Cool News
Tony Jaa works his magic in NY and one of our spies caught it on video!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. You might remember I posted an alert for all New York area AICN readers regarding Tony Jaa making a personal appearance to promote TOM YUM GOONG aka THE PROTECTOR. Well, one of our loyal geeks went, met the man, got an autographed poster (the bastard) and witnessed the Man God in action. He won't give me his poster, but he would share this with us all. The audio is a little out of sync, but goddamnit if I still don't get a thrill watching Jaa do his thing! Enjoy, courtesy of "Yommers" and YouTube!!!

As in "happy" or "merry" and not as in homosexual anal sex.

Just going along with the theme.
-
I don't get it. Two dudes stage some lame ass fight with irish music playing in the background. WTF?
-
I'm going to keep posting comments like this talkback until this site gets their asses in gear. Seriously, where's the cool news? I havent seen anything cool or new on this site in quite some time. Does anyone else feel the same?
-
I don't agree, we just saw AWESOME pictures of two guys painting a boat! I mean, c'mon...
-
Thank you troll! How could i forget those legendary photos and the 2 year old photo's of the Back to the Future slot machine posted yesterday. For shame Paddy... for shame!
-
This couldn't be less interesting.
-
This is a clip of Tony Jaa showing how he could kick all our asses and not give a shit. I say let him battle Uwe Boll.
-
Big Yawn !! Big Freakin' deal !~!!
-
He's biggest young action star in Asia right now, you globalcentric fucks. I've had my complaints with AICN in the past, but if they want to pimp an actor hey like then guess what, it's a privately run site. Don't like it? Then shut the fuck up and go over to CHUD
-
I enjoy his movies, mostly because he knees people in the head incessantly. Like the 7 and a half foot tall guy who was running at him. He got two knees to the head. Implausible but a great fucking scene.
-
love the site, love the video, love Quint's johnson in my mouth. Oh...
Seriously though, everyone can just calm down. Maybe there just isn't that much interesting film-related news these days? Painting boats CAN be fun to see...er...slot machines too? The point is, listen to Jotham and Halt dem Mund! -
That makes me sad. Oh well, I went over to youtube and there's plenty of other videos of Jaa doing his thing, so I can get my fix that way. And does anyone else think that the new title "The Protector" is really lame?
-
You must be the bastard child of a retard to think that's Irish music you dumb f*ck.
-
You must be Irish to actually care about my post.
-
Tony Jaa is the truth!
-
that fucking ruled. tony jaa is the man. i'm just wondering how they picked out that sucker he's "fighting" in the ring. i can only imagine the casting call: "seeking patsy to have ass handed to him by muay thai expert in front of 50 laughing fanboys. no pay, but copy, credit, and meal."
-
He's like chan, has a team of guys he trains with. They're all his employees.
-
You cockmasters just don't have the brains to appreciate what your seeing. Jaa OWNED that poor bastard.
-
Probably a 'routine' that him and his stunt man have done dozens of times. Yawn. Not to say his films aren't good but I think I prefer the paint the fence, I mean boat pics.
-
Jesus, we can only hope! That baby-doll voice of his ... But seriously, you dolts ought to know a little something about something before you slam it: "The Protector" aka "Tom Yum Goong" is the best martial arts film at least since Drunken Master 2, and it's a whole damn sight meaner (yay!).
-
Anybody else think it's a hoot that they've given this the same title as Jackie Chan's first US movie (you remember, the really bad one with Danny Aiello back in 1985)? I'm gonna see this movie three times in the theater 'cuz my DVD is already wearing out ...
-
Jaa owned that poor bastard??? He is his stuntman/employee, they have rehearsed and performed the same thing a thousand times, the novelty wears off a long time ago. Like ppl said here, I rather watch dry paint.
-
This dude is the real deal. I mean he really could play Ryu and not miss a beat. Furthermore, wow, some people are hard to impress. I suppose if he started coughing up gold eyes and passed them around to every memeber of the audience, some of you would still not be impressed.
-
I like "Ong Bak" way better than this one; sure there are some astounding martial arts shenanigans, but as a movie it just doesn't hold together. Crap plot, dumb excuses for fight scenes, horrible acting (the guy who plays Dirty Balls can barely speak English... are they gonna give him subtitles in the US release???). But then again the amazingly hilarious ELEPHANT scene almost saves it.
-
then why would that person click on a Tony Jaa article? Why wouldn't that person just tune in to Entertainment Tonight??!? Even at 40% intensity or whatever level that was, the possibly-somewhat-choreographed fights in the video are better than most movie fight scenes because (1) Tony Jaa has amazing skill and control and he makes it look easy, (2) we get a continuous shot with no crazy zooms, (3) there were no wires, and (4) there were interesting techniques and it was not all taekwondo-style brute-force bashing. So, if someone is a fan of movie fight scenes, then that person should find the video interesting. And if a person is not a fan of movie fight scenes, then what is he watching Tony Jaa movies for, the *story*??!?!?
-
But it's still a decent flick. The fight scenes and stunts are amazing. The bad english could be a problem--They should definitely subtitle it. It has new music by RZA and it'll probably be re-edited too (just like Ong Bak).
-
Tony Jaa was great in Ong Bak, but I loved seeing him here doing his routine as a continuous shot. Who doesn't think it's cool when he did that flip or when he kicked the thing off the freaking ceiling? Never saw anything like that.
-
You're jealous, and that's okay. It probably isnt easy knowing that all those cheetos you sit their mouth fucking yourself with, aren't going to help you take any steps toward athletic prowess or hell, a girl willingly talking to you. Sit their on your computers and TRY to insult Tony Jaa because it is all you will ever amount to. Is a lazy fat fuck who bitches and bemoans at the talkents of others. Anyway, Chan made a cameo in Tom Yum Goong, if that is any indication, I would say Jaa has Chan's approval, and that can only mean great things. Chan choreographing his next movies? That would rock!!

