Heads up for you NYC fans of LOST!!! Geoffrey is callin' ya'!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. By now you should have seen the tons of articles we've done showing early looks at the McFarlane line of LOST action figures (well... being McFarlane, you could really call 'em inaction figures, but damn if they don't look bitchin'). Well, you lucky New York City people get a chance to collect some autographs and shake some hands once again.

Todd McFarlane will show up to the flagship Toys R Us store in New York City (I'm guessing the one in Times Square, but be sure to check for updated info) on November 6th and he won't be alone. A "principal" Lost star will be with him, signing figures for the hordes.

Considering the first series features Locke, Jack, Kate, Hurley, Shannon and Charlie, it's a good bet that one of those actors will be there signing mini-mes of themselves.

Now's your chance as movie and TV geeks to call McFarlane lame for only doing AVP, Nascar, weird Dragon crap and Military toys anymore! Heh. I wish I could be there.

If you need a reminder of how cool these bastards look, check out a couple pics below:

    Word on the street is

    by Purgatori

that Lost is going to take a 13 week hiatus, because get this...they don't want long spaces betweeen episodes. They LOST 5 million viewers this premiere. How many more do you think they'll lose taking a 1/3rd of a year off?

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 8:58 a.m. CST

The Lost "hiatus" is a GREAT idea

    by Osmosis Jones

Granted, it would have been better to have started the season in January, 24-style, to avoid repeats altogether, but I don't mind having all of the show's repeats crammed into one 2 1/2 month period intead of the maddening, start-and-stop programming schedule of last season.

    Word on the street?

    by nemesisdarkside

LOL, you make it sound as if it's studio gossip!<BR>Hasn't Lost's S3 schedule been common knowledge for months?!?

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 10:46 a.m. CST

    by TempusFugitive

They announced the schedule plan shortly after the end of S2 in direct response to the folks bitching about the seemingly random repeats in the S2 schedule. So instead of repeating that schedule, they planned a 6 episode arc to kick off the season, and then they come back next year to roll through the rest of the season non-stop. This has been the plan since Spring. But you knew that Purgatori, didn't you? Never let reality get in the way of trolling...

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 11:09 a.m. CST

    It's not gonna be repeats....

    by DiscoGodfather

ABC will fill the slot with a new series, Day Break, with Taye Diggs. It's going to be - wait for it - a serial drama! Because you can never have too many of those.

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 11:26 a.m. CST

    A Shannon figure??

    by Shigeru

WHY?! Because she's in her fucking bikini? Are people that desperate to jack off? WTF A Sayid figure would have slayed compared to a fucking Shannon one.

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 12:44 p.m. CST

    I don't Troll..

    by Purgatori

And no I didn't realize because my brain was reduced to mush from the weighty drama that was the season 2 finale. Did you catch that sarcasm, or do I need to throw it softer? So this doofy idea that they are still pursuing after losing a chunk of viewership sounds even more ignorant knowing that they had this planned earlier. Why not just take a cue from one of the still highest rated dramas on TV, 24, and have a non-stop season and just start it in January? Oh and I agree Shigeru, WTF with Shannon? Why not a Sawyer or Sayid, or hell even Jin or Sun? Better yet, an Ethan figure would have been a neat addition.

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 1:13 p.m. CST

Damn, I wanna see the Shannon picture!! waaaah

    by TheSeeker7

Though as much as I'm with Shigeru, I'm quite surprised to hear her's is among the first wave, how long's she been dead now? Of course, as little sense it makes in that scheme of things, I'm still in love with Shannon so I'm perfectly happy to have a doll of her ;) heh

These are statues with no poseability...

    by GrandMuffTarkin

That's what pisses me off about McFarlane figures. How about some damn articulation, please?

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 2:25 p.m. CST

    Articulation means seams.

    by Novaman5000

That's why these are statues and not action figures. They're meant for display, I think.

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 2:36 p.m. CST

And this "lost is losing viewers" thing has got to stop

    by Novaman5000

I'm willing to bet that alot of the viewers lost were because of the shitty schedule last year and the serial format of the show, not the shows quality. I know so many people that just couldn't keep up with it and so they are waiting for the DVDs. Problem is then that they then never catch the show again on tv unless they hustle through the DVDs. One of the problems with Lost is that it's not a show you can jump into easily. And if people are leaving simply because they're frustrated with the show, then it's their loss. Besides, 5 Million people lost doesn't mean that the show is in danger of being cancelled. Not even close. And, if all the shows started in january, there'd be nothing to watch in the fall. If this arc wraps up with some sort of big event, it won't be a big deal that there's some sort of break... it'll almost be like a mini-season finale. I'd prefer this way to the stop-start of last season.

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 2:43 p.m. CST

Oh, and I'm not being an apologist.

    by Novaman5000

So please lets not whip out that word.

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 4:29 p.m. CST

    More figures coming.....

    by Audets70

People people, this is ONLY the first wave. On the Macfarlane site, they say aa second wave, to hit next year, WILL include Sawyer, Jin, Michael, Walt(with Vincent), Boone, Libby, Ana-Lucia and ETHAN!!! Just give it time people. They probably had to pick 6 to knock out right away. I guess Claire, Sun and Sayid will have to wait for Series 3.

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 5:08 p.m. CST

    IT IS the show's quality

    by Malebolgia

I quit a couple of episodes into season 2, TOO FUCKING RIDICULOUS!!!

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 5:17 p.m. CST

    by DarthDooku

i may check this out, although it's sounds liked it's sure to be packed :p

  • Oct. 10, 2006, 5:42 p.m. CST

I don't know that anything happened in season 2 that

    by Novaman5000

didn't fit into the universe the created with season 1, but you're entitled to your opinion. It wasn't perfect, but I thought S2 did a great job building on S1 and taking it into new directions.

Wave two has only been officially confirmed so far to include Mr Eko, Sawyer, Jin and Sun, and is due out next May.

I wish I had infinite money and a place to display

    by Eaglet1138

Because these figures are awesome. Oh, and season 2 was great, aside from three episodes with kinda boring flashbacks (and yes, 'Dave' sucked. It did. Oh well.) Season 3 has been great so far, and as for losing viewers...I personally know five people who are watching this season who never watched before except from my DVDs that I let them borrow.

  • Oct. 11, 2006, 2:18 a.m. CST

    I personally know ten folks

    by Mister Man

who have quit watching. Numbers are down, and deservedly so.

  • Oct. 11, 2006, 3:39 a.m. CST

Well I know infinity plus one folks...

    by LeiaDown&FuckHer

Who say grow the fuck up already. "Oooh, look at me, I'm hating on something that's popular, fuck I'm hardcore and original today!" Yeah, right, whatever. Like what you like, don't like what you don't like, and leave others to do likewise without being an ass about it all and smearing other peoples opinions with your own petty shit with delusions that it don't stink. Or, you know, carry right on, honestly it's not like anyone gives a fuck either way. Including me, so why am I even bothering to write this? Good question...

  • Oct. 11, 2006, 10:30 a.m. CST

    I told you so...

    by apersonofinterest

Wow, I got the drop on AICN weeks ago...posted this in the season premiere talkback...In your face AICN!!! And I stopped buying Spawn toys because they come out of the package broken. That's never happened to me with any other toys but it happened twice with Todd's Toys...and yes...i take them out of the package *gasp*. I like to get high off of the explosion of toxic fumes that accompany opening a Spawn Toy...mmmmm...I'm dizzy
