Angela Bettis to bare SCARS in 3D!!!

Published at:  Sep 09, 2006 4:00:48 AM CDT

Greetings AICN, MiraJeff here to report that Angela Bettis has signed on to the psychological horror flick Scar from director Jed Weintrob. I know, Angela Bettis in another horror movie, so what, right? Well Scar is different because it will be the first film to be shot with high definition 3-D technology.

And as if that isn't enough, the movie is cool news for another reason. I went to school at NYU with the screenwriter, Zack Ford, who is all of 23 years old. The script started out as his senior thesis, wound up in the right producer's hands, got rewritten (by Ford) a whole bunch of times to amp up the scares and tighten it up, and wham, bam, greenlight, thank you ma'am. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

The script follows a young woman was the sole survivor of a serial killer's murder spree who also managed to kill his ass. But when she returns to her small hometown for her niece's high-school graduation, the killings resume. Sounds creepy to me, sort of like Stab, the movie series within a movie series from Scream 2 and 3. So congrats to Zack on his first script sale, and congrats to Fugitive Films and producer Norman Twain who have the balls to reinvent the wheel with this HD 3-D stuff, which is all about pleasing us genre fans. Production begins in October in Calgary. Personally I can't wait to see Bettis in Lucky McKee's The Woods, as well as her directorial debut Roman, which what do you know, stars Lucky McKee. 'Til next time, this is MiraJeff signing off...

Netflix "May" and "Sick Girl" already. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll start, you'll lust.

Lucky McKee's never to be released Woods?

Wasn't that movie, featuring Bruce Campbell, set to be released around the same time as M Night's Village? Night had to change the name of HIS film from the Woods to the Village due to McKee's movie. And here we are, over 2 years later, and still no film.
