Donny and Ray Stantz are best men in I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY!!!

Published at:  Aug 23, 2006 5:16:53 AM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Remember the Alexander Payne/Jim Taylor scripted Adam Sandler comedy I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY? You know, the one about the two straight firemen who try to get their benefits for being a same-sex couple? Sander and Kevin James play the couple to be, Jessica Biel is in it, too... and now they've added two more character actors that make me want to see this movie even more: Steve Buscemi and Dan Aykroyd.

Buscemi looks to be playing the King Dick of the film, playing a city official dispatched to prove that these two men are not indeed gay and are cheating the system. Aykroyd will play the captain of the firestation where the men work.

The more I hear about this movie, the more I find myself looking forward to it. What about you?

    sounds great!

It really does somehow.. Hopefully a step in the way I wanted Happy Gilmore movies to progress with less "Click" and more "Anchorman".. But with Steve Buscemi in hopefully a big role. Dan Aykroyd is a plus in my book too. He does alot of crap from time to time but this seems like a natural for him.

Yup, been in alot of them but always in very small roles. I get that they're just kinda cameos but I hope he gets a bigger part in this.

Is this a remake of Strange Bedfellows?

    by mr. p. lant

That was an Aussie film starring Paul Hogan that came out a couple of years ago and ate truckloads of shit. The plots sound identical. Look it up on IMDB bitches.

    Sounds Fucking Awfull

    by flamingrunt

Dont tell me, this involves hilarious consequences as they have to kiss each other and pretend to be effeminate. This is 2006, straight men pretending to be gay stopped being funny about 2005 years ago. And tell Ackroyd to get his ass back to the ghostbusters 3 scrrenplay.

    Sounds Lame

    by pammybabe

Sounds like some producer came up with the 'brilliant' idea of what would happen if two men pretended to be a gay couple and then they got someone else to a write a script around the idea. Might have just about worked in a half hour sitcom but I doubt it will carry a whole movie.

    I remember Buscemi from "Airheads"

    by animejune

Goooood movie. This could be good, I think. I mean, everyone remember when "The Ringer" was announced, and it was immediately assumed they were going to shit on the mentally retarded throughout the film, but then it actually got a thumbs-up from the Special Olympics board? I dunno, this has the potential for awesome. But I also loved "Click", so what do I know?

... a pretty terrible movie. Evolution springs to mind.

Cant See This One Getting The Thumbs Up From GLAAD

    by flamingrunt

More like the laughs will be generated by people seeing Sandler acting like a gay man. And by people i mean 12 year olds with emotional and mental problems.

    Buscemi should be

    by mechasheeva

doing good movies, not crap like this. Akroyd hasn't done anything worthwhile in years, and every time I see Kevin James I want to jump into the screen and punch him in the face. And Sandler's usual schtick was old in the 90's. Kevin James should go crawl into a hole somewhere and stay there, and the rest of these guys should put their talents to actual use.

This and the upcoming "Freshman Orientation" are both straight guy pretending to be gay movies. Great we gays get one shitty mainstream movie about sheep herders that wasnt even portraying us that well and now we are getting gay bashing movies. Kiss my homosexual ass Hollywood!

It's great how comedies with gay people as a focus

    by creasybear

run the gamut of every gay joke there is, but include just enough empathy at the end to make the audience (and activists) think the movie was all about tolerance. Think Shallow Hal for fat women.
