the little white spider. Really, that alone will make it lose millions at the Box Office. Even if it's the most exciting, well-made, blockbusting movie ever- without the incy wincy spider it ain't nothing............

y'know, I'm sure that this is a danger room sequence, but the humor seems really forced. X3 is worrying me now. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VQY1DH9Z

Just wish they'd get on with it.

I was wondering the same thing Quint, it is odd for a studio to allow this much information to get out about the movie. Dont they generally threaten to beat people with their cameras if they take a pic? I guess the brass at Sony figure: "fuck it, we are going to make a gazillion dollars anyway on this movie, let them take pictures."
April 29, 2006, 2:49 a.m. CST
happy whilst they shut down most of their streets. from what ive seen the spidey crew seem to be fairly polite on location (publicity shots with disabled children, free cinema tickets to people in the vicinity of shooting etc)
April 29, 2006, 2:50 a.m. CST
by publicity shots with kids- I meant the spidey guy would meet the kids, but they wouldnt even bother getting the press there or making a big deal about it....which I thought was cool....
April 29, 2006, 3:18 a.m. CST
Even non-Spidey fans will feel cheated. No white spider, just the colors have changed. That is very, very weak.
April 29, 2006, 4:12 a.m. CST
The crew has been pretty lenient; if you arrive before shooting starts (like I do, for work) you can walk right through and shoot away (having a fresh cup of Starbucks is good for bribes, too). Thing is, despite a lot of closed shops, it is an active city block with a hotel, a couple of theaters and some very busy office buildings...so New York must be a serious bitch in which to film to put up with us walking though every shot.
April 29, 2006, 4:17 a.m. CST
In some of the shots linked above there's a nasty looking, heavily modified black pickup truck; it's got "Zulus" spray painted on the side, along with a little orange shield and spears on the front fender. Does that mean anything to anyone?
April 29, 2006, 4:45 a.m. CST
Sounds like Kraven pimped his ride.
April 29, 2006, 4:52 a.m. CST
A quick search pulled up this: "ZULUS (Jerome, Grease, Daddy K, Tyrone) - gang, fought squad, all dead--Ultraverse Year Zero: Death of the Squad#1 (2-4)." Hey, I stopped buying comics when they hit 60 cents, so I'm out of touch.

...won't give a damn that some minute stylistic difference is not included. The white Spidey emblem will go down in the annals of geek nit-picking with mechanical web-shooters, yellow spandex, and nomex bi-weave batsuit instead of grey and blue spandex.

I'm not suprised. This film will suck as bad as the last two.
April 29, 2006, 10:16 a.m. CST
... this film will kick ass. nothing about the Spidey films are forced. Spder-man 2 was one of the best action/comic book films ever made.

A word of advice for those ho didn't like the first two...skip this one...it's going to be just like the first two. Which suits me fine! Rami rocks at these films. i hope he has another portion of horror like the scene when Doc Oc killed the doctors. I loved the chainsaw and nails dragging across the floor. Looking forward to this.
April 29, 2006, 1:09 p.m. CST
The first two Spiderman films- particularly Part 1- were bionic event movies. Rather than trying to make it more than an event movie, Raimi decided to perfect that type of movie...and I wouldn't say he didn't pull off his aim.
April 29, 2006, 2:24 p.m. CST
Well, he clearly IS suatting to take a dump.

Yeah, yeah, interview with an extra. I know, big whoop. but read this bit: "Because Sam had a car that fit the requirements of the studio, he became one of the 50 extras who will drive cars in several scenes, including a great fight scene between Spidey and Sandman, who has stolen an armored car. They had to train to drive and it sounded pretty harrowing. The drivers were taken to a local airport where the stunt directors had set up a course. The instructions sounded pretty simple: drive at precisely 15 miles an hour and keep an exact distance apart from the car in front of you.

Spiderfan, Spiderfan, does whatever a fanboy can! You know he, Ain't satisfied! But he'll be there, On openin' night, LOOKOUT!!! Here comes the Spiderfan!!!
April 29, 2006, 4:36 p.m. CST
Spiderfans are actually quite civil: they're at least fifteen notches behind Shit-Jackets on the Lunatic Fan scale, and four or five behind Luca$ians and Ringers. In fact, I'd even say they're more composed than Bauer/Gravitasanites, and those are a testy bunch of ingrates. Next time I let a chick tie me to a chair and torture me with a Mach 3, well I'll ask her if she watches 24 first. If she answers yes, then I'm outta there faster than you can say "Punky Power".

Venom only had the white logo originally because webhead was influenced by the outfit worn by Spider-Woman during the Secret Wars series. OR there was the 90's cartoon origin which gave no explanation for the design whatsoever. OR the more recent Ultimate comicbook origin which doesn't feature the emblem at all. It hardly matters.
April 29, 2006, 5:28 p.m. CST
That was brilliant!
April 29, 2006, 9:21 p.m. CST
That was fucking cool. I'm still not a spidey fan, though. These films have been trash. I suspect this one will be another power rangers-esk film disquised as X-1. you know what I'm talking about. yeah you do.
April 29, 2006, 9:34 p.m. CST
The crowd and the kids reacting to the crash was just neat. Movie Magic! Having a cool Half-Spider Ninja as an American Icon just warms my heart. Kids love it, and Moms approve or something something.
April 29, 2006, 9:40 p.m. CST
Peter Parker is a fucking pussy. And my conclusion after watching all his scenes with Mary Jane is that he's a homosexual. It really does seem like thats the subtext Raimi is aiming at. If Mary Jane was always a girl that peter parker admired from a distance, but just couldn't get, then that would be something. But the way it plays out, Peter Parker adores Mary Jane, and she's given him ample signals to 'take her now' and he just fumbles and looks at his feet. It just doesn't work on me. And while the bad guys are all extravagant, and the action scenes are a little 'too' over the top, it's the minor bad guys that really drive me balls - they're all of the stocking over the head, firing shotguns at the cops variety. ie, weak. I know I'm in the minority here. i'm just blabbing.
April 30, 2006, 12:42 a.m. CST
...but brilliant has a nice ring to it! And I have to disagree with you Seppuku. I worked in a comic shop for a few years around the time of Spidey1 and some Spidey fans are freakin' scary!!! Oh... and I'm still trying to get over the MJ/Gwen switch the flicks have pulled so I'm making fun of myself as well. I cry sometimes.

I like Raimi as a guy. He seems funny and down to earth, but the Spider-Man films are just good. Not excellent or groundbreaking. That's too bad, because I expected Spider-Man to blow me away f/x-wise. Turns out it had some of the WORST f/x in recent memory (Toby jumping across the roofs, Spidey jumping on balloons etc). Completely took me out of the film. HOWEVER, the final shot of Spidey swinging through the city was gold. Flawless CGI. Oh well. Didn't cost me 120 million. Just 9 bucks to watch.
April 30, 2006, 3:35 p.m. CST
what the eff is everyone talking about a white spider for? what am i missing?
April 30, 2006, 4:28 p.m. CST
Not to be a snarky asshole, but while we've been getting a whole bunch of pics, they've all been of cars, spidey on a car, a car pulling spidey, etc (and we're really getting sad when we go "Ohh look, Sand!!")

When are you going to decide that links to money/registration grubbing sites IS NOT COOL? Give us access to free stuff or get out of the business. Megaupload my ass.

Those videos are sweet, too bad the picture site wants you to register/pay though. That picture of spidey with the little kid is cool though. SO glad to see the red and blue suit and not the black suit. Come on Sony/Raimi, let's get the promotional buzz happening on this movie!
