In LA and want to meet Richard Kelly and Kevin Smith? Then head to The Stash!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'd love to be able to attend this event. Anyone who has listened to Richard Kelly and Kevin Smith talk together knows how funny they are together. I saw them speak together at Comic-Con last year and Kelly was very nervous and Kevin was... well, Kevin. Nothing phases that dude.
I'm also really looking forward to reading this SOUTHLAND TALES prequel graphic novel, so considering Smith (who plays a character in SOUTHLAND) and Kelly are going to be signing copies this event is right up my alley. Unfortunately my alley is halfway across the world at the moment... I'll just have to pick up my copy at Comic-Con when I get back...
So, on Thursday, July 6th, from 6:30-8:30PM Richard Kelly and Kevin Smith will be at Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash (1045 Westwood Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90024) signing copies of this:

SOUTHLAND TALES: TWO ROADS DIVERGE is the first of 3 graphic novels that compose the lead-in to Kelly's flick. So, fans... now you know and knowing is... well, knowing. Enjoy you lucky LA SOBs!

Weird. Red Bank for life, or something of the sorts. Monmouth Street at that...
-
And Donnie Darko was "ok". Not the cult masterpiece many claim it to be.
-
The Kevin Smith/Richard Kelly commentary for Darko is one of the best i've ever heard. Insightful and funny.
-
Whatever.
-
Would Kevin have anything to do if it weren't for Comic Con?

In LA and want to meet Richard Kelly and Kevin Smith?
by VanLingoMungo
Yes I am, and no I don't.
-
Snap, snap, get to it already. You know you wanna.
-
I asked for in the talkback where he answered our posts. I asked him to put "SHERMDAWG IS THE FUCKING MAN!!!" in the closing credits of Clerks 2. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks. *crosses fingers* ;)
-
Any females out there would like to have some drinks... A/S/L
-
Shermdawg that would be cool. If I was making movies and fan asked that I might sneek it in...just for laughs. I never heard the Darko smith/Kelly commentary, Did KS have anything to do with that movie?
-
Well dr. Worm, I guess it's wrong for me to ask for a woman's age, sex, and location on a movie forum? I'm looking for some fellatio ^_^... Aren't we all?
-
When you advertise a comic you've got to show preview pages!
-
for DOMINO?
-
Tony Ciccone, William Goldenberg and Christian Wagner, the film editors of Domino.
-
hateful shiyzuh (forget about me spelling anything in German correctly). The question I have is, does Southland Tales stand on its own, or does the informed filmgoer seriously need to crack the (graphic) books to get it???
-
One of the most annoying grammatical errors. Read a book or two, you'll get it eventually. I'm unfortunately hearing bad thing sbout SOUTHLAND TALES, from fanboys no less.
-
jeez dude. shiyzuh sounds like arabic not german.
-
I'd at least get excited to meet these guys (as opposed to most film maker hacks). I don't blame Kelly for Domino so much, more the Scott and the Editors... ADD MoFos...
-
There has to be better websites than this to try and get sex. Unless fat fanboys are your bag...
-
It was marketed from the beginning as "A Tony Scott Film", so you knew what you were paying for before the lights when down. You only have your poor judgment to blame.
-
when their the work is so shitty, they don't want to use the real name? That's why in movies like Dogma, Malrats, and Jersey Girl it says it's a Kevin Smith film.
-
Thanks for the advice Bryce.... I wonder who will have more nerd fans show up or if they're betting on it.... I'm going with Smith..
-
in recent history (excepting maybe CRASH) - lucky? the only interesting thing about going into that store is seeing the director of a movie (vulgar) working a cash register directly across from a shelf selling his film, and despite smith's hatred of it, a ton of family guy merch. its not even a good comic shop.
-
smiths films arent masterpieces but theyre at least watchable.
-
is Smith dumb enough to shake a fan's hand?
-
KS has deranged fans that would probably eat a turd if he told them to. Me, I just like him. 'Rabid' Kelly fans are probably too emo to leave the house... I'm in a fine mood today!

Made my way to the Red Bank, NJ, Stash for the first time last month, and it was absolutely the coolest shop I've stepped into since the heady fanboy comic book shops of my youth. Walt Flanagan was a delight, the place was chock-full o' fanboy goodness, and generally speaking, it was the most goddamned fun I've had in a commercial enterprise in about 15 years. Even WITHOUT coming out dead-broke. Kelly's DARKO ain't exactly my cup of tea (my wife loved it) and yeah, I'll agree that Kevin's work is never gonna get shelved next to CITIZEN KANE... but jesus, people, enough already! These are good guys. Fans themselves. Ones who've turned their fanboy loves into successful careers. You frackin haters really need to chill out. Expend some of that energy on positive emotions; you'll live longer.
-
Actually, No. I don't ever want to meet Kevin Smith. Infat he should have to pay people for wasting their time with his bullshit.
-
Both your posts made me laugh out loud.
-
Head on down to Kevin Smith's buy-my-stuff-O-rama! I think I'll wait till Comic-con to get my yearly KS fix...
-
These guys are gonna be autograohing each other's bungholes. THink they give a flying cunt-fart about you? Why would they make the movies they make? Kelly especially. He's made some of the worst movies I have ever seen. and i've seen a bunch. I watched Air Bud again last night, FYI. and FYI, it fuckin kicked my ass.
-
Ill go but I hate Westwood. worst place in the world. I used to like it when K Smith did his appearances at Dave's Video in Studio City. that place was the shit( too bad it's gone forever).
-
What happened to The Lion and his grand project
-
Man, there's only only Stash, and it's on Main St. in Red Bank (even though it used to be on Monmouth Rd). Shouldn't we be called this Stash in LA the Stash Redux or something?
-
Excuse my lateness... Wow, didn't know Kevin had it like that. I've only seen Clerks having not heard about it. *yea, what rock was I under* and I really enjoyed it. I'm there for Clerks II!
-
Lol when you don't have nothing to do Mattw, you come online and time some really stupd stupid shit
-
Smith will wait at least a 15 minutes before talking about Ben Affleck.
-
no, really.
