    Bout time.

    by Childe Roland

I dunno. Seems to me I recall images and posters and trailers being all over this site for the previous two installments well in advance of the timeframe we're seeing this time out. Did someone here piss off Sony?

Hopefully it's more or less the trailer they showed at Comic-Con, that thing rocked from what I could tell on YouTube!

    Too much Venom?

    by chopstyx1

I was kind of hoping they'd concentrate on Sandman & Green Goblin II and just have the black suit in this one, setting us up nicely for Venom in the fourth film. I hope Spidey spends most of the film in the black suit though.

    To BringingSexyBack...

    by KabutoKoji

That stupid Goblin Skater kid, as you call it, will not be fixed. Watch the trailer that's already available. You can clearly see a shot of Harry crashing into a wall of a building dressed in that shity outfit, and riding that damn snowboard. It must be clear by now to everyone, that Raimi hates the Goblin, everything having to do with him, and every incarnation. The Green Goblin in Spider-Man 1 was horrible and now this. They said he never wanted to use Venom because he didn't like the character, but it's the Goblin he truly hates. With a passion. You truly have to admire hate of that kind. Oh, and nofate, I don't know where you saw it or read it, but yes, Aunt May does end up as Carnage somehow. I made a bet with someone on this Talkback a couple of months ago. We bet a quarter Aunt May will turn into Carnage in Spider-Man 3. I said it would happen, he said it wouldn't. I forgot who it was. If you're out there, can you answer this talkback?...just want to re-connect, my friend. Peace. Oh, and yeah, that's 1..2..3..4 villians. Enjoy it tommorrow. And patience, summer draws nearer with every passing second...And with that, the rest is silence...

If Aunt May turns into Carnage

    by SithMenace

That's almost as lame as Harry's costume. I would hope they introduce Cassidy at some point in this movie.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 12:08 a.m. CST

Hope I remember to catch it on TV...

    by Johnno

But I'd rather wait till it's quicktimed... fuck MTV's site. And Aunt May as carnage? Well if that's true it's probably only for a short while that the symbiote controls her until it finds Cassidy to become 'Maximum' Carnage.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 12:21 a.m. CST

Aunt May turns into Carnage?? WTF??

    by Freefinger

No fu**ing way... Gezuss did they get the Almond Twins from Superman Returns to come up with a script for this? You gotta be shitting us on this ... I don't, won't believe it... Can't be... by SithMenace

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 2:04 a.m. CST

    because of common sense.

    by tibbar

because of common sense. this is sam raimi, not joel shumacher. PS: for anyone who isnt a dipshit: the suit brings out latent feelings in an individual and distorts them for its own purposes. so you mean to tell me that sweet ol aunt may is in reality, inside her deepest recesses, a MORE evil or dark individual than spidey or venom? whoever started this rumor either wanted a good laugh or is a moron, as well as anyone who propells it or believes it. good day. COMMON FUCKING SENSE learn it

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 2:21 a.m. CST

    Theory on the 4th villain

    by bender7

From what I heard, the fourth villain is Spiderman himself. Finding the darkness inside. Im pretty hyped about this one, for seeing Venom on the big screen if nothing else. My only worry is if too much story is packed into one movie. It felt a bit like than in the second movie. Still lots to look forward to

    The 4th Villian is....

    by Pawprint

Michael Bay... no, not really; I can't back that up. From what I have read in Empire, Bruce Campbell has been signed to play someone called Quentin Beck or summat, who apparently is some some sort of gay illusionist/magician supervillain going by the camp 60's name of 'Mysterio'... I think I'd rather see the undead Uncle Ben...

    Thank you, LittleDudes

    by Franklin T Marmoset

I had missed those images before. It was good to see them.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 3:22 a.m. CST

    no Venom

    by amievil

yup....there is absolutely no Venom at all in the trailer...but you do see Harry in his "suit", lots of Sandman, lots of Spidey in the black suit, and Eddie Brock.... i could write a more detailed report but i figure this little synopsis won't get me fired....

