Trailer for Eastwood's FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS is raised!

Published at:  Sep 09, 2006 1:29:39 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here - The trailer for the English language Eastwood Iwo Jima flick has popped up online, and it looks damn good. The look of the film is immaculate and the texture of the period seems very lush. There's also a sadness to the images as well as an authenticity that I really really like. It feels like it pops right out of a LIFE magazine cover. Can't see this one soon enough.

THE RIGHT TIME , THE RIGHT PICTURE

With everything that is going on in this country, to our soldiers, and the 5th anniversary of 9/11, this could not have come at a more crucial time.

I did not want to ruin anything for those of you who have not read the book............I read this book, along with James Bradley's other book "Flyboys" about a year ago and was really impressed. I had no idea that the famous flag raising picture was not the original flag raised and was surprised at what all of the attention did to the surviving men from the photograph. I just hope the movie is true to the book. BTW, I highly recommend both books......

Wow, interesting. Doesn't look like Hollywood glamorous slop. I may have to put this on my list of "must see films."
