A Look at IDLE HANDS, but with the new ending... SPOILERS

Well, this person basically does all the referencing for me, so here ya go....

Woof! It's The Pit Bull back again with news about the new teen
horror/comedy IDLE HANDS. Awhile back, Mean Johnny Barrow wrote about a
preview he saw of this gross-out comedy, but what he didn't see was the
new ending. That's because it was just shot! It seems that Sony
Pictures decided that the climatic scene, although visually spectacular,
was too serious and not in keeping with the comedic tone of the rest of
the mayhem, so a new ending was written and shot this past week.

Mean Johnny has reported on the important elements of the plot and
characters. The cast includes Devon Sawa, Seth Green, Eldon Henson, and
Chris Hart. Who is Chris Hart, you ask? He is the actor who played
Thing in THE ADAMS FAMILY films, and his talented hand is the murderous
appendage in IDLE HANDS. And then there's Jessica Alba. She plays
Molly, the girl next door who is the object of Devon Sawa's affections
and the hand's chosen sacrificial victim who will open the Gates of
Hell. She is one sexy lady, and the new ending reveals more of her
assets than the original.

IDLE HANDS treads the fine line of gross horror and gross comedy.
Imagine a guy who has had his head cut off and then put back on eating a
microwave burrito and the stuff leaks out where his head was
reattached. You get the idea. That's one of the milder things that
happens.

Devon Sawa plays Anton Tobias, a teen who spends his days smoking pot,
listening to rock, and watching music videos. He has all but dropped
out of high school. This film will put Devon in the ranks of some of
the best young physical comedians around. His timing is a joy to watch.
Seth Green and Eldon Henson are his two best friends, Mick and Pnub, who
Anton (actually Anton's possessed hand) kills, but come back as zombies
to help their bud. Some of the funniest, and grossest moments are
theirs.

In the new ending marijuana is the weapon that saves the girl and the
world. The relaxed attitude to smoking weed that this film portrays is
going to be very controversial. See too, if you can count all the
references to South Park, as well as sly nods to classic horror films
like CARRIE.

I saw IDLE HANDS with a temp music track, but with a cool soundtrack,
this will be the horror, sex, drugs, and rock and roll film to beat. An
instant cult classic.

I'm going to go chew on a few neighborhood cats, now, so until next
time, 'bye from The Pit Bull.

    I'm there!

This movie sounds great. I'm a big fan of Seth Green, he's great in Buffy, was funny as hell in "Can't Hardly Wait", and kicked ass in his small role in "Enemy Of The State"! This movie is gonna rule!

    An evil petting zoo?

I don't know about this one, but Seth Green is a good actor. I still remember him as Joey, the guy that gets into the PA system in the classic Christian Slater/Samantha Mathis teen film "Pump Up the Volume" that New Line dumped in late summer 1990.

Having seen a preview of Idle HAnds with the first ending (which wasn't BAD, just confusing), I just thank God for the reshoot. (Oh, MAN! What am I SAYING?!)