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 4:05 a.m. CST

Well I must say that Harry's costume is utter shit...

    by PurityOfEssence

I don't have a problem with not following "the Comics." But the paintball mask and what is essentially a flying snow board is just discraceful. With the budget that this thing has you think they could have done better than what they came up with.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 4:15 a.m. CST

    No Venom in trailer

    by SithMenace

I assume that's because Venom won't be a major part of the story. I heard all the rumors about the 4 way fight at the end of the movie, but I have a feeling there won't be much Venom at all. In fact, I think he may just be a setup for the fourth film. Of course, I could be totally wrong about this. I just think that the major arc of the film is Peter in the black costume, so when that story is over, the movie is over. Venom obviously doesn't show until Peter ditches the symbiote, and I think that'll be close to the end, like with Harry at the end of the second film.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 4:50 a.m. CST

    common sense...

    by KabutoKoji

Listen tibbar, it's clear you are late to the party, but are the type who still want to tell the story of how someone pissed in the punch bowl when you hadn't still arrived and weren't there to witness it. It's too long and I'm not going to go there and explain it again and now, but some people who were around months ago, know about the ways the Carnage thing leaked first and then was pulled out, etc. Some went to considerable lenghts to make some sense out of it and the thing kept getting more interesting by the second. Little sweet Aunt May? Maybe, but go back and watch Spider-Man 2, and the scene where Peter tells her he's really responsible for Uncle Ben's death. Watch her face, and her reaction. Then watch her walk away in despair. Not so sweet there, is she? She's holding some thing powerful pertaining to that. Also, it has to do with a brand new flashback concerning Un cle Ben(and Cliff Robertson's new cameo)in Spider-Man 3. Again, I'm not getting into it. How's your common sense regarding organic webshooters and Harry not being the Hobgoblin, or GG2, just some guy using something from his father he found in the basement. It's Raimi's game. He twists things as he sees fit. You know, I'm just saying...

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 5:50 a.m. CST

    No Venom BS

    by the_shogun_gunslinger

ok...you're a douche considering Venom was in the ComicCon trailer months ago...quit trying to stir up shit. on a side note Aunt May as Carnage is like, the dumbest shit ive ever heared and anyone who believe it is now legally retarded. Harry looks stupid, yes...but i doubt he'll have too much to do and lets get this clear..HE IS NOT THE GG2!!! GOD, the Goblin has always sucked anyways, so let Raimi shit on the character all he wants.

    by Gilkuliehe

I mean, it wasn't as bad as SUPERMAN RETURNS, but damn do I have to keep that fast forward button pressed. It's boring Mary Jane, accident, boring crap, Octavious in the hospital, boring shit, boring, boring, boring and great friggin fight scene. Aunt May shut the fuck up please.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 7:38 a.m. CST

    Aunt May is...The Silver Surfer!

    by boba_rob

Yup, it's true. And uncle Ben isn't really dead. He shows up at the end. Turns out the uncle Ben that got shot was a Clone from Kamino. He came to earth 50 years ago in Grando Calrissian's pimped-out Falcon. I swear, this is all true and reliable information. Let's just hope that MJ has a wet shirt scene again. That would make everything right.

    Superman 3

    by amrisharmpit

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but Raimi seems to be mirroring Spidey on the Reeve Superman films. Spidey 3 evokes some parallels with Supes 3. Both introduce a new love interest (Gwen/Lana) and have the same idea of celebrating the superhero, until things get bad when he has to confront his inner demons (symbiote/the manmade Kryptonite). So Supes 3 wasn't all bad. Raimi obviously saw the potential good ideas from that film and used them for Spidey.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:48 a.m. CST

4 villains and the obvious explanation

    by Acappellaman

The fourth villain most certainly is NOT Aunt May as Carnage. That was an old rumor started when that showed up in IMDB, but as everybody here *should* know, anybody can post stuff on IMDB, and often incorrect casting gets posted there. The fourth villain obviously is Mysterio, but technically I wouldn't count him as a villain in the grand scheme of things. He's clearly going to be used in a Bond-esque intro, where Spidey makes his entrance into the movie to take out Mysterio. Do I know this as fact? Well, no, but it seems very obvious to me. The Aunt May/Carnage thing is just not gonna happen. I'd bet a lot of money on that.

Not like a fucking snowboard/hoverboard sideways shite, so stop moaning like bitches and stop making your minds up after seeing a fucking concept drawing.

i hope the *SPOILER* above is true! it is ace that Sam Raimi has stayed loyal to his mate Bruce and has him in these films. Spiderman 4 would probably mean no Evil Dead 4, which is a bummer. why not have Ash in SM4 at least?

