PREQUEL TOYS IN TV ADS!!!
For those of you who collect or record such things Father Geek has decided to post the following bit of Toy/TV coolness. I have tapes full of old toy ads dating back into the 50's they can be a real hoot to watch and they document their packaging and extras which can come in handy when trying to collect the toys 20 years later.
I am not sure that this is the kind of thing that you are looking for, but today I was watching
Nickelodean (Don't laugh. I enjoy their reruns of the Charlie Brown show) but as I was watching the
commercial break, I heard a familiar William's fanfare and then up came the Star Wars logo and a
commercial for the new STAP with Droid toy. The kids playing with them were flying them around like
Speeder Bikes. They shot down some Lincoln Logs or some crazy crap like that. Then it said 'STAR
WARS' Episode I : See where it all began.
As if that wasn't cool enough, a few minutes later they had another STAR WARS commercial and
then advertised getting the Mace Windu action figure when you buy six Star Wars figures. And yes
they did show pictures of him.
Nothing much, but the toy advertisements have begun!
Have fun!
Joey
