...with a quick follow-up & confirmation regarding to Coaxial's previous post regarding whether or not Paramount is actively considering development of another Star Trek series.
In short, there have been further *strong* and *reliable* indications that Paramount is keenly interested in developing a new Trek series to fill the ugly void left by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's forthcoming conclusion.
At this time, there is still no indication as to what form such a series would actually take (i.e. what its setting would be, whether or not it would involve familiar places and characters - or be the radical rethink many fans seem to be calling for). There is some indication that such decisions may have already been made, or that a general "approach" to the series has now been established.
Finally, there are more solid hints this new series would likely come about sooner than later - but this factor is in no way definite, and may be subject to influence by numerous political and economic considerations.
