More Images From Besson's JOAN OF ARC!!!

Published at:  Nov 03, 1998 3:49:16 AM CST

Harry here with more cool pics from Luc Besson's cool project JOAN OF ARC. Maaaaaaaaaaan, this film is sooo damn tight. Just like he was on FIFTH ELEMENT, but at least this time he has to shoot out doors so some stuff like this the mags overseas can grab for us. Way too cool. I love the original Ingrid Bergman version, but I'm willing to bet this is a substantial departure. Anyone know the skinny? The last thing I heard was Dustin Hoffman had joined the cast.

    This looks really good

    by akabu

It really is a big change for Luc Besson to go from futuristic stuff(5th Element) to medieval court...Now I also think that Milla Jovovich is a good choice for this role I saw her other movies and she is quit convincing. As the french reporter or whoever wrote the lines on the pictures says: It must be so long and so hard to shoot a whole day in these armors...any date concerning the release of this one?

    Milla

    by frankenstein

Ok, first of all Milla can act. People who think she only came from Fifth Element is totally ignorant. She was in Chaplin, Kuffs, Return to Blue Lagoon and others as well. She has proven herslef as an actress. Fifth Element was a very difficult role because she had to rely on physical expression rather than complete voice acting. She also had to almost totally create the language she used in the role. If you think you can do that as well get a life. Ive tried, heh heh.

IT LOOKS BAD, MIRA'S MOVIE LOOKS BETTER

    by scott miller

This movie needs to look better that it does with those pictures. It is competing with another Joan of Arc film with Mira Sorvino in the lead. There are two different possibilities that will happen, either the one which is released first will domanite (Dante's Peak and Volcano) or they will both be hits (Deep Impact, Armageddon). I personal like Luc Besson, I think he is a very good and interesting director, but I think Milla Jojovoich is a horrible choice for a lead. She has not shown any acting skill what so ever in any of her movies (The Fifth Element, Dazed And Confused). I think someone like Sharon Stone or Sigourney Weaver would be much better for the part.

    Age Factor

    by usul

I'm pretty sure Joan of Arc died when she was around 19 I don't think Sigourney Weaver or Sharon Stone really fit the part...
Also if Luc Besson thinks that Milla Jovovich can pull it off, then who am I to argue.

    Best Joan of Arc

    by jack lucas

IMHO the best Joan of Arc would have been Jane Weidlin but I guess that is just coz I have watched Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure _way_ too much.

She is getting on a bit now though so I would have thought Winona Ryder instead. She looked good in Alien 4 with short hair and is much better looking than Milla.

Not that I dont find Milla good looking but anyone who holds up Return to the Blue Lagoon as an example of her ability to act is in need of a check-up from the neck up.