Big Jim - multiple villains theory

    by mrbong

Big Jim - would you not conceed that the Batman series in the 90's was kiled by and large of the bad scripts and storylines being a consequence of their insistence of cramming mutliple villains in? disposing of two A-Grade baddies, Catwoman and Penguin, was a huge mistake for Returns.

    nostalgia fans

    by mrbong

i really miss those halycon days of the Star Wars Special Editions & The Phantom Menace when misguided and otherwise deranged moviegoers made an assortment of bewildering psychological-physiological accusations against George Lucas. are there no lunatic or possibly relatively stupid people out there who are obsessed with the late 70's-early 80's TV version of Spiderman who are prepared to claim that "Sam Raimi has raped my childhood" at all? there has to be at least one of you.......

    what you missed

    by leavittj1982

Basically, Peter just gets really, really, really, really daaaarrrrrrrk. He and MJ both do something really awful to each other, and it's MJ who might be the key to getting that suit off of him.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:07 p.m. CST

LAME, NO VENOM, AND THE EFFECTS CAN'T BE FINISHED!!!

    by Shermdawg

The black suit spidey looks too cartoony, it actually needs more texture to it. I'm hoping those aren't finished cg shots we're seeing.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:08 p.m. CST

Actually, they wouldn't have this problem...

    by Brother Desmond

if they would have had the premiere in several places. If several sites had it, it wouldn't get fucked when everyone goes to the same place at once. Assbags.

    confirmation on the bell

    by leavittj1982

The bell is swinging as Pete's rippin the suit off of him. But it looks like the suit actually fights back or something. Not stuff we've seen before btw.

oh man no venom, bunch of teasers

    by hellnback

just saw the trailer on VH1. even though it was amazing i was bummed that they showed no venom. guessing with all the black ooze shown throughout the trailer they're just teasing us and we might never see venom until it hits theaters. but great stuff anyway.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:15 p.m. CST

    Effects were AWFUL

    by amrisharmpit

There is nothing worse than watching a trailer with unfinished CGI. I'm not one to usually criticize that stuff, but I couldn't believe how bad it was - it was like watching a cartoon. Why did they put out a trailer with effects that aren't done yet? They should have waited till the Super Bowl to run this trailer.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:18 p.m. CST

    wtf

    by SmegheadRimmer

no Venom ... also hate it when a superhero gets unmasked that smeggin blows! not a bad trailer but no Venom !

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:19 p.m. CST

no venom? this just confirms what i thought all along.

    by Orionsangels

venom isn't really in the movie. he appears at the very end and then the credits role

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:18 p.m. CST

    Dasher's right

    by leavittj1982

Something was definetely cheap about the animated fight scene shots. I'm hoping it's unfinished... Anyway, this looks like it's going to rock after all. What I'm really wondering, though, is just how much of Peter's life, how many of his loved ones, the venom will damage and/or kill. Regarding the intro, I think it's safe to assume that SM becomes a hero after he saves JJJ's astronaut son. I'm glad to think they're sticking with the "alien" part of alien symbionite or whatever.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:22 p.m. CST

regarding no veom in the movie

    by leavittj1982

I'm curious whether it's GG's son or Venom who lands Peter in the hospital... Also, it's gotta suck for SM knowing that the only guy he's ever willingly killed WASN'T responsible for his uncle's murder, after all. I mean ouch.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:24 p.m. CST

    Venom

    by ranting_dude

In the last shot where Spider-Man is holding his hand up, if you pause, you can see something is around his neck. What exactly? Well, it looks like black webbing. Very interesting.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:25 p.m. CST

    In the Hospital?

    by Reilly

Where in the world do you all see Pete hurt in the hospital? All i saw was him staring at Harry with a neck collar on, cause he freaking threw a pumpkin bomb at his face.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:25 p.m. CST

At the end Sandman will reveal that he didn't kill Ben

    by LittleDudes

Instead he was actually his gay lover and was afraid to come out, so saying he killed him made him seem a bit more manly. Poor Aunt May. Personally I was a bit let down by this trailer, the previous one was far superior.

  • Nov. 9, 2006, 9:34 p.m. CST

    Reilly is right.

    by savagexp

Peter is fine. He puts Harry in the hospital. <br> Also, not a fan of seeing how Sandman bites it.

  • Nov. 10, 2006, 6:08 a.m. CST

    Sandman

    by bender7

I guessing Venom kills Sandman. The only way Sandman was killed in the comics was when Venom gave him a posionous bite, that's probably how he will die in the movie