Apologies to anyone trying to read that last post... talkents = talents by the way. Fuckers
-
You're all fat fucking fuckers with no fucking girlfriends! Fucking stupid, lazy, asshole fucks! Apologies to anyone about any misspelled words or grammatical errors. You fucks!
-
was his only line and *kick*punch*arm twist*leg break* was pretty much Tony Jaa's routine in Tom Yung Goong
-
I couldn't see the video earlier today, which is why I thought it was deleted. But now I see it. Tony Jaa rocks.
-
dispositionally, not medically
-
so bite me people who dont like it. of course it was rehearsed and the guy was his stunt partner. who the fuck cares, hes got skill and could rape anyones ass if he wanted to, and this proves it
-
don't ask me why. Not a good sign when a flick has 3 different titles, though I enjoyed it. But the film stock and production values are pretty ropey and Jaa deserves better. Didn't Ong Bak make a fortune? Where did the money go?
-
...I want Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Tony Ja to kick my ass.
-
Thanks for keeping Tony Jaa in the spotlight, he's the future of filmed martial arts
-
then why would that person click on a Tony Jaa article? Why? because I want to see if there is anything new, sadly there isn't.And it's just not cool to watch the same bad guy raise the hand robotically for him to do the locks for two hundred times in the movie it just drags on and on.
-
The film stock for the protector is great. What it sounds like you saw was the very first dvd of it, which Suuuuuuucked. The whole thing looked awful. The new version shows just how beautifully shot the film was. It's gorgous. You need to check the new version out.
-
Jaa kick is just intermediate taekwando kick, a teenage tawkwando practioner who practises for several years can be equal or better than him. Check the video, they all own him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEGDUT4tNzk
-
What's your problem with Jaa? An experienced taekwondo fighter would not be able to take on a Muay Thai Fighter like Tony Jaa who is experienced in it, not just some guy who took a few lessons. Sounds to me like Taekwondo the sport you love which is one of the martial arts that's least respected, is what really hurts you, because people into martial arts know that muay thai is more effective and the general populace is far more blown away by Muay Thai and Tony Jaa than they are by you and your taekwondo. So suck a dick. Tony Jaa owns you and your family.
-
What's the problem? Has you checked out the youtube video?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEGDUT4tNzk
His trick is just some common taekwondo trick, what the fucking big deal? I have no problem with Jaa, just his movie esp. The Protector is so fucking stupid I cannot believe this age and space we are spoonfed with such a low low quality shitty movie. His skills is okay, not spectacular, why don't he concentrate on making more quality movies. And why shall I be surprised that there are so many shrills in this site?
