There's A Seriously Strange Trailer For Seinfeld's BEE MOVIE!!

Published at:  Nov 03, 2006 6:12:32 AM CST

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

I’m not really sure the world needs any more CG animated films about talking animals.

Having said that, I have to say that I am amused and a little weirded out by the trailer for Jerry Seinfeld’s BEE MOVIE.

CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE OFFICIAL SITE!!

You’ll see an intro there, and then you can follow a link to the teaser trailer that will premiere in front of FLUSHED AWAY this weekend.

What do you guys think of this as a trailer? Will it confuse audiences? Or is it enough to just get a laugh for now and then later show them what the movie really is?

I cannot believe I'm able to post.
    wow.
Well i don't give a shit about stupid confused audiences. And I don't even think it is so confusing. Are people that odd? I don't think so. I hope, though, that this kind of meta humour will not only be displayed in the trailer to pretend innovation. If

Trailer will be better than the movie...

    by biggles2_22

Love the trailer. Seinfeld rocks! The actors in the bug outfits rock. Too bad the movie's going to be a slightly above average CG flick and no where nearly as daring as this trailer. BTW were's Wanda Sykes?! I thought she was a requirement for all these cutesy talking animal flicks. I see they got Chris Rock.

teaser? CGI? Never was a fan of his stand up - too whiny, dry and slooooow. Why do they call them Wiggles? Is that all they do? *audience roars with laughter*

At the beginning after Seinfeld says "Is this even on straight?" he turns around, and his bee costumes' ass pushes the equipment ever so slightly. that was freaking funny as hell.

    by mortsleam

It'll be great if that kind of humor translates into cgi. But seeing as it's from Dreamworks, makers of bland, safe, reletentlessly pop culture referencing family fare such as Shrek, I'm not holding out much hope.

Good thing the bee has a human face,

    by jesuschrist

Or you might not know it's Jerry Seinfeld. Hey folks, it's Jerry Seinfeld, don't forget. You know, Jerry Seinfeld? Well the bee is him. You can tell by his human looking face. The face that looks like Jerry so you know the character is voiced by him. Whew, what a relief. I was worried that the character wouldn't look like Jerry and that I would forget that it was Jerry Seinfeld talking. I like animals and insects with eerily human faces on them, so that I can remember what celebrity is voicing them.

    by 'cholera's ghost

...although frustrated I'm not angry at Jerry. Indeed, I forgive Seinfeld of all his sins and declare this trailer to be genius without even having seen it. Unless he starts eating babies or something, this guy gets a free pass for life with me because of all the comedic joy he has bestowed on this here talkbacker. If I were a woman I would kiss him. On the mouth. And tongue wouldn't be ruled out.

"general and non-innovative"? huh? since we didn't see ANY of the film, how are you coming to that conclusion already? if all we have to go on is the fact that they made a live action teaser trailer for a CG movie, and it was somewhat funny, isn't that innovative? you jumped on the "whining about everything on AICN bandwagon" a little early on this one.

    by quadrupletree

No the world definitely does NOT need anymore CG talking animal movie. And I agree this is a funny trailer but audiences are going to be confused by this. I guess it's a way to generate buzz (get it?) But I could care less about another CG movie at this point even if it is Jerry Sienfeld.

look at the recent trend: Antz: A CGI kids movie about ants that talk!
Cars: A CGI kids movie about cars that talk!
Robots: A CGI kids movie about robots.. that talk!

Remember that South Park joke about manatees making Family Guy jokes? That must be what they do with kids movie plots. Insert celebrity and random animal or inanimate object, there's your movie. Jerry Seinfeld as a CGI bee, holy shit! How is this any different than Ashton Kutcher as a talking CGI walrus, or Michael Caine as a talking CGI radiator?

    by ctu mole

How many CGI talking animal movies do we need? When I was a kid they made maybe 5 animated films a year and I didn't even watch them. Grow up, you little bastards. Sneak into a slasher film. Talking aardvarks making pop culture references in Dane Cook's voice is not going to put hair on your ass.

it's good to see the classics never go out of style. By classics I am refering to taking a beloved widely revered star and say " I never liked him, he sucks, he's like watching paint dry, yada yada yada" You go rebels, ahhh I bask in your coolness. Peace. Oh yeah there's absolutely no way to judge the movie from what was shown here. This was just a pleasent and funny skit for our enjoyment. Learn to enjoy yourselves kids.

    CG animals and porn

    by oliviscus

Cute CG movies make money. That's why you see so many of them. I love Seinfeld, but this has nothing to do with him. CG animals are to movies what porn is to the internet. The driving engine. Hopefully CG will evolve and be accepted enough to do other genres. It is like computers and the path of least resistance described in Asimov novels. People hated machines unless they did a dangerous, labor intensive job. But eventually machines became people.
People hate CG unless it is a cartoon. Eventually CG will handle drama and all the other formats with great characters and plots and actors voicing them.

I would be excited about this movie if it were dirty

    by inwosuxred

and not "this is funny for the white haired fat white man taking his dumb ass kids to see it, but it will go over their heads so it is okay to throw in a joke that almost hints at the idea that sex exists" type dirty. The time has come for a funny (or at least something with character development and story not aimed at 4 year olds)rated R cg movie. This movie has been released like 100 times over the last few years. I think there were 50 "different" talking animal cg movies out just this year. This industry needs to either do something seriously different and daring or implode as soon as possible.
