause that would be awesome beyond reason, I keep having visions of the plane scene in Superman Returns but even bigger and better...but that's the very reason why I think it's unlikely. A shot that huge, something about it would've gotten out by now. Unless it was done all or mostly in studio, but I don't see how they could recreate such an incredible scene without having to take over a bridge and that just seems like news that would've gotten out by now to me. On the other hand, since they're being so secretive about so many things involving Venom, I can also see them completely, hiding any details about his origin until the movie comes out. Especially when you consider that in every big trailer so far, every villain's origin has been touched on except for Venom's now..so here's to hoping for the shuttle crash.

I guess sony are firefighting like mad so it may be taken down swiftly. People are going crazy for this but I think the test footage looks a little ropey and venom far to glossy (also i'd be cool if he got the eyes of the current venom). I hope someone smart has put the finished shots at the top of the priority list for s3 and we see the official cut of this trailer soon. -
The powers that be know Parker is Spidey and use him to take down Sandman who's existence is a threat to something underhand on their part. Regular Spidey can't defeat Sandman and Hobgoblin, however Blacksuit Spidey does. Somehow Spidey does something as Blacksuit that makes him question what he has become and I suspect Hobgoblin has a change of heart late in act 3 that effects Parkers final intention to rid himself of blacksuit.
Roll in Cathederal Scene wher Venom is created, and soon after he and Spidey go at it, Venom kicks his ass, Hobgoblin intervenes to save parker and perhaps bites the dust himself, Venom flee's wounded Parker is almost dead, film ends with him in the ER. -
I hope you're joking. The terrible grammar and internet-speak are too pronounced for you not to be. However, JUST IN CASE you aren't- those are NOT Wolverine's claws. They are shaped differently and proportionately too small to be his claws. Wolvie isn't the first or last character in history (or even the Marvel universe) to have three similar metal looking claws like that... Watch some Bruce Lee movies or play Street Fighter. It's not Wolverine.

So...being an old-school Spidey-Fan, I'm a little distressed that there's mention of Harry Osborn as Hobgoblin and not the Green Goblin. Also, in all the trailers I've seen, Harry is swooping around on a glider etc, but is mask-less and wearing what looks to be a black leather jacket!!!?

...show Harry using a black version of the glider, black clothing, and a black mouth-mask with some green trim. So he's kinda like GG2, kinda like Hobby, but sorta neither. I think Raimi is playing it like it would come to pass in real life. Harry found his dad's gear, so he's gonna use it, but not adopt the silly Goblin personna. As far as we know, Harry isn't crazy, just kind of an alcoholic. Of course, he'll probably drink some of that wacky green formula, because I don't think he'd dare attack Peter with the strength of a mere mortal. But yeah, it's just black clothing and gear. It's neither GG or HG per se.
