Pixar wants-a you-a to meet-a pair of CARS-a named Luigi and Guido!!!

Published at:  Apr 26, 2006 5:01:55 AM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Disney has sent out exclusive character profiles from many of the cars in... well, CARS, all around the internet. We got the below two. Luigi and Guido (voiced by Tony Shalhoub and Guido Quaroni respectively) are my favorite two characters in the movie. In grand Pixar tradition, the film has plenty of small, funny and memorible characters that fans will debate over. Everyone will pick a favorite, be it Heimlich Vs. Tuck and Roll or Slinky Dog Vs. Rex... the debate goes on.

This duo represents my favorite of the CARS universe characters. They run a repair shop in the small town where the events of CARS unfold and Guido has possibly my favorite scene in the film... But I won't ruin it. Instead I will present you with the two cars! Enjoy!

why do you need a review??

    by realdoublej

Can you not tell that this site likes it? If they weren't running every single promotional material under the sun then there's a fair chance they don't like it, BUT THEY DO! Now if they gave the film no coverage at all & then just wrote a negative review, they'd be accused of selling out for their own personal interest. Hell, a positive review out of nowhere & they are accused of selling out. Morale of the story? Keep up-to-date with all films & all opinions. Solution? Pass this site to people who could actually run it?

    Okay seriously guys...

    by sean38

...I LOVE Pixar. I plan to see this movie. But more and more this site is crossing the line from legitimate movie scoops to outright paid promotion. The editorial content and the ads need to be seperate. The "DVD Reviews" are bad enough but a post because Pixar has two posters featuring minor characters? That crosses the line.

    by halloween68

...is wrong with you guys? Are you kidding me? More promos for this really horrid looking pixar pic? They must be blowing AICN a lot of money to get all this stuff up.

this movie does indeed look like sh*t

    by burlivesleftnut

All these character posters that have been popping up are just ludicrous charicatures. Are we supposed to find it funny that Cheech Marin is playing some Vato Car? Or that George Carlin is cute as some goofy spaced out (stoned) hippy car? The whole film just looks amazingly simple-minded and lazy. Even worse, it looks like the animated version of Doc Hollywood, which makes my soul sick.

    Haters Unite!

    by brycemonkey

I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't care less about this... And also I have noticed that the site MUST be getting paid or have a 'special relationship' with certain filmmakers. It's a sure way for no-one to trust your reviews. (I only believe 2 or 3 reviewers on this site) Sad really.

    by jig98

the actors who are voicing them. it's like in "the pagemaster" when macaully "home alone" culkin turned into a cartoon charector. larry the cable guy as the tow truck is a perfect fit.

The Car characters look shit in stills. I still have some faith in this though, even if it's only for the animation.

I love all of the Pixar movies, but this one...

    by mrboinfoint

Saw a preview where Lightning McQueen is driving down a highway, passes the Route 66 sign, and some crappy ska-rock Smashmouth bullshit version of the "Route 66" song came on like an outtake from Shrek 3. The idea of the cars being voiced by actors famous for certain stereotypes doesn't neccesarily bug me (I like the idea of Carlin's involvement), but the mere presence of Larry the Cable Guy fills me with dread. Because: a.) he's a fucking hick. b.) he will bring in the NASCAR audience. c.) he just isn't funny. Bad jokes, bad delivery, and if I here one more asshole say "get 'er done" I will go one a fucking rampage. All of this adds up to the first time I'm not looking forward to a Pixar movie, and will wait until it's been out awhile and listen to word of mouth from trusted sources before I see it. From the looks of everything I've seen so far, it will be minor miracle if Lasseter pulls it off. That's too bad.

Sean38, you must be new here

    by jasonpthompson

You must be new here. This site is bought and paid for like so many hookers. Has been for years. As for the DVD reviews, 90% of what Drew reviews he hasn't even seen. It's simply about linking to Amazon and getting paid.
