COOOOOL!!! I had hundreds of issues of TINTIN come through my hands back when I ran my Comic shop in the late 60's and early 70's. They literally leaped from FATHER GEEK'S hands into the grasp of eager collectors so I know a strong market awaits this film, but I'm not sure Leo is the best choice...

H.C.Earwicker here with another scoop(ish) sort of epistle. The Economist reports that Leo DiCaprio is under consideration to play boy reporter Tintin in a film adaptation of Belgian George Remi's comic.

Rémi, who wrote under the nom-de-plume Hergé, died in 1983. But it's déja vu all over again, as this classic comic may come to pass if Asterix is the international hit makers expect it to be.

To me, the Earwicker, the DiCaprio rumor is just that, although the Economist is an upfront kinda magazine. But who could play this teen reporter who never grows old? Personally, Earwicker wants an unknown, but doesn't he always? McCauley Culkin, call your agent and put that new wife on hold. Who to play Captain Haddock? Think Brian Blessed or Robbie Coltraine.

Earwicker also thinks that the _Novel Tintin in the New World_, by Frederic Tuten would make an excellent film.
