Another Season Of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM On The Drawing Board!!

Published at:  May 01, 2006 11:10:02 AM CDT

I am – Hercules.

What else is Larry David going to do with himself? “Grandmaster B” has the details:

Not exactly an officially confirmed bit of news just yet, but I was at
the "Toga, Toga, Toga! What the Industry Learned at Faber College"
speakers panel featuring Harold Ramis, Todd Phillips, Jake Kasdan, and
Jeff Garlin at the Tribeca Film Fest the other night, and after Garlin
was asked if there'd be another season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, he
stated that Larry David has indeed been working on one more. It was
always the intention to have last season be the LAST season, but Larry
has been writing away and Jeff would be more than happy to do it. He
mentioned how Larry is very rich (much to the amusement of the
audience) and doesn't need to do it for the money, so when he wants to
do it, it's only because it's (hopefully) going to be good. So right
now he's in the writing stages and, in Jeff's words, "it's looking
very, very good."

Still a very funny guy, but his best days are behind him with this show. I will probably watch it but it won't have the "must see" status it used to have. I cannot wait for the second season of Rome!

The bit about the orthodics and the tooth fairy were so damn funny. Susie Essman is a national treasure. "Get the fuck out of my house, Larry."

I love Curb Your Enthusiasm... I came to the show late (watched all 5 seasons in a 3 week span this year) but I'm now obsessed. Especially after seeing Ricky Gervais interview Larry on Channel4 in the UK, and getting more of an insight into his writing process.

    Gotta love the guy.

I don't care if people love the show or hate it. You have to respect somebody who makes money and uses it to bash himself and essentially other celebrities.

    by white owl

'Curb' is always funny, and I've got all seasons so far on dvd. My personal fave is when he has Super Dave's coat, and picks up a stripper so he can use the carpool lane, and to see a Dodgers game with. And to buy weed off of for his Dad's eyes, and the weed is sbsequentially found in Super Dave's jacket at the airport.

    Good news...

    by danielkurland

Say what you want, but "The Ski Lift" in the last season was one of the funniest episodes ever, and if that hand motion they did for a large vagina had been used on Seinfeld, I guarantee you everyone would be doing it. This does somewhat take away from the finale though, as it DID end perfectly, and was even titled "The End", if only that finale could have somehow been used for the end of next year....

Seinfeld was funny, sure, but Curb is funnier. Not a bad episode, season or story arc in the bunch. HBO's best original series? I don't know, but it's pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good. Pretty good.

The last ep was a perfect capper

    by mrboinfoint

Larry getting kicked out of heaven for being too annoying was the best ending the series could have. But if he can still bring the funny, I say go for it. Maybe Curb and Sopranos can both go out together.

    So Many Great Scenes

    by topaz4206

You can't pick just one, what a fantastic show. For some reason, forcing his wife to wear Muslim attire for Halloween so his best friend will stop jacking off to her, and her getting called "Osama" and getting eggs thrown at her... is sticking out in my mind right now. This is great news!

There was a programme in the UK in which Ricky Gervais met his idol - Larry David. It was quite an insightful interview. Did you see it?

I wasn't the biggest fan of last season...

    by alonzo mosely

The season long story arcs just didn't work for me... Neither the I'm adopted or Richard needs a kidney had the natural progression and twisted punch line of previous seasons. But that is just personal opinion, and it was still some of the best TV you can find. I figure Larry is going for one more season as he wants to show he can end a series with perfection, after he left Seinfeld before the end, and they bombed badly with their sign-off.

First two seasons were brilliant and very funny, but not this last season. I wish Larry would just end it if he is out of gas.

Another season already? Haven't they learnt anything from The Sopranos, keep your audience on their toes and waiting even longer. I just find it morally objectionable that they'd try and make a new season so soon after the last one. Larry David's a fucking animal!

2 years before Curb. i kind of wish someone had spotted it and told Larry. other than that, make as many seasons as you wish. i don't understand people who want it to end. hey, lesser marx bros. films are STILL MARX BROS. FILMS. Curb's worst episode is better than the best episode of NBC's Office.
