This sounds like a MONUMENTAL step down from GG...contrived as all get out. Like Marti Noxon's Point Pleasant, will get shitcanned by Fox.
Aug. 2, 2006, 3:29 a.m. CST
If they don't get someone as good and hot as Lauren Graham there will be a problem, as although I really like GG, the writing can sometimes come off as shrill. Also what is a "put" pilot, is that different to a regular pilot or is it just variety speak?
Aug. 2, 2006, 3:41 a.m. CST
I shit you not, Lauren Graham and that 7 of 9 chick were roommates! *yawn*
Aug. 2, 2006, 3:44 a.m. CST
How awful is that ugly as hell Captain America vs. Red Skull piece of shit, Sideshow is tryin' to sell on here? I'd like to see the designs they passed on.

Even better description- annoying-as-fuck. Seriously, GG tries way too hard to be witty (kinda like Joss Whedon shows) and it just grates on my nerves every time I've tried to watch it. I've watched about 14 ep's...over-rated crap.
Aug. 2, 2006, 8:19 a.m. CST
This sounds like the girliest show ever. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It'll be fun to watch the hot young actress' fake stomach grow while the rest of her stays thin.

You know it's true. Big fat homo loves a good cry.

After 6 years and right before it's potential final season? Fuck her. She's just as bad as Marti Noxon.

if my sister-in-law wanted to carry my wife's baby, I'd knock her up.
Aug. 2, 2006, 9:07 a.m. CST
There's only two outcomes: It struggles to find an audience whilst comstantly being shuffled round the schedules, with critics pleading viewers to track it down. Or, it's critically reviled & Fox decides to shove it down every viewer's throat.

Nef asks "HOw do we get SUPER QUALITY SHOWS like futurama, angel, alias off the air while there is this trash being made". Answer: You know how supernatural and science fiction elements make you and me stop changing the channel and watch? Well for many many many people, and I mean MANY, the reaction is exactly the opposite. It MAKES them start turning the channel to get away.
Aug. 2, 2006, 10:19 a.m. CST
In most cases.
I read this talkback and I feel like I have come home. Can't believe it has lasted this long.
Veronica Mars is not a girl show.
Aug. 2, 2006, 11:26 a.m. CST
More dialog that moves at the speed of light while being equally weighty. Saying things fast does not make up for the fact the plots are crap, dialog is crap, acting is passable at best, setting is a hack combo of the worst sort of Norman Rockwell myoptic memories crossed with go-go 90's hipster drivel.....oh - and thats the new show.....which will surely be GG in the OBGYN......

And on another note, I hate show descriptions that sound like this. It's a gimmick, and when a show is based entirely around a gimmick, it has nowhere to go. This will fail.
Aug. 2, 2006, 12:39 p.m. CST
They fuck up everything. First they cancel Firefly and show the show out of order. Then they cancel Arrested Development. Then they advertise watch season 5 of 24 again in order...then about a third of the way through, the execs decide against it and quit showing it for the movie of the week. So if there is a new show on FOX, don't get attached to it, it will probably be fucked up some how.

no matter how long this show lasts, we are going to get daily updates from Herc.

A "Put" pilot means that the producer/creator is guranteed that the pilot will be bought, scripted, shot and be placed on the schedule. A normal pilot can be terminated at any point in it's development. If a "put" pilot is terminated there is usually a large financial penalty levied against the offending network. The upcoming CBS show "The Class" is a "put" pilot. It had a 13 episode guarantee from the start. Generally a "put" pilot is a reflection of the power and import of a show's producer and/or stars.

Oh please, let it be about some quirky young women who spend all of their time standing around talking about life, each other, and their feelings while sneaking in some snarky dialogue every once in a while! We don't have enough of those kind of shows..! Now excuse me while I go throw up.
Aug. 2, 2006, 1:19 p.m. CST
Its gonna be the next Will and Grace(sans the laugh track).
Aug. 2, 2006, 1:47 p.m. CST
I wanted to flip the channel halfway through reading the goddamn PREMISE for this show. The only good fallout of this will be when, inevitably, it flames out on Fox
Aug. 2, 2006, 2:57 p.m. CST
associate the word "mastermind" with the Gilmore Girls? THE most annoying fucking TV show I have ever seen. What the fuck are these producers thinking by making everyone talk like they are on speed?
Aug. 2, 2006, 3:16 p.m. CST
Matt Czuchry will play Logan Echolls' brother, as announced by Michael Ausiello within the last hour, he'll debut on Veronica Mars' 10/24 episode. http://tinyurl.com/q5kno for the scoop.

ok maybe i am, but only b/c my ex was a HUGE fan (you know how that is) and honestly some writers have good verbal rhythms (see Sorkin, Mamet, and of course Shakespeare) and some don't (see above).
