Ewan McGregor to star in a remake of ALFIE'
Well here's a weird as hell out of the blue rumor that I wasn't ever expecting to say, it looks like someone is thinking of Remaking ALFIE, that wonderful Michael Caine film from a whiles back. Hmmmm, well it's a rumor at this point, but I'm curious to hear what you people think about this. What do ya think? Here's the scoop....
Greetings from your cold 'neighbours' here London.
It's just been reported on London radio station Heart 106.2FM that Ewan
Mcgregor has been lined up to play the title role in a remake of the classic
1960s Michael Caine film, 'Alfie'.
Ewan's already shown he can do a decent cockeny accent. His first role on TV
was as a Londoner in Dennis Potter's 'Lipstick on your Collar'.
I dunno, with all the rash of remakes around at the moment, I hope they
don't screw this one up a la Psycho. The thing is, the original is already a
classic that has been seen by everyone who loves great films, so what's the
point of remaking it? They can't do it any better so I hope that they at
least try and do something a little different with it.
Sorry there's no more detail than that, but eyes will be kept especially
well peeled over here for further developments.
Cheers,
Fast
